mini review of the PS2 version 08 [WITH VIDEO on sig-shot]

compare to live 07 either PS2 or PC version

1. some of the bugs are still there e.g. trible threat, rebound(jump so high)

2. i cannot find the sig-moves (at least for players like kobe, t-mac, marion)

3. the same level of graphic as 07

4. >90 % the same style of speech by s.kerr and the other one

5. right analog can still do the crossover and spin moves

6. it does have PLAYER HOT SPOTS , by pressing L3

7. The roster is not that updated as i cannot find Frances and scola in ROCKETs

8. It does contain FIBA

9. CPU players domination is gone (just i think, haven't try it thoroughly)

10. Automatic subsitution bug is gone (just i think, haven't try it thoroughly)
)

11 I cannot see any celebrating animations after a nice shot

12. the SHORT replay is still there

13 I can find the Signature jump shot of S.Marion!

14 players have fatigue

15. many players in FIBA do not have photos

16. the bench players sit straightly like 07

17 10 man freestyle by R3 button

18....etc

Finally, I know PC version is not yet come out,

but at least for the PS2 version, it just like it is the MOD-ded Version of 07!!

i bought both PS2 and XBOX360 version from the store today (today is holiday here and so they sell it earlier)

like last year, it has video on the menu but this time in full screen , not just the 1/4 of the screen

i haven't tried Dynasty yet.......

i cannot find sign-MOVE, but i can find sign-SHOT, haa

no, in Live 08 Pc version everything is like or similar in 07.

may be next year we'll have a Pc version ported from xbox360. and everything will be different.

try pressing the left analog stick in for the hotspots (aka L3) i think that is what IGN said the hot spots trigger was.


also can you see if they put player chatter back in, and also is there a widescreen video mode.

but the gameplay is much better than 07

and the graphic is better a little than 07 by tweaked the files by EA

but worse than the tweaked lighting we did in 07

ps: just tried the 360 version....the gameplay just a little better than ps2 version

What do you mean 10-man freestyle, I don't remember such a button?

Can you walk? Or is it just jogging and sprinting again?

2008 - 7.5 ( some slight changes but still suxs )

2008 - 8 ( at least i see some changes on the bugs before )

I played yesterday for the 1st time, and here's what i thought.

I Played just one game, Usa vs Argentina.
I was USA

Ginobili ended the game with 50 points 22-28 FG (many dunks)
Prigioni (Argentina PG) Dominated the 1st period and part of the 2nd until Manu appeared...
My backcourt was Wade and Lebron and it was so easy to dribble the defense and Dunk with both of them, but shooting is a little more harder.
Steals and Block don't come so often like Live 07
In Timeouts we see the players running to the bench

Chicago Bulls don't have rookies...
The graphics are exactly the same of 07

Hey Jimmy... Thanks for the update. I have a couple of questions regarding the PS2 version:

1.) Do the FIBA players on the France, Germany, Greece, etc teams have custom faces or are they generic?

2.) Is there still point guard domination?

Are there any new lay-ups or dunks (except for the sig-shots) ?

i've just started to play the dynasty mode with my ps2
and, hopefully it's an odd case...

i started a dynasty and re-did the draft of 2007
Durant was the 11th pick
reason? he has a rating of 77 but guys like crittenton and almond (the utah rookie?) have ratings of 80+

then, i went through a month of simulation, and a bunch of players have already attempted 100+ 3pointers (is it just me? i dun thnk that's normal)

next, i check the league leaders, wow, about 20 players average more than 30 pts a game, and the stats of rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals are so wrong that I don't even want to mention them

i'm going to start a new dynasty and HOPEFULLY these are just one-time errors
