Thanks for the heads up.
Be-a-pro mode is simply a copy of player-lock, but with some achievements and camera movement.
On the other hand, NBA Academy looks like the best feature beyond NBA Live 365 and DNA- fun-wise.

True, Be a Pro is probably going to disappoint people looking for a more in-depth career mode but I reckon its presence might be a stepping stone to a fully fledged mode along those lines.

"Be-a-pro mode is simply a copy of player-lock" I thought Be A pro mode is like career mode where u going through draft process and sign-op out of contract which i really excited about but turn out to be load of crap. this should be called Player Lock Mode

It was never promoted as being anything different than a single game mode. A fully fledged career mode would essentially be a Player Lock mode too if it was implemented the way most people seem to want it to be, at least when it came to gameplay. As I said before, I think Be a Pro will prove to be a stepping stone towards a fully fledged career mode down the road.

Thanks for the dissapointing news. I think I'll wait for the reviews and the nba 2k9 demo before I decide which game i'll be getting this year. I'm sure "be-a-pro" is something they will probably flesh out alot more for nba live 10 and tout it as the big new feature.

That raises an interesting point. Is it worth giving us a small taste of these features before they're expanded on? FIBA teams caused a bit of controversy when they were unveiled last year because only a few were included due to EA acquiring the FIBA license too late to include as many teams as they have this year but it was done to give players a little extra and a preview of things to come. However, instead of leaving players wanting more it seems to leave people disappointed that these extras aren't bigger upon their debut.

Personally, I don't mind them debuting as smaller extras as it gives them a chance to get some feedback and work out the kinks before the fully fledged mode comes along and since I'm mostly a Dynasty player anyway, things like FIBA teams and Be a Pro are almost bonus features anyway. However, their inclusion before they're fleshed out doesn't seem to have the positive effect on some players that EA are obviously hoping for.
