My vote will go for Jason Kidd hehe even though he is already in the 2003 cover of the Live, my other vote will go to Baron Davis

I still think we can automatically rule out anyone who's been on the cover before. EA tends to select someone who is marketable and either one of the top players in the league or a rising star. LeBron would certainly fit the former description and Kevin Durant the latter.

I think it´ll be Durant. I really like LeBron, but Durant was already coverboy for EA.
But I dont have to care about that. In Germany we will always get a bad quality pic of Dirk Nowitzki. Since 07

Before remembering he was with Midway, I was going to say that Howard was going to be the obvious choice, just like Arenas was.

My Top 3 Most Likely:

1. LeBron
2. Bosh
3. Durant

It won't be Howard as long as he's under contract with another developer.

Depending on their deals with other developers, Paul and Howard seem to be longshots.

what they should do is let the fans vote for who they want on the cover

I suppose that would ensure that a marketable player is on the cover but signing that player might be another issue altogether.

What about Dirk Nowitzki or Paul Pierce?
Allen Iverson passing on family values:

A.I.: son, what you doing there?
A.I.'s son: practicing my math for my test tommorow
A.I: practice? practice? we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test - practice. we talkin' 'bout practice. not the test, not the test - practice.

I assume Dirk will get the German cover if nothing else. Paul Pierce seems like a longshot to me. He's still a star player but he's not a star on the rise and probably wouldn't draw in as many casual fans, which I'm sure is the main factor in selecting someone to appear on the cover (anyone who cares about the game inside is not going to worry about who's on the box).

Chris Bosh might also be a good guess or Ray Allen? Maybe Micheal Redd? :|

I'd say Bosh is the most likely out of those three players. He's probably got a bit more appeal with casual fans compared to Redd and Allen's age doesn't make him all that suitable, even though he remains an All-Star calibre player.

Then who do you like to be in the 09 cover Andrew? I bet you like a Chicago player to be in the cover?

I would say LeBron remains a strong candidate, Durant would also seem a likely choice given he appeared on the cover of March Madness and fits the bill of being marketable as an up-and-coming player. That's not to say they won't change their approach or break their rules regarding players appearing on the cover twice but there's a trend in the past selections that seems to rule out certain players, at least in my opinion.

There's a thread full of custom NBA Live 09 covers being posted over on the official site. A couple of my personal favourites, the first two being unlikely choices. ;)

I think It would depend on who wins the ring because of the west's wild playoff race.
I would like to see Nash, I can't understand why he wasnt on the cover the last two years after winning two MPVs in a row.
