You can choose not to get the updates, but as far as it affecting a Dynasty you don't have to worry because the 365 updates don't change anything in a Dynasty game that's already started. You can of course start a new Dynasty with the latest update or any other custom roster/DNA data you have saved.

Have to agree with what you said right there, something EA should work on with them for next year. If you actually hear what they say in real NBA games, there is remarkably a huge difference than in Live

I think the worst part about commentary is that it is generic play by play calling, lacking emotion, especially in pressure situations like important possessions or momentum changes, do-or-die games, and record breaking scenarios.

I think EA should steer away from having player specific commentary in favor of emotional play by play during an intense moment and commentary based on the progression of a game, playoff series or season.

Oh, I just remembered that one of the producers on the EA message board stated that one of the things they had to limit in the demo was the commentary.

Yeah, I totally agree. Although I usually play the Live 09 without the commentary

word. hearing the player specific commentary is cool, but only once.

would much rather have more emphatic commentary during a shift in momentum or in crunch time in a close game.

I think there'll always be some limitations on how realistic the commentary can be. Over the years, they've been able to throw some banter in the mix but the problem is it is repeated. You can only record a finite amount of dialogue whereas commentators in real life are going to go off on different tangents game to game, mention recent events on and off the court and depending on the people in question, joke amongst themselves. That's not to say commentary in Live (and other games) can't improve, but to be honest I think it will be a while before commentary in a sports game truly comes within a whisker of real life, if ever.

Maybe they could add new commentary during a season similar to the DNA feature in a future version.

d/led the demo yesterday. played through it 3 or 4 times. plays a lot like 08 with new animations. some of the side jumping jumpers do annoy me, but it seems like they went more towards 2k-style animations with less control but more fluidity. I like the new practice and the user controlled shooting.

Hey,

I abondoned EA 3 years ago after 10 years of nba live. But this demo is making me think about coming back. At least its fun and the cpu players are not just standing around anymore.

Like me.
I was playing Live from 96 until 2003, then change to 2ksports.
But now, with Live 08 yet, Live series are so good (or better, this year) than 2ksports.
This Year i will play much more Live.
It is more real , i think.
