NBA Live 08 PC Issues (Bug List & Information)

Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Pdub wrote:My opinion is that it's not happening. If it were going to happen, it wouldn't have taken this long to get info on a fix, and there has been no correspondence from EA regarding any fix.

I think this is also a pre-confirmation that Live 09 for the PC is going to be next-gen, because why would you dedicate resources to making a patch when those resources could be used on the next-gen PC development.

It's sad to see Live 08(as in how bad it is) as the last installment for this generation of the game.

I too feel that we're probably going to miss out this year. It's certainly disappointing but if NBA Live 09 is going to be a port of the 360/PS3 version then so much the better. In the meantime, JaoSming's NBA Live PC Mod initiative is probably more worthy of our attention for those of us who want to play an NBA game on the PC.

Nevertheless, I'll keep this thread stickied for the meantime.

I hope thats really the case Andrew/ Pdub: To allocate resources for Live 09 and not spend it on Live 08. Then we'll be expecting more from EA then. If not, EA really needs to do some reorganization. Somewhere and someone in their organization isn't doing his/ her job well enough to satisfy a certain group of users.

Though by accounting, its not easy to drop this product line (NBA on PC) as it is also contributing to the costs of other lines as well, but I hope they straighten their minds out and test the products first before releasing. Its sad to know that EA is willing to sacrifice their company's reputation just because someone inside EA is screwing up the job.

Unless, we PC users are just 1% of total EA sales, then we need to get heard even more.

My 2 cents worth :D

That's the problem, we account for a smaller percentage of NBA Live sales compared to the console versions. For the loyalty we've shown, it wouldn't be smart business to focus on the minority and while that's bad news for us, it's an inevitable part of the development process. Hopefully, phasing out the PS2 and Games for Vista will mean good news in terms of porting the 360/PS3 version.

If you have any problems with chrashing at half-time, timeouts, at the end of the game, then don't post here.

That's what I've been trying to do for the past few months but unfortunately it does not look like we'll be getting an official fix this year.

So 08 will not going to have an patch by EA? That is bad news there. They should at least release a patch so that they can leave the PC version now.

There's been no official word but at this point I'm taking no news as being bad news.

May game is way too good now. . .thanks to all the great patchers here in NLSC. . .

The only problem now is simengine. . .if we can only correct it (no more C-3pts bug) then this version can be the best NBA Live version ever. . .

NLSC Patchers RULES!!!

It's just a minor thing, but I've always liked it in previous versions. If you pause the game, you could see leader in points, boards and assists of both teams. I'd like this to be reincluded :)

if somebody from NLSC already patched this, feel free to tell me

My opinion about NBA live 08...

Postby Sirelde on Wed Jan 30, 2008 2:26 pm

I see many users that say "NBA live 08 it's not a good game, but it's better than 07"... Why? I'd really like to know in what specific way it's better 08 than 07.
Because I think that NBA live 08 it's the same old 07 with new menus.
The bugs in 07 (except for the substitution problem) are back in 08, but with new additions (no moving during free throw rebounding?). The shitty lay-up is still here (players hitting the rim with the ball like they haven't played basketball before). The players can still dunk across the board... Randolph Morris has the same problem with his head that Renaldo Balkman has in 07...

NBA live 08 is the same old NBA live 07 with no visible freestyle superstar, no X-factor, but with hot-spots and new menus...
(Is there a way to make the freestyle superstar moves when I choose to do it? Like pressing the corresponding button in 07?)

I think I'll go back to play my NBA live 07 with the superb SUM mod...
Thank you, guys...

P.S.: Sorry about my english...

There are some improvements but if you're a Dynasty fan there's not much incentive to get NBA Live 08 PC, especially with no fix on the way. There's people in the community doing some fine work of course and I don't want to sell that short but unfortunately we do run into a wall at some point when it comes to some of the game's issues.

Yes, I'm a Dynasty fan, but I like playing the match also.
But what are those improvements on the game? The graphics are the same. There are two or three new movements... You can dunk across the board. You can put your arms within (into?) other players...
Are some of the 07 "during the game bugs" fixed? Which one?

I´m sorry.

But I think we should give up on this.

Remember in 06 (I Think)

They released a patch fixing the camera seettings, that doesn´t get saved.
And when they released the next year, the problem was there again. No way to save camera seetings. It changes do default when u quit the game.

One of the games I love is SEGA´S FOOTBALL MANANAGER. I Don´t if you´re familiar with it, but those guys over there have everything that EA hasn´t. They love to find a bug in their game and correct. They release like 2-3 pacthes per year.

Ea can´t fix NBA LIVE BUGS in 3, 4 years.

I`m sorry people. For those who love to play this game for PC , we are stuck with game that has a "could be so much better" flavor.

That´s What´s EA. Excatly Almost good games.

Sorry for the bad english.

Agreed, it seems highly unlikely now so we can probably give up hope on seeing a patch. Still, I think there's merit in keeping the list here as a reference.

I don´t know if you´re still keeping track of this..

Anyway, I just noticed a bug on the pc version. prolly is old ..

If a player makes a basket after the buzzer it counts.

Also if a player is charged for offensive foul, and still he is able to make a basket, it will count.

I find these bugs playing a game on play now option (PC)

Peace!

Scrazynet, the basket after the buzzer is a common thing, it will count as long as the shot is released after the shot clock(or game clock) expired and the buzzer buzz and about the second one, i will not count that because i get offensive foul but even if my player make a shot it will not count as a basket.
