Re: Los Angeles Lakers: Rebuilding a Dynasty [16-18] - Week #11 Recap

Postby Kevin on Mon Jul 06, 2015 5:03 pm

I would like to know if any of you guys are interested in participating in sort of like a contest thing where you send me details of the way you want your player to be, what position you want to play, height, weight, etc. so I can at least get some people active around here (if there are any). Just reply here if any of you are interested.

Its going to be like this:

Every week, I'll be giving you questions (a guessing question, probably) about this Dynasty and you will find out the answer after I post the week after that.

I'll be grading you on how close you are to that number and the more and more you are successful at answering the questions, the higher your player is going to be rated.

What do you guys think?

That seems to be a fair way to rate players.

Ok, we now have 5 players (assuming that TGsoGood will "declare" for the draft). Lamrock, TG, Solaris, Me, and Fizz. 5 more and I'll close it.

PS: I was wondering if instead of the first one, I'll do this instead:

Everything will almost be the same except, every point that you get from your answer won't be added to your overall attribute. Instead, you'll have the chance to assign it to any attribute that you want.

For example:

You got 5 points because your answer were correct/the nearest. You'll then have the option to choose where you want to assign those 5 points in your attributes OR you can save it up and spend it later.

What do you guys think?

I'll give it a go as well. And I think this new method of using points is better. That way you can build your player as you see fit.

Re: Los Angeles Lakers: Rebuilding a Dynasty [16-18] - Rose out for the whole season

Rose out for season with another injury

    Image

Derrick Rose is once again, out for the whole season with a broken patella.

We saw some flashes of the 2011 Derrick Rose but unfortunately, it was short-lived as we saw him in pain again on the court.

Rose injured his knee when he went to grab the offensive rebound against Pacers Center Roy Hibbert.

Derrick Rose was having his best season so far after his MVP season. He was averaging 22.7 points per game (his highest since his MVP season), 5.4 rebounds per game (career high), 4.6 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game (another career high)

Another point guard, Marcus Smart, was also already sidelined for the season with a Torn MCL.

If any of you are wondering, you are all going to be in the draft after the next season since I've already used Mellow's Draft Classes for next year.

January Monthly Report

In the Mild, Mild East.....

The New York Knicks continue to impress everybody with their stellar play this season compared to last year’s. Melo and the Knicks are almost going to tie their number of wins last season in just 3 months. The Knicks’ front office tried to strengthen their roster after last season in Free Agency where they signed Russian Center, Timofey Mozgov, Turkish Center Omer Asik, and the former Laker, Andrew Bynum.

Bynum is starting to look like his old self after the Knicks gave him another chance to play in the NBA. He is averaging 13.9 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Excluding the Knicks, the Eastern Conference is still the same with the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers fighting for the 2nd seed; LeBron’s Cavs are just 1 win away from Rose’s Bulls.

Even though Taj Gibson left to join the Utah Jazz, the Bulls didn’t miss him that much when they signed Javale McGee and re-signed Joakim Noah. The Bulls however will miss star point guard Derrick Rose again for the season as Rose broke his patella when they played against the Indiana Pacers last week.

Meanwhile in the Wild, Wild West…

The Golden State Warriors are back to their winning ways as they host a 26-7 record, the first in the NBA, all thanks to Stephen Curry’s performance this season. Curry is averaging 29.1 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, 7.9 assists per game, and 2.4 steals per game while shooting at 46%; all are career highs.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans seems to be the equivalent of the Cavs-Bulls rivalry in the East. Both clubs have been playing good so far.

Even though the Mavs and the Spurs are playing well, one Texas-based team’s season isn’t going as good as they planned it would be. No thanks to Dwight “Mr. Soft” Howard’s performance this season. The former Magic and Laker is averaging career lows this season with 13.1 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are surprisingly tied with the Rockets in W-L. It’ll surprise you more when you hear that more than half (9 out of 13 players) of their players are 23 years old and below. With the exceptions being Kobe Bryant (37), Nick Young (30), DeMarre Carroll (29), and Hassan Whiteside (26).

Monthly Recap Part 2 of 2

Green = Team Leader In...

Player Reviews:

Julius Randle

Randle is one of my favorite players in my current roster, including Bryant, Mudiay, and Embiid. He's my go-to guy in offense and defense. He can shoot the ball beyond the free throw line, he can fade away in the post, he can use his body and foot work to use a hook shot against a taller defender, he can just do it all. I am willing to do anything just to keep this guy here in LA. Except some 40-20 games when he hits his prime later on.

After Kobe retires, he should be the face of this dynasty. He is currently averaging 15.7 ppg, 2.6 org, 10.7 rpg, and 2.3 bpg. Not bad for the former sixth man of the year.

Joel Embiid

Very tall and injury-prone guy. I swear, his sore knee doesn't heal at all. But like Randle, he is skilled offensively although he sometimes gets his ankles broken by the opposing player when he switches because of the pick and roll. I can see him staying here for a long time but I'd rather go and sign another big like Aldridge when the time is right.

Yeah, I figured why not? He hasn't announced that he is retiring in my association so screw it, I'll re-sign him and he seemed very happy about it.

I really hope I can also stick with this story. Actually, this has been the longest I've gotten with my threads for the past couple of years.

Just a little announcement.

I decided that I would play the games alternately by week.

1st week will be played by me.

    2nd week will be simmed.

3rd week will be played by me.

    4th week will be simmed.

I think that's better. What do you guys think?
