Only If you rent the game or buy it used. I guess you must register or something to get it for free. I'm looking at it right now on the PSN $19.99. I was thinking about renting it to compare with the other games... looks like Im not getting it at all. O well

As I understand it, this year's it free but it's possible that it will be a paid service in the future.

Community Manager:
when you buy the game, you get a card. The card has a code.

If you buy NBA LIVE 09 used, you'll have to pay for the code via XBL or PSN for NBA LIVE 365.

T-Mobile is paying for it this year for all users who buy the game new.

You can't use it on multiple consoles. It only works once for your console.

Once you put the code in, it's activited.

Well, it is free this year if you buy the game new. Unless a sponsor pays for it in future games, there's likely to be a once off charge for the activation code similar to buying it used this year.

Pretty cheeky. Charge $50 for the game, then charge another $20 for THE feature that was touted to get people to buy the game.

Buy CarX, it gets 50 MPG! The car is $15,000, but if you want the 50 MPG, that's another $5,000.

Only if you buy the game second hand. If you buy the game new, you're presented with the activation code for NBA Live 365 courtesy of T-Mobile. The subscription isn't included if you buy the game used.

-Does dis mean u cant play online either, if u dont get it? Because doesnt the 365 affect online play too..????

-If u dont have this feature, will u still be able to play ALL the other features? play online? and play ALL online features??

It seems the activation code will only work once, so you'd probably have to pay for a new subscription. You usually need the latest rosters to play online, but I'm not sure if that would be offered as a standalone download if you choose not to use NBA Live 365. Even if you buy the game new, you can choose not to automatically download updates every day.

I'm not actually sure. As I said, you usually need to have the latest rosters to play online which suggests you'd need to have to be able to download the updates, but that might not be the case. Because you can choose not to get the NBA Live 365 updates (Dynamic DNA is in the game no matter what), I'd be surprised if you can't play online at all without subscribing to the service. I'm not sure about the limitations though.

This is from Marcus S., posted at OS:

"Guys,

I want to clarify something:

NBA LIVE 365 (new copy) is NOT tied to your XBOX 360 or PSN console hard drive. The code is tied to your PROFILE on XBL or PSN.

If you buy it on XBL Marketplace or PSN Store with a used game, it's tied to your console's hard drive.

Just wanted to correct everything!

Thanks"

Ah, well that's certainly better news. Just a matter of recovering your profile in the event of hardware failure.
