Demo coming 2nd week of September

Talk about NBA Live 09 here.

Demo coming 2nd week of September

Postby JaoSming on Fri Aug 29, 2008 3:01 am

Evidently someone from Operationsports said that Beluba said "The demo should be up for download by the 2nd week of september"

Our buddy Marcus, the EA community rep, has said that
Let's just say it'll be different from the traditional demo

So there ya go

If that goes as planned, it should be on the 11th for the Playstation 3 (Same as FIFA 09).
Definitely looking forward to playing them both.

Anyone care to venture a guess as to what he means by "different from the traditional demo"?
Seems like starting in the NBA Academy and the re-playing the NBA Finals with the ratings from that game is the obvious choice, but since he makes it out to be something very different, I have no idea what to think.. OTP perhaps?

It won't be playable. CPU vs CPU only.

OTP would be too intelligent, unless they shut the demo's server down when the game comes out.

My guess is the Academy with a 2 minute quarter first half with the celtics/lakers.

They could go all out and have the EA sports world support & online since they did it / have it with skate.

Why are you so pessimistic
Allen Iverson passing on family values:

A.I.: son, what you doing there?
A.I.'s son: practicing my math for my test tommorow
A.I: practice? practice? we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test - practice. we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test, not the test - practice.

If it is any similar to Madden 09's demo then the action will kick off during one of the finals games.

Benji might be on the right track though. A "traditional" demo is basically a playable, but limited portion of the game. Since it won't be traditional, it could be more of a demonstration, rather then a playable demo. Hence, CPU vs CPU. Or just some video that will end up being posted online anyway.

Didn't the Madden 09 demo also include a tutorial that you played through before being able to sample the gameplay? Perhaps they'll be doing something similar with the NBA Academy drills and then move into a couple of quarters of a Lakers/Celtics game in a way that also highlights Player DNA.

Yeah, the tutorial was basically a set of drills that set(or was supposed to set) the CPU difficulty for different aspects of the game based on your performance.

Sounds like something they could do with Live 09 as well.

As I understand it, new content comes out on a Thursday the same as Xbox Live so it might not come out until next week now.
