NBA Live 09 PS2 was definitely interesting to revisit. There's a lot of roughness, indicative of how much of an afterthought it was, and yet there's also clearly some effort put into it. It can be fun despite its flaws, though.

It's difficult to say without sounding hyperbolic, but moments like Steve Blake's buzzer-beating three are why we play basketball video games. It's so satisfying to see wild and lucky shots happen as they do in real life. It's also why unless you're attempting some kind of challenge, you don't worry about three-point percentages and shoot that long shot at the end of quarters!
