We begin with questions for Head Coach from the Atlanta Journal Constitution reporters. You there first question.

Chris Vivlamore: Coach, with the injury to Thabo Sefolosha that happened at the hands of NYPD how will the situation be assessed with in comes to basketball?

Coach Bud: He will be brought along slowly because of the severity of his injury. Dude to that fact we are not sure who should be in the starting lineup as of right now In Free Agency the motto was "3 and D" and we feel like that was accomplished with our signings.

Mark Bradley:Coach, you went out of your way to trade the 15th pick in the draft for Tim Hardaway jr. May I ask what was the reason for that? Fans believe that 15th pick could produce more and have more upside than THJ.

Coach Bud: Well we wanted a proven player with potential. We value Tim Hardaway Jr. highly and we have been watching him for some time. Getting so far in the eastern conference with the players we had was a surprise. We wanted to bolster our bench with a player that can fit in our system almost perfectly.

Jeff Schultz: Could you describe the reasoning behind the trade for Tiago Splitter and the acquisition of Justin Holiday?

Coach Bud: Tiago Splitter is the type of player that can come in if you need him and immediately produce. Coming from the Spurs system which is very similar to our own he doesn't have to learn that much. DeMarre Carroll left via free agency and it is going to be hard to replace him. Wilcox and I had a discussion about who would be the best player to mold into DMC 2.0 and we decided it was Justin Holiday. Justin Holiday is already a good defender and has a great shot. We will look for him to add muscle to his slim frame so he could immediately produce.

And with that we conclude this press conference. Go Hawks!

Kent Bazemore catching an Alley after a 360

Hawks win first game of the season in high flying fashion

Recap | Box Score |Highlights Image

MVP: Kent Bazemore scored 19 points off of a 7-10 shooting day. He was flying all over the court tonight. Add to that 2 rebounds 1 assist kent was one step ahead of everyone on the offensive end. Kent Bazemore was also +17 in the metrics

LVP: Thabo Sefolosha let Demar DeRozan score anytime he wanted to and wherever he wanted to. Tonights game was a poor outing for the designated defensive stopper of this hawks squad. Scoring only 6 points Thabo wound up on the negative side of the metrics. Thabo Sefolosha ended the night -11 in the metrics. He is just coming back from his injury so the team will be a bit lenient towards him.

X-Factor: T.I.A.G.O Splitter playing his first game in Atlanta made a definite mark on the fans. Tiago grabbed every rebound possible which gave a big lift to his teammates. Tiago ended the night with 7 points an 12 rebounds 10 of which were defensive. On the defensive end Tiago protected the rim with his life and prevented a lot of scoring on the inside. Tiago maybe in for an increase in minutes.

NLSC Question: I'm looking for someone to fill the 15th spot on the team. They have to fit the culture and also play the 3 spot. Who would yall suggest. Based on youth and potential development?
