I can hire games on Mondays & Tuesdays for $2 per night at my local video store, so that's still pretty cheap

No such luck around here. It's not like renting a game leaves you out of pocket or anything but the prices are bit steep for what is usually only overnight rental on games.

I'm still shocked 2k hasn't shown us ANYTHING on their game. . .And people saying it's going to be better than Live!!! They think it's gonna pull lil Wayne numbers with no promotion lol

I would've thought both developers would be posting a lot of previews. EA have given us a lot of info already but there hasn't been as many videos/screenshots as in year's past. As I said in another thread though, perhaps a wave of them will be coming in September.

If it does not have the season mode where you have actual nba schedule for the NBA 2008-09 season i'm not gonna buy it. I don't want to rely on Dynasty or Fantasy basketball. It's not my game.

It has the option of playing a single season with the 2008/2009 schedule.

I don't think it was in the 360/PS3 version last year but if it was, it was implemented in the same way, a Dynasty/Season selection when you start a new Dynasty game.

I'd put it down to people being burned by the hype in the past and the lack of a PC release. If there was a "Maybe" or "I'll wait and see" option I think that might garner a fair amount of votes.

We ran a poll on the main page after the announcement that there would be no PC version, surprisingly a majority of people at the time voted that they'd be inclined to buy the game for one of the consoles and a decent percentage indicated they might buy it depending on how it turns out.

I would if I owned a 'box' as opposed to a PC
Randy - 'Did you know Earl that before we was humans we was monkeys?'
Earl - 'Hmmm, What were we before we were monkeys?'
Randy - 'I don't know...I don't even remember being a monkey'

I'd definitely recommend trying the demos first or perhaps even renting both games before you make a decision. Hands on time will let you know which is the game for you much more than snippets of gameplay footage.
