After easily defeating the Bobcats the Pistons move on to salt lake city to take on the Jazz.
Utah will be different for Detroit as they face an opponent that has a good defenseive wingman.
Look for the Detroit backcourt to possibly struggle under the defensive pressure of Andrei Kirilenko.
This is arguably Detroits toughest game this month.

As many predicted this game wasnt a easy one for the Pistons.
The score doesnt do justice to how hard Detroit had to work for this win.
If it wasnt for the poor offensive execution of the Jazz, Detroit wouldnt have been so fortunate in this game.
Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace can be thanked for the Pistons coming through,
Both making some big plays when it mattered in the second half.
The Jazz started out great holding the Pistons to only 17 poitns in the first quarter,
while only putting up 17 of their own, it rattled the Pistons enough to make them feel well behind.
THe Jazz continued their great play against last years runners up, scoring 28 to the Pistons 27 in the 2nd,
taking a 1 point lead into the half the Jazz would have felt comfortable but the Pistons were pumped after a shouting to at the half.
The Pistons went on a 25-10 run to start the 3rd, they never looked back scoring 65 points in the second half, and never leading by less than 10.
Rip Hamilton top scored with 29 points shooting 10-23 and 8-10 from the FT line.
Sheed was strong in the frontcourt with 23 points, including 3 3's he also added 5 boards.
Carlos Boozer had a great game for the Jazz with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Rookie Deron Williams posted 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists but also posted 9 TO's
Coach Flip Saunders was happy with the game:
"I think we showed true characteristics of a true champion, we were down at the half and clearly werent in control,
However we focused ourselves and showed that we can turn a game easily."

Billups had an active night, first seen splitting the defense then seen celebrating after taking a charge.

Price had a quite night, here seen adjusting on a layup to get the And 1 | Big Ben was dominant when he wasnt in FT

Yeah it was Utah or Washington that I was most worried about, its good to get one of them out of the wayJing wrote:FT = foul trouble?
Yeah i didnt think id have enough room to write Foul Trouble, might change that as there is plenty of spaceMalfa wrote:ahhh 7 to's by billups

Yeah 7 TO, but most of them were from when I try to get a steal and the ball goes out of bounds it counts as TO but in real life it doesnt, silly coding by EA

Cheers dude, Yeah the gfx seem to be coming out well, you can thank my video card for that. Yeha 8-1 is good, but I havent met many tough teams yetSit wrote:Gonna finish over .900 Mark???
Haha well i could but yeah as i just told Sam, i havent faced many tough teams, and when I faced Phx I lost so I think .900 is a bit of a big ask, If i want to finsih over .900 I can only lose one more game which is tough

The Pistons return to Detroit tonight for their first home game this month.
It is against the Wizards who are currently 4th in the East, thus creating an important matchup for the Pistons.
Detroit will want to win this game in case they have to go down to a season matchup review in the playoff seedings.
The Pistons will be without Star SHooting Guard Rip Hamilton

Chauncy Billups sure made up for the loss of Rip Hamilton.
Billups set a new career high in scoring with 40 points, dominating Gilbert Arenas.
The Pistons ended up winning by 30 which you could say was 30 of Billups points.
The Pistons played great D on the Wizards forcing them into 23 turnovers and 36% from the feild.
The Pistons were up by 10 heading into the final quarter when Chauncy Billups exploded,
he then went on to score 12 straight points by himself, before taking a seat for the rest of the game with 8 minutes left.
The Pistons led from the start but had trouble up until the fourth at losing the Wizards.
There were glimpses of the Pistons early season troubles of slowing their opponents down,
but after the final result its doesnt seem to be much of a worry.
Billups had an amazing stat line with 40 points 13 assists and 6 steals on 13-28 shooting.
Tayshaun Prince did a good job on the defensive end with 6 steals and 3 blocks, he also added 8 boards and 9 points.
Caron Butler managed to evade the Pistons defense scoring 25 points to lead the Wizards.
Gilbert Arenas was held to 15 points and left the game at the start of the second half with back spasms.
Rasheed Wallace was extatic with Billups performance:
"In my opinion Chauncy just proved that he is one of, if not the best point in the league,
He is an amazing court general and then when our main scorer goes down,
he can step up and easily carry the team, I couldnt think of anyone I would rather have as my Point Guard."

Billups dominated the Washington Defense in this game often seen scoring with ease.
Next up: vs LA Lakers
