Bulls Continue hot start and Down the Magic 115-111 to go 3-1 on the season

Image
Another game comes down to the wire and Captain Kirk comes to the rescue again with some big shots

The Bulls continue racking up the numbers from deep early this season as Hinrich nailed 3 3's had 13 assists with Gordon getting 29 points and hitting 5-6 from downtown for the second time this season. Kirk's 33 was 1 shy of his career high against New York in 2005. He also put up an impressive 4 blocks and 3 steals to go along with a dominating offensive performance.

The front court of Dwight Howard and Darko Milicic kept the Magic in it the whole way though as Dwight put up 33 points 9 boards and Darko put up 25 and 16. Jameer Nelson contributed 17 points and 9 dimes as well. Hedo Turkoglu is listed day to day with a dislocated finger and did not play.
With the way their back court is playing we will see if the 3-1 Bulls can keep up this hot start.

The Matrix's near perfect game gives Phoenix the W

Image
The Matrix Dominated the Bulls D
Both teams were on fire offensively, but the Suns got the edge behind Shawn Marion's 10-11 shooting night and willed their way to the line getting 13 more free throw attempts than Chicago. Scott Skiles the end of the game said that "We shot the ball well, but we can't get to the line and our effort on defense was lazy and uninspired".

Free throws have been a problem early this season as the bulls are 27th in free throw % and last in the league in Free throw efficiency. It was however another great game for the Chicago back court as Ben Gordon put up 36 points and Kirk Hinrich had a career high 17 assists.

Looking real nice so far, good presentation!

I really liked the '07 Bulls, even though they swept my Heat in the Playoffs. Gordon is beasting. (Y)

Manu Tears MCL will miss rest of season

Image
Heartbreak for a struggling Spurs team as they lose a key component of their squad.

Ginobli went down early in the first quarter during a game in Sacramento. Scans revealed the Manu severely tore his Medial collateral ligament also known as the MCL. The Spurs were having a slow start to this season, but this will be a devastating blow to San Antonio's ability to contend this season. Manu like his team had a slow start averaging 11.3 PPG on 41% shooting.

In an interview Greg Popovich said "Don't count us out; expect the rest of this team to play with extra passion and fire".

This will also likely mean the end of any title hopes and the 7 season 50 win season streak the Spurs were hoping to continue.

Bulls win defensive fight on the backs of Gordon and Hinrich

Image
The back court combo of Gordon and Hinrich is an overwhelming force.

It was a slow paced defensive match up that the Bulls love with their defensive prowess. Hinrich led the way for Chicago with 22 points, 11 assists and a very impressive 7 steals while Gordon pitched in 21 points and 6 boards.

Hinrich in the post game interview said "Ben and I are just in the zone. It feels really good when you can shoot that well consistently and I know coach is happy that our shooting stroke is helping the team win games".

The Blazers rookie LaMarcus Aldridge played well against the team that drafted him putting up 20 points and 13 rebounds. Jarrett Jack and Travis Outlaw each scored 19 points as well.

This win means the Bulls have won 7 of their first 10 games and will look to continue rolling along as the end of November is in sight.
