Vote for my 2K13 Association story team

So MyTEAM isn't as great as I thought it would be; it's still fun, but I think I broke it by buying LeBron, and there's no incentive to keep going. No leaderboards, the only thing you can do is brag about your team online. Anyway, I have quite a ways to go until I actually get an association story going if I do. I have to wait for the roster update this weekend and wait for my hard drive to arrive so I can look at the gametrack and give screenshots for this. I don't guarantee that I'll chose the team with the most votes, but I'm curious as to what which team you guys would want to see the most. I've narrowed it down to three teams I would like:


Spurs - Until Duncan retires, I would have a team right off the bat to push for a title (14-game seasons), and then either trade Tony or see if I could find a replacement for Duncan. It will be interesting to see when Manu retires; he's just one year younger than Timmy at 35. Could be a fun rebuild once the core three retire (might have to trade Tony as Ginobili and Duncan are 5 and 6 years older and will retire before him possibly).

Jazz - They're pretty meh. Hayward is a good piece to keep; I don't know about Burks on the other hand (don't know too much about him). Have marketable pieces in Mo and Marvin Williams, and have a solid three (possibly four) headed monster in Millsap, Favors, Al Jeff and maybe Kanter. Jeremy Evans probably has some potential in this game with his athleticism too.

Magic - A magical rebuild. This team is the ugliest team in the league right now and a mess; would be a fun rebuild. They really have no players that are guaranteed keepers; Nelson's getting old. I actually checked and they're the 30th team in the league overall right now.


EDIT: Sacramento is an interesting one too, except they kind of look set for the future with their young players, even more so now with the addition of Thomas Robinson. Suggest a team if you want to too.

I'd recommend the Cavs or Bobcats. Cleveland is your hometown team and a good dynasty hook with a franchise PG in Irving, a potential all-star in Waiters, and lots of room to grow. Meanwhile, the Bobcats are even worse, but you do have former Bobcat Boris Diaw in your avatar.

Of the three listed, either San Antonio or Orlando.

I won't do the Cavs because I don't want to OD on the Cavs. I watch almost all of their games, or however much I feel like/can handle, but I know they are a great association team, I just need variety in my NBA. That would be too much of them. No Cats either. I thought I heard someone was going to do them here, plus I'm just not feeling them. In my first 2K12 association I rebuilt the Cats, and I don't even think I forced any trades or cheated in any way, but by about 4 seasons in my lineup was D-Will, Kobe, Iguodala, Varejao and Dwight Howard, so I got my taste of making a contender out of the Cats. Poll is tied 1-1-1 right now.

I have Diaw in my avatar just because I like him as a player, not the Bobcats in particular, although that was a pretty cool team with him, Felton, Augustin, G-Wallace, Stephen Jackson and Tyson Chandler.

It's just tradition by now. Like Thierry changes stories, I change my username. But I really shouldn't be talking. I have probably like 12 failed stories myself, but I was getting annoyed with seeing my first and last name as my username.

I already played the first game with the Jazz, but I don't know. The offline aspect of 2K is kind of dying for me, even though I do love association. I mostly play 3v3 MyPlayer blacktop, MyTEAM and quick ranked games, so that kind of shows it. I've only played one NBA game in MyPlayer, and I've probably played more than 40 3v3 blacktop games. Anyway, that first game with the Jazz I beat the Grizzlies by like 10 (we pulled away in the forth; close game throughout), no trades/signings or any moves, and I was playing on All-Star. Al Jeff had 20 points I think, and I shot 70% (5 min. quarters; I scored like 60 points total). I find it weird that I beat a better Grizzlies team on All-Star; will probably have to bump the difficulty up if I do do the association. If anyone reads this, what difficulty do you play 2K13 on for a good matchup? But as of now, I don't think I'd be able to/have the interest to keep an association going, so I have no plans for one as of now. Maybe the most I'd do is sim and manage an association and update it in the "How is your association going?" thread.

As I said, it's likely I won't be doing an association, but the Hawks are an interesting team. They certainly wouldn't be out of the picture if I was doing one. You've got Teague, Josh Smith and Horford, but not much else. Maybe Devin Harris and Louis Williams. I played a quick ranked game with them but got destroyed by this guy who was the Rockets. He dropped like 30 points with Jeremy Lamb. I was running with a lineup of Devin Harris, Louis Williams, DeShawn Stevenson, Josh Smith and Horford for most of the game. But at this point, I'm loving MyTEAM, MyCAREER, MyPlayer 3v3 blacktop, and even quick ranked games, so those have kind of pushed association to the side. I'm kind of shifting towards the online aspect of things, and MyTEAM is like a quick ranked association in a way. Maybe once I get tired of that I'll consider an association, because I heard nothing happens once you reach the 1st seed in MyTEAM, you just have to keep it. Plus, I'll be able to use the start in the middle of the season feature in association too.
