I'll probably make few trades, especially with the Celtics, down the road as situations develop (I have a few in mind)

As a Celtic I hope to see who fits our system and build for the future with draft or trades exploring every scenario

As a Maverick I hope to maximize Dirk's last years and trying to bring him another championship

Hope you guys enjoy it.

Final Thoughts

Image

Player of the game: Rudy Gay - 39p/2r/1a/0s/0b

Raptors shot 56/41/74% and out rebounded 37-34, to put them away in OT

K.Lowry - 13p/2r/11a/2s/0b
T.Hansbrough - 13p/13r/0a/1s/0b

Celtics shot 51/45/84% but faded down the strech mainly due to steez being steez.

J.Crawford(24p/4r/8a/1s/1b) may look good but was very inefficient(9-22, 3-8) and passed only when absolutely necessary. He had a team worst -17. Maybe i can fool some GM into thinking he's good by his stat line.

J.Green(19p/3r/3a/2s/0b) was good and efficient but didn't get the ball enough to make a huge difference.

J.Sullinger(12p/10r/1a/0s/3b) didn't have his shot but contributed in other ways(rebs, blks etc)

A.Bradley(12p/2r/5a/1s/0b) played good but nobody got going in this game

C.Lee(12p/1r/1a/0s/0b) Had a good stretch in the second quarter but played sparingly after that. No one knows why.

P.Pressey(2p/2r/4a/0s/1b) had a decent first game. Look for his minutes to grow.

K.Olynyk(10p/4r/1a/0s/0b) had a promising first game though he did miss some easy shots, but he also made some clutch ones

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Next up Mavericks look to take on Hawks.

Look Forward to the next game.

The Mavs have made some moves to start the season:

First off this extremely lopsided trade suggested by AI:

Image

I mean who would say no to that. Any time you can turn a second rounder into a 1st Pick, You gotta do it.

Next up we needed a Ball handler de-facto backup PG on the bench but who could also play off ball when Harris returns.
Also he acts as a mid level expiring contract to throw in trades if the need arises.

Image

Note I paid him more because I edited the contract to a 2-yr team option(hence the expiring).

This moves Carter back to SF and Carter and Williams can share Bench Ball handling duties.

And pushes Crowder Out of the CROWDED rotation.
Image

We still need a good backup for Nowitzki as Blair is effective only in spot matchups.

Final Thoughts

Image

Player of the game: Samuel Dalembert - 17p/12r/0a/1s/3b

Box Score

Image

Hawks shot 404/27/91% and made a good run in 2nd quarter but were over-matched without their beat player out.

J.Cunningham(33p/2r/1a/4s/1b) killed the defensively inept backcourt of Mavs as he had a career game.
E.Brand(17p/12r/0a/0s/0b) held his own in Horford's absence but it just wasn't enough
J.Teague(6p/1r/8a/2s/1b) had a decent game

Mavericks shot 50/41/83% and were able to handle the Hawks with relative ease though defense in the backcourt is an issue with Marion as the only wing defender available.

M.Ellis(18p/2r/4a/1s/0b) was horrible to start the game but improved down the strech

S.Dalembert(17p/12r/0a/1s/3b) took advantage of the small Hawks frontcourt (scoring 17 on 7-8 FG )and had a good game before fouling out.

V.Carter(15p/6r/7a/1s/1b) had the best overall game out of any Maverick especially his 2 long passes for easy buckets and buzzer beater 3 at the end of third Q

D.Nowitzki(15p/8r/1a/0s/2b) had an efficient 15 and 8 with rest of the teammates supporting. He needs to have nights off to prepare for the nights when he has to be THE man. He did play good defense on Millsap though

S.Marion(4p/8r/3a/1s/2b) was a monster defensively stopping Millsap from going off. Too bad we have only one of those.

J.Calderon(13p/3r/2a/0s/1b) had a good game helping to set up offense.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

We still need a wing defender and adequate backup for Nowitzki But the offensive potential for this team is very high. We just need some defense.

Next up Mavericks visit Rockets in a one game road trip.

Look Forward to the next game.

Final Thoughts

Player of the game: D.Howard - 20p/14r/0a/1s/0b

Rockets shot 59/63/77% and Cruised to an easy win despite the late scare.

D.Howard(20p/14r/0a/1s/0b) had a field day against the weak Maverick front line but fouled out without anyone realising he was in foul trouble.

J.Harden(20p/5r/8a/0s/1b) had a reletively quiet 36 nimutes before taking over in the fourth to put the Mavs away

F.Garcia(17p/0r/0a/0s/0b) Frankly I have no words. This guy just comes out of nowhere, hits 4 three pointers rather quickly, gets burried on the bench, comes back, makes another one and never checks back again. wut?

Mavericks shot 49/48/75% and showed perfectly when a junpshooting team's jumpshots are not going in. Nontheless They stuck around despite what might be the worst game in Dirk's career.

M.Ellis(25p/4r/9a/0s/0b) he had a good game which would have been enough if Dirk would have showed up.

V.Carter(20p/3r/6a/1s/2b) Had a reletively quiet game before caching fire in the fourth and putting a scare in the Rockets fans.

D.Nowitzki(15p/4r/0a/0s/1b) contrary to what may seem, he had a very bad game(4-14) and scored mostly through errant freethrows(so thats where all the Fouls on Howaed came from)

S.Dalembert(9p/9r/0a/0s/0b) is not enough to be a starting center on a championship caliber team. Better off the bench

J.Calderon(14p/0r/2a/1s/1b) his highlight(or rather lowlight) of the game was his 2 missed 3s at the end of the game.

S.Marion(5p/3r/2a/1s/0b) controlled Marion for 3 quarters but ran out of gas till the 4th. this dude needs help(in a wing defender AND Nowitzki's backup)

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

After this Heartbreaking loss, we shift our focus to Boston where Celtics vs Bucks will be covered next.

Look Forward to the next game.

IMPORTANT(for those who are following this series(basically only me))I am making a change in format. From now on, instead of a play-by-play, it will be a sort of only important parts/highlights and the general direction of the game.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics

Starting Lineups

Celtics - J.Crawford-A.Bradley-J.Green-B.Bass-J.Sullinger
Bucks - B.Knight-O.J.Mayo-C.Butler-E.Ilyasova-E.Udoh

Injury report

R.Rondo --- Torn ACL -- Out/2-4 Months

K.Bogans --- Suspended -- Out/Season

L.Sanders --- Suspended -- Out/8-10 Weeks

The Bucks have made some moves in the offseason and are once again looking to make the playoffs as a potential 8th or 7th seed.

Lets see how they fare with their star Center sidelined with a suspension

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1st Quarter

Celtics lost the tip(predictably) and Green got into foul trouble early.

Crawford started to heat up and came down funny on his ankle and had to be subbed out. This is the first actual In-Game injury I have seen in 2K14 and he didn't even lay down :-(

Image

Image

Celtics halfcourt offense is terrible with mostly the ballhandler having to settle with a contested J.

Most of the Celtic offense came on Steal n Breaks.

Steez steals and dishes to Bass for the Dunk

Image

Image

Image

Image

Wallace steal and dish to Pressey

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Kelly steal and dish Pressey

Image

Image

El Hombre Indestructble knocks the ball loose and Lee goes coast to coast

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Steez did return to the court near the end so hopefully it's nothing serious(Hurts his trade value).

Meanwhile the Bucks are getting to the foul line a lot and putting pressure on our best defenders.

Green and Bradley with 2 fouls each.

Lee is having a great game with his ability to defend, hit the three and finish inside. Might be time to ship him off to a contender.

J.Sullinger - 8p/8r/0a/0s/0b
J.Crawford - 7p/2r/3a/2s/0b

C.Butler - 18p/5r/1a/1s/0b

Not sure if Both Teams Good Defensively or Both Teams Bad Offensively

The Celtics have taken over the second quarter defending the Bucks effectively while running on the break

Sully is on double double watch and had a couple of nice putback layups and Lee is having a great game

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

3rd Quarter

It was a good defensive quarter for the Celtics with raining blocks.

Sully Denies

Image

Bradley with a couple of blocks

Green Turnover and gets it back

Image

Image

Image

Sully had a couple of pretty hook shots and had his double-double midway through the third

4th Quarter

It was a typical Eastern Conference 4th quarter with sloppy plays, turnovers, missed layups etc.

Vitor hit a weird hook shot early in the game

Image

Image

Image

Green blocks on one end and Bradley finishes a And-1 layup.

Image

Image

The Celtics head o head, play for play in the fourth. Of course it didn't hurt to be up by 20 going into the 4th quarter.

Bucks played decent in the first half. Then they realized that they are the Bucks after which it was a one sided game all the way even against the average offense of the Celtics

Celtics played their game, ran on the break and won against an inferior, shorthanded team. Note to the other GMs: LOOK, LOOK STEEZ CAN RUN A DECENT OFFENSE IN BACKUP MINUTES. CALL NOW AND WE'LL THROW IN BROOKS TO WARM SEATS FOR YOU WITHOUT ANY EXTRA CHARGES.

Next up, the Mavericks take on Grizzlies in an important matchup as both these teams are projected be competing for the last few spots in the playoffs.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Dallas Mavericks

Starting Lineups

Mavericks - Calderon--Ellis--Marion--Nowitzki--Dalembert
Grizzlies - Conley--Allen--Prince--Z.Randolph--M.Gasol

Injury report

S.Larkin --- Sprained Ankle -- Out/2-4 Weeks

D.Harris --- Knee -- Out/2-4 Months

B.Wright --- Hand -- Out/6-8 Weeks

The offensive minded Mavs take on a defensive minded division rivals in Grizzlies.

Exactly the type of games Mavs must win to contend for a decent playoff spot(Both teams are projected for those lower mid Playoff spots)

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1st Quarter

The Mavericks start slow. I mean REALLY slow with14-3 deficient with 8 min remaining in the quarter.
Ellis for one is struggling to score against Tony Allen.

Our Co-Sixth Men(Blair-Carter) check in and we immediately go on a run tying the game with 3 min remaining.

Mavericks are good on fast breaks and good iin halfcourt only if their jumpshots are falling.

Here is a quick thinking play from Ellis

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

End of 1st

Image

Mavericks are hanging in this game with the sheer volume of shots they are able to get up.

Ellis recovering down the strech after a slow start - 13p/2r/3a/0s/0b
Carter(4p/0r/2a/0s/0b) and Blair (4p/4r/0a/0s/0b) giving a nice boost off the bench

Conley scoring at will (7p/1r/1a/0s/0b)
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

2nd Quarter

Ellis with minor foul trouble with 3 fouls to start the 2nd.

Mavericks run a nice misdirection play for Dirk which worked to perfection

Image

Image

Image

Image

Mavs Offense exploded with 3s from Ellington, Dirk, Carter and Ellis.
Also their Defense imploded giving Bayless 3 3s.

Ellis with a nice drive

Halftime Report.

Ellis with 18p/2r/3a/0s/0b and picking up first quarter slack
Carter - 13p/0r/3a/0s/1b and a nice boost
Nowitzki - 12p/1r/0a/1s/0b and starting to come around after a quiet first quarter

Bayless with 11 points in 11 minutes.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

3rd Quarter

Marion had a nice block on Z-Bo

Image

Ellis in foul trouble with 5 fouls to start with 9 mins to go.

With Ellis on the bench, Carter takes over the game scoring 6 consecutive and 10 in the Quarter.

Dalembert Rejects Z-Bo.

Image

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

End of 3rd

Image

Carter - 23p/0r/3a/0s/1b and filling the bench scoring gap nicely. Imagine the trio of Harris, Carter and Wright scoring off the bench.
Ellis - 21p/6r/7a/0s/0b and partially taking over the game but is in deep foul trouble going into the fourth.
Nowitzki - 18p/2r/0a/2s/2b and doing Nowitzkian things like streching the floor, punishing defenders for sagging off and opening lanes for Ellis and Carter
Blair - 6p/7r/0a/0s/0b and bought energy and hustle off the bench

Grizzlies meanwhile with a balanced attack with 5 players in double digets led by Conley with 14p/1r/8a/1s/0b

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

4th Quarter

Ellis fouled out with 8 minutes to go in the 4th.
Thankfully we have another hot player to replace his production in the game.

Grizzlies went on a few short run but the Mavs negated anything they had to throw at them riding out the lead through the quarter.

Final Thoughts

Player of the game: M.Ellis - 23p/6r/7a/0s/0b

Box Score

Grizzlies played good enough to win against half of the teams. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to beat a red hot Mavericks.

M.Conley(21p/4r/9a/1s/0b) had a great game in a hard fought loss

Mavericks started slow but gradually got Hotter and Hotter and eventually scorched the Grizzlies out of the game.

V.Carter(27p/2r/4a/s0/1b) played great off the bench(season high 27 in 29 minutes) and eventually filling in for Ellis in the 4th.

D.Nowitzki(26p/3r/0a/3s/2b) had a normal game as per his standards and was a key in the victory

M.Ellis(23p/6r/7a/0s/0b) had a nice carry over effect from last game but was cut shot with fouls.

S.Marion(10p/7r/0a/0s/2b) had a good defensive game limiting Prince and eventually Conley from breaking out.

J.Calderon(8p/1r/8a/2s/0b) had a quiet 8n8 and let others carry the heavy load

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Mavericks win a Division game which they should absolutely win to stay in the playoffs in the toughest division of the NBA

Next, Celtics travel to the Motor city to take on the Pistons

Look Forward to the next game.

Boston Celtics @ Detroit Pistons

Starting Lineups

Celtics - Crawford--Bradley--Green--Bass--Sullinger
Pistons - Jennings--Stuckey--Smith--Monroe--Drummond

Injury report

R.Rondo --- Torn ACL -- Out/2-4 Months

K.Bogans --- Suspended -- Out/Season

Going against the huge frontline of the undefeated Pistons is sure to hurt us on the boards and the paint.
Hopefully we can pack the paint enough to negate that.

First possession of the game and they are already throwing lobs. *sigh* This is gonna be a looong game.

Bench comes in, atacks the rim and makes it a ball game. Part of it is Jennings is a shooter. Part of it is the open lanes they are getting.

Box Score

Pistons are a wannabe playoff contenders but they let a half decent team of misfits hang around till the final buzzer before their PG bailed them out.

J.Jennings(28p/4r/10a/1s/0b) was having a decent game before he decided to take over and take this game back. Could have gone either way as he chugged 3s but i guess it was his lucky day.

J.Smith(22p/4r/1a/2s/0b) carried them most of the game keeping it close enough for THE JENNINGS PHENOMINA to occur.

G.Monroe(13p/12r/0a/1s/0b) was really good overall. The Celtics are keeping their eye on him as a potential trade target or a free agency target.

A.Drummond(13p/9r/3a/1s/2b) was good blocking some shots, grabbing some boards, Terrifying some children with the dunks.

Celtics hung around most of the game but a Jennings vs Steez shootout (won by Jennings ofcourse) in the 4th killed them.

J.Green(32p/2r/4a/2s/2b) Played like a superstar, attacking the rack, shooting good, handeling the ball and playing defense.

J.Sullinger(13p/9r/2a/4s/0b) one of the only 2 players who wanted a win badly and almost got it. Still definitely someone you wanna keep around.

K.Humphries(0p/7r/2a/0s/0b) Beasted on the boards off the bench

K.Olynyk(6p/5r/0a/0s/1b) played decent and could be a starter in limited matchups. look for more of him down the strech

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Injury report

R.Rondo --- Torn ACL -- Out/2-4 Months

K.Bogans --- Suspended -- Out/Season

Celtics go up against the winless Grizzlies. I just have a feeling Gasol-Randolph frontcourt is gonna destroy us.

Steez starts the game hot, scoring first 7 Celtic points including this ankle breaker

Pretty neck to neck game in the 1st before a late small run by the Celtics.

2nd Quarter

Randolph is getting hot again starting the second.

Lee is playing good defense and solid on offense. the more he plays, the more i don't wanna trade him.

Conley has his Revenge on Steez(though not as sweet as he would have liked).

Bayless taking over scoring 7 quick points to keep the game close.

4th Quarter

Grizzlies with a 6-0 run to start the quarter

Grizzlies cap off a 16-6 run to take the lead with 7 min remaining

Celtics briefly take a 5 pt lead before committing stupid turnovers to give it up

It was a pretty neck to neck game with Grizzlies with a 1 pt lead before this

and this

Then it was game over.

Final Thoughts

Image

Player of the game: M.Conley - 39p/2r/3a/1s/0b

Box Score

Image

Grizzlies were pretty bad on offense except for Conley who repeatedly attacked this low defense frontline of the Celtics.

They also controlled the paint heavily and executed down the strech to grab the first win of the season.

M.Conley(39p/2r/3a/1s/0b) torched the Celtics going for a career high 39 points and taking over the second half.

Z.Randolph(21p/6r/0a/3s/0b) worked the post with excelence.

T.Allen(5p/6r/4a/3s/0b) provided a little bit of everything against his longtime former team.

Celtics were pretty good but not good enough as they made some very poor turnovers (lowlighted be Bass) to throw a surprisingly winnable game away.

C.Lee(20p/3r/0a/3s/0b) was the best player on the Celtics coming off the bench and putting on a show

K.Olynyk(10p/6r/0a/1s/1b) had a good game showing some flashes of the post scoring potential. Now all he has to do is add some strength and muscle and he coulld be a very good player.

P.Pressey(2p/1r/8a/0s/0b) had a great game distributing the ball. Look for his role to expand going forward.

J.Crawford(16p/3r/4a/3s/0b) had a decent game stat wise but the amount of blow bys he gave to Conley were unacceptable.

J.Sullinger(14p/4r/0a/0s/1b) did not stuff the stat sheet but played very good defense on Gasol to keep him from being a very big factor

K.Humphries(6p/5r/1a/1s/2b) is exactly the type of player I would want on my team going forward.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Final Thoughts

Player of the game:M.Ellis - 33p/3r/8a/3s/0b

Box Score

Image

Lakers had one good quarter where they played good defense and made shots on offense. The last quarter was an abomination which clearly needed Kobe.

N.Young(23p/4r/0a/1s/0b) scored only because of bieng the first option and taking a ton of shots.

S.Blake(13p/3r/6a/0s/0b) is a decent backup at best.

Mavericks had a collapse in the second quarter but handled the rest of the game fairly easily.

M.Ellis(33p/3r/8a/3s/0b) had his bet game as a Maverick and is developing a nice chemistry with Dirk and Jose.

D.Nowitzki(22p/4r/1a/1s/0b) played good playing off Monta and picking his spots.

S.Dalembert(7p/13r/1a/0s/2b) did what was required of him, rebounding the ball and controlling the paint defensively.

J.Calderon(15p/3r/7a/1s/1b) had a very Jose type game, scoring some points, dropping some dimes, limiting turnovers.

V.Carter(9p/2r/3a/3s/1b) was the plughole type player you want on your team. He did whatever was lacking whenever he was on the court, weather it was playing defense, scoring, assisting, blocking shots, massaging teammates, etc.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Utah Jazz @ Boston Celtics

Starting Lineups

Celtics - P.Pressey--A.Bradley--J.Green--Sullinger--K.Olynyk
Jazz - J.Lucas--A.Burks--R.Jefferson--D.Favours--E.Kanter

Injury report

R.Rondo --- Torn ACL -- Out/2-4 Months

K.Bogans --- Suspended -- Out/Season

J.Crawford --- Sprained Foot -- Out/Day-to-Day

G.Hayward --- Strained Achilles -- Out/1-2 Weeks

T.Burke --- Sore Foot -- Out/2-4 Weeks

Celtics go up against he no. 30 raked offense and no. 30 ranked defense who have lost the last 4 games.

Ofcourse Celtics are on a 2 game skid themselves.

Kelly and Phill get the nod over Crawford and Bass as I just realised Crawford had been injured and Pressy has been playing well lately and I wanted to try out the Jelly Sullynyk frountcourt.

Lets get started

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Celtics had a regular quarter in this ugly game featuring 2 bottom 10 teams.

P.Pressey - 11p/2r/1a/0s/0b - Comming alive in the second quarter
C.Lee - 10p/1r/0a/2s/0b
J.Sullinger - 5p/4r/0a/1s/0b
J.Green - 8p/2r/3a/0s/0b

The Jazz continue to try and fail to execute a good offense. Although Favours and Burks are very good.

D.Favours - 9p/3r/0a/0s/0b
A.Burks - 9p/0r/0a/0s/1b

Jazz were simply overmatched and seem to be a lock for a top 3 pick in June.

D.Favours(19p/7r/1a/0s/3b) One half of the only two bright spots for the Jazz

A.Burks(14p/2r/0a/1s/1b) The other bright spot, you except the top 3 pick

Celtics Won this ugly game thankfully ending it.

C.Lee(23p/3r/1a/3s/0b) played very good. Now I want him on the Mavs.

J.Sullinger(17p/8r/2a/1s/1b) struggled a bit against the more athletic Favours but it might have been an Off day.

K.Humphries(2p/8r/1a/0s/1b) is staying for the right price this offseason

J.Green(14p/4r/5a/0s/0b) was a surprisingly good passer now that he has the ball in his hand more.

K.Olynyk(8p/7r/0a/1s/1b) had a solid game for his first start of the season.

J.Crawford(13p/3r/3a/2s/0b) had a turnover free game off the bench. Lets see a few more games on how he does off the bench before inevitably trading him.

M.Brooks(0p/0r/0a/0s/0b) Did absolutely nothing in the 6 minutes he played. Literaly Nothing.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Player of the game:M.Ellis - 27p/2r/2a/0s/1b

Thunder were not able to perform at their natural level. Probably an off day cos the Mavs aint that good a defensive team.

K.Durant(25p/7r/6a/2s/2b) did whatever he could to get the win but none of his teammates showed up.

K.Perkins(14p/6r/4a/0s/1b) You know you are going to loose when Perk is yor second highest scorer.

Mavericks were a disjointed team in the first but Ellis was able to muster up and get the win.

M.Ellis(27p/2r/2a/0s/1b) was invisible in the first half(like the rest of the Mavs team) but got it going in the second and got the win.

V.Carter(14p/0r/2a/1s/0b) was the only one going in the first quarter and held the fort until help in the form of Ellis arrived.

D.Nowitzki(14p/6r/1a/1s/0b) was decent. Made some shots but dident take over the game.

D.Blair(2p/8r/0a/0s/0b) Is a Rebounding BEAST.

J.Calderon(11p/3r/8a/2s/1b) palyed his game. Assist-No Turnover-Make Open Shots.

Plus Kudos to Marion and Carter to Keep Durant from Exploding on us.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Notice:- Celtics have made some moves, trading Crawford and Brooks for Bayless and a 14 1st Round pick from Grizzlies.

For the Celtics, its picking a 1st rounder and solidifying its PG rotation especially after a sub par showing from Pressey in the starting unit.

For the Grizzlies, Its solidifying its wing rotation which features a broken down Miller and Pondexter.

Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic

Starting Lineups

Celtics - J.Bayless--A.Bradley--J.Green--Sullinger--K.Olynyk
Magic - J.Nelson--A.Afflalo--T.Harris--A.Nicholson--N.Vucevic

Injury report

R.Rondo --- Torn ACL -- Out/1-2 Months

K.Bogans --- Suspended -- Out/Season

G.Davis --- Knee Surgery -- Out/1-2 Weeks

Celtics take on the Magic who are on a 2 game winning streak.

This is the first of a back to back game on the road.

Olynyk gets another start at the C after a good showing previous game. That ofcourse means we are not winning another jumpball ever again.

Lets get started

Celtics are spreading the floor and finding open buckets specially from Lee.

Also Olynyk in the post is a good fail-safe for broken plays.

Magic are scoring in the post with Vucevic and scoring off the mis-matches that their Harris is creating.

Also Jameer Nelson cant get anything going against Bradley. Probably his lest favourite game to play.

Final Thoughts

Player of the game: J.Bayless - 21p/3r/3a/1s/0b

Box Score

Magic started off decent but faltered down the strech especially in the 4th.

J.Nelson(18p/4r/5a/2s/0b) was bullied by Bradley ALL THE TIME they shared the floor. If the 6 turnovers dont do justice to the level that Nelson was brought down to, maybee -22 +/- rating will do.

Celtics played what an average team would play and would have lost to half of the East and ALL OF THE WEST. Tust tells you the level of Magic(Lottery)

J.Bayless(21p/3r/3a/1s/0b) Not a bad first game. He is a player to keep an eye on as a potential backup guard in competion with Pressey.

J.Green(19p/3r/3a/2s/1b) had a nice all around game and could be made a case for the player of the game.

A.Bradley(6p/4r/1a/0s/2b) his box score may not show a lot but he TORMENTED Nelson all night and disrupted all their offense.

C.Lee(14p/0r/0a/0s/0b) had a euper efficient scoring outburst going 6/7 from the field.

J.Sullinger(13p/10r/0a/1s/0b) had a nice outing aulthough the 'strech 4s' of Magic did give him some trouble.

K.Olynyk(10p/4r/1a/0s/0b) had another decent outing though he needs to work on his defense if he hopes to remain a starter.

B.Bass(6p/4r/4a/1s/0b) had a nice outing with a surprise 4 assists.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Player of the game: M.Ellis - 23p/4r/7a/0s/0b

Box Score

Image

Timberwolves Played good, never falling behind too much but never able to get ahead too. in the end, some good runs but they were just overmached.

J.J.Barea(25p/2r/6a/0s/1b) got kinda-sorta hot from 3, coupled with his penetration, coupled with Jose defending him made it a very easy game for him.

K.Love(8p/14r/1a/0s/2b) was shut down by all the diffrent looks the mavs were throwing at him.

A.Shved(14p/1r/2a/0s/0b) got clutch and made one last push but ultimately lost. Still, full marks for effort.

Mavericks Gave up a super late run but did enough to come up with a win.

M.Ellis(23p/4r/7a/0s/0b) had a very good game, exploiting T-Wolves lack of perimeter defense and playing drive n kick with Jose and Vince.

D.Nowitzki(23p/6r/1a/2s/1b) came up absolutely clutch giving a vintage performance aulthough he did get exausted in the 4th.

V.Carter(14p/4r/2a/2s/0b) had a nice game, making something happen all over the court and made the game sealing J and the gmae sealing freethrows. Also he had a Vintage VC Oop Dunk

S.Dalembert(9p/9r/0a/0s/1b) held his own against Nikola 'THE MAN' Pekovic.

D.Blair(2p/8r/0a/0s/0b) and B.James(7p/4r/0a/1s/0b) took advantage of a weak bench frontline enroute to nice games.

J.Calderon(6p/2r/2a/1s/0b) was cold shooting 2 of 10 for a forgetable outing.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Next up, the Celtics go on the road to take on the Heat in a rivalry matchup.

Look Forward to the next game.

Dallas Mavericks @ Milwaukee Bucks

Starting Lineups

Mavericks - J.Calderon--M.Ellis--S.Marion--D.Nowitzki--S.Dalembert
Bucks - B.Knight--O.J.Mayo--C.Butler--E.Ilyasova--E.Udoh.

Injury report

S.Larkin --- Sprained Ankle -- Out/1-2 Weeks

D.Harris --- Knee -- Out/1-2 Months

B.Wright --- Hand -- Out/4-6 Weeks

L.Sanders --- Suspended -- Out/8-10 Weeks

A fairly easy matchup and another living testemont in Ilyasova to the impact of Dirk on the game.

Also Monta returns to Milwaukee for the first time while Mayo faces his old team for the first time. Lets see who got the better part of the switch

V.Carter - 12p/2r/1a/0s/1b
D.Nowitzki - 8p/3r/0a/0s/0b

Bucks game normalising a bit(if you can call it that) for the Bucks who looked more and more like the Bucks we know and hate

C.Delfino - 11p/1r/2a/2s/0b
O.J.Mayo - 11p/3r/0a/0s/0b
B.Knight - 0p/2r/4a/0s/1b

Final Thoughts

Image

Player of the game: Monta Ellis - 28p/9r/17a/1s/0b

Box Score

Image

Bucks had a monster first quarter but eventually leveled out over the course of the game.

E.Udoh(20p/8r/0a/0s/1b) had a surprisingly good game. Wondering if this makes Sanders expendable.

O.J.Mayo(17p/3r/3a/2s/1b) had a decent game. Still dont want him though.

B.Knight(14p/3r/10a/0s/1b) had a good game. But it was against Jose, so it was essentially meaningless

Mavericks got down early but rallied behind Monta to eventually blow out the game.

M.Ellis(28p/9r/17a/1s/0b) Dont for a secont think that this game would have been won without Monta TAKING OVER this game. One rebound shy of a triple double. Pretty good for a 6'3" guy.

D.Nowitzki(31p/7r/0a/0s/0b) recipent of many of the 17 assists of Monta, Dirk had a pretty monsterous game himself aulthough it was shadowed by Monta's performance.

V.Carter(19p/6r/2a/1s/1b) had some pretty timely shots and became a good running mate for Monta off the bench.

S.Dalembert(11p/8r/1a/1s/0b) had a decent game especially in 23 minutes.

Everyone else had a Decent game.

Mavs are now on a 5 game winning streak.

Next up, the Celtics take on the Magic in Boston.

Orlando Magic @ Boston Celtics

Starting Lineups

Celtics - J.Bayless--A.Bradley--J.Green--J.Sullinger--K.Olynyk
Magic - J.Nelson--A.Afflalo--T.Harris--A.Nicholson--N.Vucevic

Injury report

R.Rondo --- Torn ACL -- Out/1-2 Months

K.Bogans --- Suspended -- Out/Season

G.Davis --- Knee surgery -- Out/1-2 Weeks

One on of the "Rivalries" of the NBA 2k Logic, the Celtics have little to throw on Vucevic. Afflalo on the other hand can be controlled.

Boston got the better of their previous matchup. Just what the doctor ordered after that Miami blowout

Look for Bradley to give Nelson a Hard time again.

Magic I dont even have words for it.

J.Nelson(20p/4r/7a/2s/0b) scored 20 points cos someone had to score points

Celtics The Celtics won, The Basketball World Lost.

J.Sullinger(9p/11r/0a/2s/3b) had a good game and actually blocked 3 shots. Defensive liability my ass.

K.Olynyk(11p/12r/0a/0s/0b) had surprisingly good performance on defense on Vucevic, and on the boards.

A.Bradley(16p/1r/0a/0s/1b) had a very efficient scoring game and looked solid overall.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

Thank god it's over.

Next, the Mavs host the Wizards.

Please Look Forward to the next game.

Starting Lineups

Mavericks - J.Calderon--M.Ellis--S.Marion--D.Nowitzki--S.Dalembert

Injury report

S.Larkin --- Sprained Ankle -- Out/1-2 Weeks

D.Harris --- Knee -- Out/1-2 Months

B.Wright --- Hand -- Out/4-6 Weeks

Going up against a middle of the eastern conference playoff team, It should be a fairly easy win.

But their backcourt is a strength and ours is a liability offensively which can make things interesting

Final Thoughts

Player of the game:Monta Ellis - 24p/4r/12a/1s/1b

Box Score

Image

Wizards made a game out of it especially late but the veteran execution, hot shooting and bench depth of the Mavs proved too much to overcome. And that was with 2 key rotation players out with Injury. #excited

J.Wall(27p/5r/6a/2s/0b) had a great game. Against Calderon. Which doesnt count. So there's no point here. Move on.

T.Ariza(20p/5r/2a/1s/0b) flew under the radarwiith a good game.

Mavericks were simply the better team. One wierd stat was mavs blocking edge 12-0. A very promising sign.

M.Ellis(24p/4r/12a/1s/1b) had a good game for three quarters but along with the rest of the starters couldnt get anything going in the 4th. Fortunately, the bench came through.

T.Williams(14p/3r/2a/2s/1b) had a few crucial buckets late game to control the bleeding and right the ship for the bench.

V.Carter(16p/3r/5a/1s/0b) did exactly what he needs to do. Score during the dry spells and keep the ship afloat.

D.Nowitzki(11p/6r/1a/0s/2b) got the much needed rest with Ellis and the bench carrying much of the load.

S.Marion(16p/4r/1a/0s/0b) with no superstar to shut down, even Marion got some points in easy.

S.Dalembert(7p/7r/1a/1s/5b) was a wall out there, shutting the paint down and getting the ball upcourt early to initiate transition offense.

J.Calderon(4p/4r/6a/1s/0b) had a rare off night and still put up good numbers.

W.Ellington(p/r/a/s/b) part of that late game push.

Everyone else had a forgettable game.

With that, the Mavs are on a 6 game winning streak with a 2 day rest for a matchup against Heat.

Next up, Celtics vs Bobcats for an extreme contrast of this game.

Look Forward to the next game.
