MOVE OVER WOODY, WHITE MAN CAN JUMP

By Bill Symonds
NLSC Insider

Updated: Feb. 17, 2006, 11.48 PM ET --

In an unbelievable display, Portland forward David Lee became the first white player to win a dunk contest since Clippers' rookie Brent Barry dunked from just inside the foul line about a decade ago. Lee beat out his more favoured teammate Darius Miles for the title. Lee did it easy as he scored four perfect 50's as he encapsulated the crowd with precision timing, creativity, showmanship & hops. David Lee, the token white guy of the contest beat out his Blazers' teammate Darius Miles with a score of 100-93 to win the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

ImageImage
It should be no surprise that David Lee could win it all, he did once win the McDonald's High School All-American Dunk Contest

ImageImage
Lee takes time out to point out Sit's mum for some reason unknown

ImageImage
Darius Miles (above left) & Caron Butler (above right) were both impressive at times, but couldn't get it done over the course of the contest

The final scoreboard from each round were as follows:
Round 1
Final Round

That completes All-Star Saturday. I hope you enjoyed it and please check in tomorrow as I recap the main event, the 2007 NBA All-Star Game.

white man can jump....Lee can....Brent Barry did....that HS-er whose going to Arizona got robbed of the HS dunk contest....it's just few & far between I guess

yep, I was happy to see him win it....even if he hadn't, his teammate Miles would have

Lee is no Birdman, that's for sure :

you never know, she's been getting a lot of pub at this year's ASW

3C wrote:Nice win for Lee. Didn't expect him to win but nice all thesame. (Y)

yep, it seemed everyone thought that if a Blazer was to win it would be Miles, but Lee thoroughly deserved it

Mark. wrote:For some reason my gut told me Lee would win it, did you play it yourself?

nah, CPU played it....I took pics while CPU played off against each other....
