2k9 is not coming out for the PC. At least, it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Ok first thing is first, there is nothing confirming that this game is being released on PC. Yes retailers are listing it, but none of them are confirming the existence of the game. The only creditable source of this is the ESRB website.

2ndly, IF this game comes out for PC, people on this site will most likely get and play it. However, discussion of the game will probably be limited to this section.

3rdly, IF the game comes out and IF for some reason this game is patchable near the same extent as Live is which is doubtful then we will consider making a patching preview & releases section for the 2k game.

Now, again, nothing confirms this game is actually going to make it out to the PC. But IF it does then we will act accordingly.
Opinions are my own.

And if the game is coming out for PC, it begs the question why 2KSports don't mention a PC release, since it would be a perfect opportunity to swoop in and try to win an audience that for many years has only had one option on that platform, an option that doesn't exist for the 08/09 season.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but why would they put it on their site? If not now maybe next year?

Well first I wanted to thank you for showing us a site actually worth looking at for the PC possible release.

I'm still skeptical until this site http://www.2ksports.com/games/nba2k9 shows it or till its in my hands. Thanks for the link though.

One of the users at konsolekingz's website showed that link first in the chatroom while playing the game and streaming it. (The user was KingSoul)

http://theotherseason.com/

I've just searched in google and found out that in 2K community website(Facebook's 2K Sports Page) somebody with a "2K Sports" nickname tells that there will be an announcement about this next week.
Here it is:
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=6 ... 067&ref=mf

BTW, look at the official site and that site. Their servers are the same.

So. This looks like the second official source after ESRB. Happy modding in the future everybody. :)

So they decided to do what EA won't and pressed the "compile for Windows" button in the 360 devkit?

Yes. There literally is such a button.

You'd probably want to spend a week or so adding various PC centric options (details settings, where to save stuff, internet changes, mouse support, etc.) but other than that, yes, it is that simple.

PES2008 or whatever I think was more or less a direct port of the 360 version, so would be nice to see this happen.

As someone else so eloquently put it, you think they program these games on some turd Xbox or PS3 machine? No, these games are programmed on PC's (or Mac's) for the Xbox and PS3.

So EA made a BUSINESS decision to screw us, not for a technical decision. (speaking of which, I'm going to download Crysis: Warhead now just to screw them. Maybe Spore too. I won't even play it. )

EA is only distributor for Crysis through EA Partners, buy it on Steam.

Exactly, cause the only reason we aren't getting Live 09 PC is because 07 and 08 weren't good games....really...that's the only reason....stop looking at me.......Image

Awesome! The facts are building up, and it's looking more and more likely. I hope to good it's the truth.

Man, this would create a whole new era in PC bball gaming. New patching files/methods, new roster save files. The whole community would be starting fresh. Everything would be different, but 10x better.

I'm excited.

I have an erection.

fantastic, but do you have a computer that could run it if by chance they do port the NG version and not the PS2 version.

Indeed, I didn't mean that to sound as harsh as it probably came off. I do think cautious optimism is appropriate here though as it remains to be seen how patchable a PC version would/will be.

Sweet, someone said they're going to officially announce it this coming week?

I"m building a new PC just for the incredible lineup of games coming out this Fall. It's been a slooooow PC gaming year. I haven't bought anything since Call of Duty MW.

Far Cry 2
GTA IV (PC)
COD: World at War
NBA 2k9 (hopefully)
