Amazing 3rd Quarter Push Heat Past Wizards; 102-90

Image

The whole NBA were gearing up and the fans were cheering like crazy in the sidelines. It was Miami’s first game of the season and they were set to battle the Washington Wizards.

Miami started slow. Wade went to a rough start in the first quarter, he went ¼ when shooting the ball while his other teammates struggled to pass the ball to the open man as the Wizards played the passing lanes. At the end of the first quarter, Miami had already committed 8 turnovers in total.

Miami’s defense in the first half also gave way to 52 points for the Wizards while they only allowed 44 for the Heat.

The Heat also got outrebounded by the Gortat-Nene duo in the paint. The Wizards had 14 offensive rebounds and 22 defensive rebounds in just the first 2 quarters of the game while Miami only had 4 offensive rebounds and 20 defensive rebounds.

Turning Point. 3rd quarter began and Coach Spoelstra wanted to play small ball. He subbed in Napier and (Goran) Dragic to man the Guard spots while Wade and Deng moved to the Small Forward and Power Forward role respectively.

The plan proved to be very effective against the Wizards.

Dragic harassed Beal and Wall and it got to the point where Coach Wittman needed to call 2 timeouts. Both of them combined for 8 turnovers in the 3rd quarter while Dragic had 5 steals. Napier was also able to contribute with his shooting. Whenever Dragic made a steal, he was the first man to go to the corner and call for the ball. Napier’s 8 points all came from the 3rd quarter.

Miami’s newly-formed Big 3 were also responsible for their amazing 3rd quarter comeback. Wade and Deng shot lights out as they combined for 47 points in 20 makes and 35 attempts. Meanwhile, Bosh went crazy as he got to every loose ball and every rebound and finished with an impressive 14 points, 17 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Not seeing any 20-20 games or triple-doubles from Whiteside, I'm disappointed. :P

My next game recaps/reviews are now going to be by Week. Whenever I post a weekly recap, I'll include my players' stats, injury, around the league, etc. Just an FYI since I think the presentation would be much more cleaner and better, I guess. :D

Re: Miami Heat : One Team One Dream [6-1]| Week #2 Results

Postby Kevin on Sun Apr 19, 2015 3:23 am

Week #2 Results:

Harden's late 3-pointer stun Miami; 96-101

Image

Miami led by as much as 22 points going to the fourth quarter but they saw it vanish in front of their eyes.

Harden happened. Miami was just cruising past Houston for the whole 3 quarters but it only took one man and one quarter to turn the game around. James Harden, who was averaging 22.7 points per game, was held to only 12 points by Dwyane Wade. Harden was scoreless in the 2nd quarter and only managed to get 5 points in the 1st and 7 in the 3rd, but it was a different story for him in the fourth. He got hot.

Harden opened the quarter with an and-one dunk over Luol Deng. He followed it up with a sweet lob to Howard and Jones. He hit the 3, his first three of the game, from a fastbreak led by Josh Smith. Harden just chipped away Miami's lead and Miami just couldn't answer back with the same ferocity as Harden.

Crunch Time. 1:53s left in the fourth quarter. James Harden is shooting his 7th and 8th free-throw after he got fouled by Chris Bosh..... Harden makes both. The game is now tied and Coach Spoesltra calls a timeout.

Bosh inbounds the ball to Deng. He motioned for an ISO and he shoots the three..... He got it! Miami now has a 3-point lead with 1:38s remaining in the game.

Harden brings it up the court and finds Jones alone in the corner and he splashes home the trey! Score is now even, 96-96!

Miami has no timeouts left. Wade brings the ball up the court and he called for a pick. Whiteside sets the screen but wait! Illegal screen called on Whiteside! Hassan has now fouled out of the game and the Rockets call time.

Ariza inbounds the ball to Harden. Harden calls the ISO and he's dancing with Wade. Harden fakes right and Wade falls for it... Harden with a step-back three! HE GOT IT! James Harden made the fade-away three-pointer with only 4.3s remaining!

And the game is over!

Great story bro! I also like one with Lakers, but this one is more interesting.
Some advices
1. I agree with sir who said you shall trade bosh back to Toronto. Take Valanciunas, believe me, he is huuge talent
2. Shabazz is future of this team. Give him at least 25 minutes. Dragic is better now, but Shbazz will rise :D
3. Draft. Take at least one lottery pick. 2015 class is great!

Miami sends Zoran Dragic and Chris Andersen to Toronto for Terrence Ross and Chuck Hayes

The rumor mill has been churning in Miami for the last couple of days. They were losing games to low-profile teams and they were struggling to keep up with the loss of Luol Deng last week. There were many names floating around the trade rumors and almost everyone was sure that Miami was going to send Haslem and Chalmers packing before the month ended.

It turns out, it was Zoran, Goran Dragic’s brother, and Chris Andersen who got traded last night. Dragic and Andersen were shipped together to Toronto for Ross and Hayes.

After the trade was announced, the media were reluctant to get a statement from Dwyane Wade but he was nowhere to be found. Miami will start Ross in the Small Forward spot to replace Deng.
