Yeah you would hope so for All Rookie. I would think any rookie that is pushing 10apg and has his team with such a record should be getting the ROY award. I forget, did you replace Lawson due to injury or promotion?

Injury, he's out for the season. I had made my way into the starting lineup at shooting guard, but got the opportunity at point guard when he went down.

No blog entry or videos this time around, though I'll have at least one more update before the Playoffs begin so the blog at least should be back then.

Man that is an impressive record. I wonder if you are going to break the elusive record, my money is backing ya.

I would have thought you would be in the running for MVP, to push your team to that record, as probably the most important player on your team, especially during that run......

I checked after playing another game last night and I'm now second behind Iggy in the MVP race, first in the ROY race. If we finish the season on a winning streak and I can keep the double-double streak going, possibly getting one last Rookie of the Month award, I'm guessing he'll get MVP and I'll get ROY. Would be pretty cool if I could somehow get both but I don't think it'll happen.

Big update here to end the regular season.

Denver Nuggets make history in season finale
April 18th, 2013

DENVER, CO -- In front of a frenzied crowd at the Pepsi Center, the Denver Nuggets made league history as they defeated the Phoenix Suns 127-90 to win their 73rd game, eclipsing the 72-10 record set by Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls during the 1995/1996 season. The Nuggets were led by Andre Iguodala, who scored 33 points to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists, as well as rookie Andrew Begley who scored a career high 22 points while adding five rebounds and 18 assists.

Before this year, the best record the Nuggets had compiled in an NBA season was 54-28, which they reached in both the 1988 and 2009 seasons. As a member of the ABA, they posted a 65-16 record during the 1975 season before losing in the Division Finals.

Two Nuggets rumoured to be among award winners
April 18th, 2013

DENVER, CO -- Although the winners of the 2013 Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year awards have yet to be officially announced, rumour has it they have been won by Denver Nuggets players Andre Iguodala and Andrew Begley respectively. Iguodala has enjoyed a fine first season in Denver, averaging 22.6 ppg, 5.4 apg and 6.0 apg while shooting a blistering 65.1% from the field and 56.9 % from three point range during the course of the year, leading the Nuggets to a record setting 73-9 season.

Starting in place of the injured Ty Lawson at point guard, Begley has also had an impressive year. He has tallied four 20+ assist games including a club record 24 assists against the Chicago Bulls, been named Western Conference Rookie of the Month three times and finished second in the league with 10.4 apg, while also adding 10.8 ppg on 51.7% shooting, along with a solid 4.7 rpg, 1.3 spg and 0.5 bpg. He also had a streak of 27 straight double-doubles before falling one assist short against the Portland Trailblazers on April 14th.

An immediately popular player in Denver where he is affectionately known as A-Train, many were surprised when Begley was not named Rookie of the Month for April after posting averages of 15.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 14.3 apg, 1.6 spg and 0.5 bpg while shooting an amazing 76% from the field, 71.4% from downtown and 85.7% from the free throw line.

Iguodala was an All-Star for the first time last season while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, the team that drafted him in 2004. He was dealt to Denver in the trade that sent Andrew Bynum to the 76ers and former Orlando Magic center to the Los Angeles Lakers this past offseason, following his successful stint with the USA basketball team that captured gold at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

On Track With A-Train

Follow the life of an NBA rookie with our top pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Aussie Andrew "A-Train" Begley!

April 18th, 2013

Image
A-Train and the Nuggets raced ahead of Goran Dragic and the Suns to win their record 73rd game of the season

Bring on the Playoffs!

Morale couldn't be higher right now after we finished the regular season making history. Once again, it feels weird to have broken a record set by the team that was my favourite growing up, but I'm immensely proud of what we've been able to accomplish so far. Still a long way to go though; although this has obviously earned us a place in the record books, it doesn't mean nearly as much without a ring to go with it.

There's a lot of buzz and excitement at the moment and a lot of you have been hitting me up on Twitter with some questions, so I'll tackle them one by one.

Yes, I'm a little disappointed I couldn't keep my double-double streak unbroken through the end of the season. Like I've said before, I don't play for stats but at the same time I do take pride in what I do and it was a little frustrating to finish just one assist shy in the Blazers game. The most important thing is we got the win though and I think I finished the season pretty well with the past couple of games. ;)

Yes, I've heard the rumours that I'll be named Rookie of the Year. No, I don't know any more than you do right now but needless to say, that would be a huge honour if it happens. Being named to the All-Rookie First Team was huge for me and I couldn't be more stoked about that, but Rookie of the Year would be icing on the cake. We'll see what happens though.

Should I have won Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the third time in a row? Well, I thought I had a pretty good month in April and of course as a team we kept on rolling, but I don't want to take anything away from Anthony Davis, who had a fine month himself and a really good season so far. I appreciate everyone who's been speaking out on my behalf, but I've already been given a lot of kudos so far and I just want to focus on the next step, our run at the championship.

As for Iggy winning the MVP, I've heard those rumours too and I think he absolutely deserves it. It'd definitely be something special if both of those rumours are true and we can each take home some hardware, though once again we currently have our eye on another trophy, one that the whole team can enjoy and be proud of.

I can't wait for the Playoffs to begin. Thanks again for all your support Nuggets fans, the ride is not over yet! I hope you're watching when we tip off the postseason against the Timberwolves but for the moment, check out my 2K Style magazine cover. Yes, the fellas are absolutely ribbing me over it. Not too much though...they want those passes to keep on coming!

Image
A-Train set a franchise record as the Nuggets took Game 1

The Denver Nuggets opened the 2013 Playoffs in impressive fashion, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-91 to take a 1-0 lead in their best of seven first round series. Andre Iguodala led all scorers with 34 points while shooting an incredible 16/16 from the field, to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists. Rookie Andrew Begley also set a franchise record for most assists in a playoff game with 18, to go along with 14 points, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Begley also holds the franchise record for most assists in a regular season game with 24.

Early in the game, the Timberwolves made it a close affair with the lead changing hands several times and were even up by four with a little over two minutes left in the first quarter. However, a determined run by the Nuggets saw them jump out to a 31-26 lead by the end of the first and they never looked back, maintaining a double digit lead from the second quarter onwards on route to their 28 point rout.

The Timberwolves didn't get much offense from Kevin Love, who was held to just nine points on 3/19 shooting, though the star forward would grab 14 rebounds and hand out five assists. Nikola Pekovic led the team in scoring with 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, Chase Budinger added 13 points and second year point guard Ricky Rubio had 12 points and six assists.

Wilson Chandler contributed 12 points and eight rebounds for the Nuggets, while Danilo Gallinari provided a huge lift off the bench with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists in just 18 minutes. JaVale McGee had a double-double for Denver with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Do you have mixed feelings after beating the Bulls' record?

Thanks. :)

A little, I suppose. I'd already beaten it in my NBA Live 06 Dynasty though and it was kind of cool to do it in MyCAREER mode, where I obviously have less control over these things.

It'd be nice if we could customise the clothes in the PC version. I'd probably have gone with a different colour for my suit and shirt. ;)

I'm still hoping that NBA Live can make a proper comeback, being a longtime fan who grew up with that series. However, I'm definitely enjoying NBA 2K13 and missing the Live series a little less because of it. The right stick dribbling definitely enhanced the accessibility of the game, really allowing me to properly enjoy all the great stuff that the 2K series has been doing for some time now. There are some troubling issues, of course, but on the whole the experience is very enjoyable.

Looks like there are some bugs there. The All-NBA teams are now all blank and checking my career timeline, I've been credited as the 2013/2014 Rookie of the Year...a little disappointing to see issues like that popping up, especially as I haven't used any trainers or externally manipulated the save in any other way, in which case such errors would be my own fault.

Begley breaks own record in Game 2 victory

Image
A-Train tied his regular season assist record in Game 2

Rookie of the Year Andrew Begley continues to make an impression with his passing, as the first year player broke his own franchise record of 18 assists set in Game 1 with 24 dimes in the Denver Nuggets' 124-106 victory in Game 2, tying his regular season career high which is also a franchise best. He also added 14 points, five rebounds and four steals in the victory.

Andre Iguodala, who was a perfect 16/16 from the field in Game 1, did not have a perfect shooting night but was still dominant at the offensive end with 32 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Wilson Chandler added 21 points, JaVale McGee had 16 points and eight rebounds, Danilo Gallinari scored 15 off the bench and Kenneth Faried joined Begley in posting a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Minnesota Timberwolves once again found themselves struggling to keep up with the Denver Nuggets after keeping the game close for much of the first quarter. Kevin Love, quiet in Game 1, scored 35 points in Game 2 but managed to grab just six rebounds while handing out four assists. Brandon Roy and Ricky Rubio each contributed 14 points in the loss, with Rubio also tallying five rebounds, 15 assists and three steals.

The series now moves to Minnesota for Games 3 and 4.

Timberwolves on the brink of being swept

A-Train throws down a dunk on the fastbreak

The Denver Nuggets are now on the verge of sweeping their first round opponents the Minnesota Timberwolves, following a decisive 124-97 victory. Rookie Andrew Begley once again piled up the assists with 18, tying the second highest mark in franchise history for assists in a Playoff game that he himself set in Game 1, while also scoring 12 points, grabbing three rebounds and making a career high seven steals.

Andre Iguodala and Wilson Chandler each scored 22 points for the Nuggets, while JaVale McGee and Danilo Gallinari had 13 points apiece. The Nuggets once again found themselves on cruise control for most of the game, trading baskets with the Timberwolves in the first quarter before blowing the game wide open in the second quarter and running away with the victory.

Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio were the lone bright spots for the Timberwolves in the loss, each scoring 14 points. Love also had six rebounds and three steals, while Rubio had two rebounds, five assists and a steal. Minnesota will now attempt to avoid the sweep at home in Game 4.

The Denver Nuggets had the best regular season record with a historic mark of 73-9, finishing the season on a nine game winning streak. The streak now stands at thirteen as they swept the Minnesota Timberwolves to become the first team to advance to the second round in the 2013 NBA Playoffs following an overwhelming 122-78 victory.

Andre Iguodala led the way for the Nuggets with 31 points to go along with three rebounds and eight assists. The Nuggets' Rookie of the Year Andrew Begley had 16 points, seven rebounds and 16 assists in the win, while Danilo Gallinari had 22 points off the bench, JaVale McGee chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds, and Kenneth Faried had 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Timberwolves, who were outmatched throughout the series, once again managed to hang with the Nuggets through the first quarter but couldn't keep the momentum going any further, trailing by double digits early in the second and never seriously challenging the lead again. Kevin Love scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, Luke Ridnour had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Ricky Rubio contributed 10 points and five assists in the loss.

Denver will now face the winner of the San Antonio Spurs-Golden State Warriors series, currently even at two games apiece.

Nice job on the sweep. Poor Timberwolves never seem to do any good in any game that I've seen.

Oh, and good work with those 24 assists. I got a similar number with John Wall the other day. Crazy how one player can get so many in a game :)

Thanks for checking in guys!

The frustrating thing is I probably should've broken Scott Skiles' record at this point, but the game isn't always fair in tallying assists. Sometimes it'll be generous, awarding an assist when a teammate dribbles from practically halfcourt on the fastbreak, other times it won't award an assist if a teammate bobbles the pass a little before finishing or makes a jab step before nailing a jumpshot. The "bad pass" deduction, itself not always a fair assessment, also seems to negate what should qualify as an assist, so that's robbed me of a dime or two here and there. Still, can't be too unhappy with those numbers I guess. ;)

Rookie leads the way as Nuggets take 1-0 lead in second round series

Image
Begley and the Nuggets turned in another outstanding performance

The Denver Nuggets continue to roll in the 2013 Playoffs thanks to the strong play of their Rookie of the Year, Andrew Begley. Begley registered his second career triple double and first in the postseason while also topping the 20 assist mark for the second time in five games, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 21 assists, three steals and two blocks as the Nuggets defeated the Golden State Warriors 139-95 to take a 1-0 lead in their second round series. MVP Andre Iguodala led all scorers with 27 points on 11/12 field goals, while also adding five assists.

Denver, who have now won 14 straight going back to the regular season, started the game slowly as Golden State scored the first basket of the night and kept pace in the early going. The Warriors' success would be short lived however, as the Nuggets built an 11 point advantage by the end of the first quarter and never looked back, attacking relentlessly throughout the game including a 41-25 thumping in the fourth quarter.

The Nuggets also received 16 points, three rebounds and four assists from Corey Brewer, in just 16 minutes off the bench. Danilo Gallinari added 16 points of his own while JaVale McGee had 14 points and six rebounds. Jarrett Jack led the way for the Warriors with 18 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists. Stephen Curry struggled in the game shooting just 2/10 from the field for seven points, but added seven rebounds and four assists. Klay Thompson and Carl Landry each scored 15 points, while David Lee tallied 10 points and six rebounds.

Game 2 will be played in Denver.

I don't know about that, but I just checked and it seems that my 24 assists tied the all-time playoff record for a single game (Magic Johnson in 1984, John Stockton in 1988). I also bested Spud Webb's record for assists by a rookie (18 in 1986) and topped Magic's record for assists per game in a single series (19 apg in the first round, beating his 17 apg against the Blazers in 1985).

Image

Two Nuggets register triple doubles as Denver goes up 2-0

Image
Andre Iguodala scores two of his game high 42 points

The Denver Nuggets' award winning backcourt turned in an impressive performance as they defeated the Golden State Warriors 124-110 to take a 2-0 lead in their best of seven second round series. Andre Iguodala had a game high 42 points on a scorching hot 21/25 from the field, to go along with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Rookie Andrew Begley also tallied a triple double for the second straight game with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists, also adding three steals.

Golden State began the game strong and held a 33-24 lead after the first quarter, outplaying Denver at both ends of the court. Their success would be shortlived however as the Nuggets outscored them 34-22 in the second quarter and didn't look back, continuing to build on the lead in the second half and withstanding a late run to win by fourteen.

JaVale McGee played a big part in the victory, scoring 23 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking three shots. Kenneth Faried added 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks of his own, while Wilson Chandler also had a solid outing with 15 points and eight rebounds.

For the Warriors, David Lee led the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. Stephen Curry had 20 points, three rebounds and five assists, while Jarrett Jack tallied 18 points, three rebounds and 10 assists. Carl Landry and rookie Harrison Barnes each had 12 points in the loss, while Andrew Bogut registered 11 points and nine rebounds.

The series now moves to Oakland for Games 3 and 4.

Nuggets on the verge of another sweep

Image
Begley and the Nuggets outlasted Curry and the Warriors to go up 3-0 in the series

Another strong performance by the usual suspects has the Denver Nuggets on the verge of another sweep, as they took a 3-0 series lead over the Golden State Warriors with a 116-95 victory. Rookie Andrew Begley led the way with 20 points, six rebounds, 16 assists, three steals and 2 blocks, while Andre Iguodala scored a game high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists.

The Warriors once again opened the game in impressive fashion, forcing turnovers and turning them into points. Their determination paid off as they built a ten point lead early, only to see the Nuggets rally to cut the deficit to four by the end of the first quarter. Although Denver would take back the lead early in the second quarter, the game remained close for the rest of the half.

Denver blew the game open in the second half though, building a double digit lead early on and keeping Golden State at bay throughout the latter 24 minutes of the game. Wilson Chandler finished with 19 points, JaVale McGee added 16 points and eight rebounds, Kenneth Faried tallied 10 points and 13 rebounds and Danilo Gallinari contributed 16 points off the bench in the Game 3 win.

Stephen Curry led all scorers with 27 points in a losing effort, to go along with four rebounds, seven assists and three steals. David Lee had another solid outing with 22 points and nine rebounds, Jarrett Jack scored 12 points and handed out nine assists while Harrison Barnes added 12 points of his own. Andrew Bogut finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors will now try to avoid elimination with a win at home in Game 4.

Nuggets sweep Warriors, advance to Western Conference Finals

Image
The Nuggets are returning to the Western Conference Finals after another impressive series

Break out the brooms: the Denver Nuggets have completed another series sweep, defeating the Golden State Warriors 131-103 in Game 4. Andre Iguodala led the team in scoring with 24 points and also had six assists and two blocks, but once again it was rookie Andrew Begley who stole the show with a near triple double of 10 points, eight rebounds and 19 assists, as well as three steals and three blocks.

Stephen Curry led all scorers with 31 points while also handing out nine assists, but his impressive play was not enough to keep the Warriors from falling behind early and never seriously challenging the lead past the first quarter. Jarrett Jack had 14 points, five rebounds and nine assists while Andrew Bogut, Charles Jenkins and Harrison Barnes all scored 12 points, but David Lee had a quiet night with just eight points and two rebounds.

The Nuggets once again received a spirited performance for JaVale McGee, who scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. Wilson Chandler had 22 points and four rebounds, while Danilo Gallinari had another solid game off the bench with 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Denver now awaits the winner of the second round series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers, currently tied at two games apiece.

Going to go 16-0 are you? Might as well after such a dominating season!

I think you can still go for 30 assists, just get those shooters hot one game and you'll get there.

I'll give both a shot, 16-0 may be more likely though. I've probably come close to 30 assists a couple of times but with the way the game inconsistently credits assists, some of my big assist games are still a bit smaller than they should be.

Denver opens Conference Finals in style

Image
A-Train and the Nuggets were dominant in Game 1

The Denver Nuggets have drawn first blood in the Western Conference Finals, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 132-107 to take a 1-0 lead. Andre Iguodala scored a team high 28 points to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists, while Andrew Begley tallied 16 points, five rebounds, 17 assists and six steals.

Oklahoma City received huge performances from its two stars as Russell Westbrook scored a game high 46 points and Kevin Durant added 42 of his own, but the dynamic duo received little help from the rest of the team as Denver raced out to an early lead and never looked back.

In contrast, the Nuggets benefitted from a strong all-around team performance. In addition to Iggy and A-Train's contributions, they also received 23 points from Danilo Gallinari in 23 minutes off the bench, 20 points from Wilson Chandler, 17 points and eight rebounds from Kenneth Faried and a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds from JaVale McGee.

Game 2 will be played in Denver.

Nuggets win by double digits again, go up 2-0

Image
Andre Iguodala continued his scoring barrage with 30 points

The Denver Nuggets now have a firmer grip on their Western Conference Finals series against the Oklahoma City Thunder following a 127-112 victory in Game 2, successfully defending their homecourt to go up 2-0 as the series now shifts to Oklahoma City. Andre Iguodala once again led the team in scoring with 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Thunder didn't make it easy however, taking the lead early and finishing the first quarter up 34-28. Although Denver would recapture the lead in the second quarter and hold a 63-55 advantage at halftime, the game remained close until the waning moments of the third quarter, when the Nuggest were able to run out to an 11 point lead heading into the fourth, where they withstood a final push by the Thunder to pick up the victory.

Rookie of the Year Andrew Begley was once again solid with 12 points, six rebounds, 14 assists and six steals. Wilson Chandler scored 20 points for the second consecutive game, Kenneth Faried had 19 points and eight rebounds, Danilo Gallinari had 13 points off the bench and JaVale McGee got down to business with 12 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

All-Stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook turned in dominant performances once again, with Durant leading all scorers with 39 points while Westbrook tallied 38 points of his own to go along with five rebounds and seven assists. Serge Ibaka also had 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks in a losing effort.

Thunder take Game 3, look to even series in Game 4

Image
Durant and the Thunder took Game 3 at home after a strong performance

For the second time this season, the Oklahoma City Thunder have put an end to a long winning streak by the Denver Nuggets. Led by Russell Westbrook (39 points, four rebounds, 12 assists and four steals) and Kevin Durant (34 points, three rebounds and three assists), the Thunder outdueled the Nuggets in one of their most competitive games of the 2013 Playoffs, winning 108-102 to hand Denver its first loss of the postseason.

A close game throughout, Game 3 wasn't decided until the final two minutes following several lead changes. The Thunder, who outscored the Nuggets 37-30 in the final period, eventually pulled away in the final minute and staved off a desperate rally attempt to preserve the victory. In addition to Westbrook and Durant's performances, Oklahoma City once again received a solid contribution from Serge Ibaka who had 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

The Nuggets made a surprising change to their lineup before Game 3, as veteran point guard Andre Miller was inserted into the starting lineup while Wilson Chandler was relegated to the bench. Miller had 14 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists, but often appeared to be looking for his own shot at the expense of his teammates, who at times seemed to be frustrated by the slow pace while Miller ran the offense.

Andre Iguodala led the Nuggets with 23 points and also had six rebounds and four assists in the loss. Rookie of the Year Andrew Begley was quiet due to Miller's dominance of the ball, but managed to add yet another double-double with 10 points and 10 assists to go along with four steals. JaVale McGee had 17 points, while Kenneth Faried added 19 points and seven rebounds.

Oklahoma City will now look to even the series in Game 4.

The Denver Nuggets are now on the brink of the first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history, while last year's Western Conference champions the Oklahoma City Thunder are on the brink of elimination. Denver won Game 4 120-107 and are now just one win away from an opportunity to compete for the team's first NBA championship.

Andre Miller once again started for the Nuggets and scored 18 points to go along with four rebounds and 11 assists, but shot the ball poorly (7/18) and once again slowed the Nuggets' offense to a crawl. He was also upstaged by rookie Andrew Begley, the team's starter at point guard for most of the season, who registered yet another triple double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists, to go along with four steals and a block.

The Thunder received a huge performance from Kevin Durant, who scored a game high 43 points while grabbing seven rebounds, handing out three assists and making two steals. Russell Westbrook was hampered by early foul trouble however and scored just 23 points on the night, adding four rebounds, four assists and two steals along the way. Thabo Sefolosha had 15 points, Serge Ibaka had 12 points and two blocks and Daequan Cook added 11 points in just nine minutes off the bench.

Denver were in control from the outset and led throughout most of the game, once again benefitting from a strong all-around team performance. JaVale McGee led the team with 26 points and had five rebounds, Kenneth Faried turned in a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds and Most Valuable Player Andre Iguodala had a solid outing with 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

The series now returns to Denver for Game 5.

Begley and the Nuggets are on their way to their first NBA Finals appearance

The Denver Nuggets made team history as they secured their first NBA Finals appearance, following a 117-100 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rookie of the Year Andrew Begley tallied a triple double for the second straight game with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists. JaVale McGee led the team with 22 points while Andre Iguodala had 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

Oklahoma City kept the game close early as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook relentlessly attacked Denver's defense from the opening tip, but the Nuggets took control of the game by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Westbrook finished with 35 points, four rebounds and eight assists while Durant had 29 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Thabo Sefolosha was the only other Thunder player to turn in a noteworthy performance with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals, underscoring a common theme for Oklahoma City in the series.

Andre Miller, starting for the third consecutive game, added another double-double with 14 points and 11 assists in the victory. Kenneth Faried also had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in Denver's Game 5 win.

The Nuggets now await the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, which the Heat currently lead 3-1.

Nuggets and Heat to meet in NBA Finals

The best of the East and the West has been decided: defending champions the Miami Heat will meet the Denver Nuggets in the 2013 NBA Finals.

Denver went 73-9 during the regular season and have lost only one game on route to the NBA Finals, dropping Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Miami went 56-26 during the regular season and is 12-5 in the postseason, narrowly avoiding elimination in the second round at the hands of the Chicago Bulls in a tough seven game series. The teams split their regular season series at one game apiece.

Four wins. We're just four wins away from winning it all. Can you believe it?

I've said it before but I'll say it again: what an incredible ride this season has been. The 23 game winning streak. Getting the best record in league history at 73-9. Most Valuable Player and All-NBA First Team for Iggy, Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie First Team for me. Setting team assists records. 12-1 in the Playoffs so far (so close but yet so far in Game 3 against the Thunder)...there have been difficult moments but I've had so much fun this year.

Now we face our biggest challenge yet, the defending champion Miami Heat. We took a game from them in the regular season but that doesn't mean anything now. Still, we're ready and we believe that we can win. We've had a great season so far, but it obviously doesn't mean quite as much without that ring.

I can't wait to tip things off. We're so close to the goal we set for ourselves months ago; we just want to get out there and take care of business, bringing Denver its first NBA championship. Let the games begin!

Nice! Nearly there. I foresee the Heat being very very tough though. So I take it you are starting as SG now?

Unlucky dropping that game and losing your unbeaten record in the playoffs. Making the finals is the main thing though, congrats. :)

Sweep the Heat! :P
