Since John has visited the thread but not posted any predictions, and since the fans demand an update, I can do no other but to satisfy them. Here goes, Games 1 and 2:

Game 1 – Eastern Conference Finals : Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks (Series tied 0-0)

Another convincing display by New York in the opening game of a series, sending Boston the message that it is we who are the better team of the two in this matchup. The Knicks were led by an inspiring Allan Houston, who posted a playoff high for 2005 with 35 points, many of which came in the last minute or two when he was constantly being sent to the free throw line by Boston. Odom had 20, while Jamal Magloire was once again a monster on the boards downing the ball 15 times after missed shots. Boston had Raef LaFrentz in the zone with 21 pts – 19 rebs and Antoine Walker scored 23 , but in the end it was Houston’s cold blood that handed the win to New York.

Result: The Knicks defeat the Celtics 100-108, snatch homecourt once more and lead the series 1-0.

Game 2 – Eastern Conference Finals : Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks (Knicks lead series 1-0)

This one was more defensive than game one, with Boston barely edging out New York during the final stretches and getting the crucial victory to tie up the series. Antoine Walker was the leader for the Celts, scoring points from inside and outside while grabbing 15 rebounds to go along. Allan Houston was not as hot as he was in game 1 and Lamar Odom found himself struggling with hi shot selection late in the 4th, all of which defined the game’s final outcome.

Result: Boston takes the victory, 88-84, and ties the series at 1-1.

nice recaps (Y)
i love the C's but u should win it (in game 7 at best ^^)

i'm looking forward to ur next update...

it must be pretty late there in greece, since it's already 3 am here in Germany, i guess u're timezone is about 2 hours behind

Thu May 05, 2005 11:14 am

One hour behind. It's 4.15 am, but if you've read some of my old posts you'd know that me and Joanne are a bit like Vampires, sleeping from 5am to 8.30 am at night, and a couple of hours when getting back from work. 5.5 hours a day is all we need, we picked up that habit some 2 or 3 years ago while studying together. Plus we work on the same office building, so we're pretty much of an item in our timetables...

Oh, and for the rest of you, Joanne is the name of my wife and fellow vampire

So far the series id starting out the same way as the Orlando one did. If it continues, it promises for an exciting series indeed... (Y)

Thu May 05, 2005 11:24 am

all this off topic stuff...
it makes me reminiscing about the time with Janine ;)
damn...
but we should talk about this in PMs
thiz iz private life ^^

...and i don't want to spam around in ur thread ^^

Thu May 05, 2005 11:27 am

Aye... tell you what, I'll post another game update to help you clear your head...

Dr. Dynasty presents:

Game 3 – Eastern Conference Finals : New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics (Series tied at 1-1)

The series switched to the Madison Square Garden and the Celtics proved to be the better team at the end of the day to win it and clinch back the homecourt advantage in this series. Another vintage performance by Walker, this time seconded by Paul Pierce who had been fairly unimpressive in the first two games. Jamal Crawford was once again the best player for the Knicks, but did not get any help from his big men near the end to manage to spur his team on to victory.

Result: Boston grabs the victory, 95 – 104, regains homecourt and leads the series 2-1.

Thu May 05, 2005 11:28 am

Good recaps and good win over Boston in Game 1, but tough loss in Game 2. I'm still in the running for a 4-2 NY win

Lafrentz almost had a 20-20 game against you too which is not good :shake:

Thu May 05, 2005 11:32 am

and i'm stil running for that 4-3 victory ;)
so u'll better win again ^^

Thu May 05, 2005 11:36 am

Lafrentz almost had a 20-20 game against you too which is not good

probably the best game of his life, after his Kansas years

and i'm stil running for that 4-3 victory

hehe, glad to see that predictions game is having such success... Get your CFs ready guys, one of you will be an NLSC baller in this dynasty in the 06 draft class 8-)

Thu May 05, 2005 1:50 pm

you've already got mine....that's the only one you'll need....go C's

don't worry, if Warriors make playoffs in the other dynasty I'll bandwagon them for the playoffs and hope you do well in that one

Game 4 – Eastern Conference Finals : New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics ( Boston leads series 2-1)

Looks like the Knicks liked the Orlando series that much, that they are trying to copy it step-by-step. This was an easy W at home for New York, who never felt threatened by the lacking Boston in this contest. Jamal Crawford was leading with 26 points, and the rest followed along with everyone playing his part to perfection. The lead reached the 30 point mark at one time, and there was little Paul Pierce could do about it, despite his 27pts – 5rebs – 7ast.

ImageImage

Result: New York defeats Boston 114 – 88, ties the series at 2-2, with the next game in Boston.

Game 5 – Eastern Conference Finals : Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks ( Series tied 2-2)

Yup. It’s the Orlando series come back to life all right. With a convincing performance, New York breezed through theCeltics in their home court and now need only one more victory in the following confrontations to reach the NBA finals. Lamar Odom dominated with 32 points and 12 rebounds, while backups Antonio Davis, Brian Grant and even Slava Medvedenko(!!!) more than made up for Magloire’s average showing this night. Paul Pierce was having an off night, and with 7/25 shooting from the field did his team more damage than good.

ImageImage

Result : The Knicks take it 92 – 108 and now lead the series 3-2 going into game 6 at the Garden

Thu May 05, 2005 6:04 pm

damn.. somethings going on here... why is new york winning??? (N)

Need boston to win 2!!!

Thu May 05, 2005 6:25 pm

damn.. somethings going on here... why is new york winning???

The CPU is doing it, not me... I just play the 4th quarter and not always... even if I intervenr I try to play realistically... plus I've adjusted the sliders for the game to be more difficult than it is in my GS dynasty... I'm as surprised as you are that the CPU favors us Knicks so much... :?

Thu May 05, 2005 6:26 pm

Game 6 – Eastern Conference Finals : New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics (Knicks lead series 3-2)

What a wasted opportunity for the Knicks to advance to the Finals… After having Boston’s number for most of the game and leading at the end of the 3rd with 16 points, 72 – 56, the festivities were just about to commence at the Garden when the Celtics all of a sudden exploded in the 4th and had their best 12 minute game of the season, vastly outscoring their opponents 39 – 16 (!?!) during that period. Paul Pierce was having a Jordanesque 4th quarter performance, but the man who made the difference was backup point guard Marcus Banks who scored 17 points in the last 10 minutes and tipped the scale in Boston’s favor.

ImageImage

Result: The Celtics make an unbelievable comeback to win it 88 – 95, tie the series at 3 games each and will now face New York at Fleet Center for the deciding 4th victory.

Thu May 05, 2005 6:48 pm

Thu May 05, 2005 7:13 pm

Dang, what a bunch of gamblers...

hey, this is a dynasty thread, not a gambling office... rooting for the opposition... grrrrr

Thu May 05, 2005 8:40 pm
