City Reeling Over Decision, Fans Excited

Image

CLEVELAND - Everyone in Cleveland - fans and Cavs management alike - watched and anticipated what decision LeBron James was going to make with regards to where he was going to play. People in the city believed he was going to stay after selling him the prospect of being "home." People excitedly gathered at local hang outs to see him make his announcement.

However, as soon as James announced he was going to take his talents to South Beach, that hope and anticipation turned into anger and frustration, as the Cavs faithful took to the streets, burning James' jersey as well as other apparel with his picture on it. Cavaliers' owner Dan Gilbert wrote a seething letter on the team's website, promising a championship before James ever gets one.

As the initial rage wore off and the season drew nearer, the Cavfanatics anticipated what was going to be an exciting season.

"A new era for us," one fan said. "We as fans always believe we have the best team and will continue to support them. It's always about the name on the front before what's on the back."

Another added: "We know this will be a 'different' season. Sometimes change is good, and I'm really looking forward to see what the team's got. LeBron the 'King' may be gone, but it doesn't matter. We have a new kingdom to build, and I'm pretty sure a new basketball kingdom will rise!"

Clearly LeBron James' spurning the Cavaliers has left fans angry, but not even that will deter them from cheering their team on.

I remember you, you're the one who posted the association where Chris Tiu is a player.

it's all right. haha. tired of doing the Lakers all the time.. plus I've been debating whether to do a story or not, I've been wanting to use the Cavs ever since watching LeBron eat them alive on December 2.

yes I am. unfortunately I couldn't continue that one because the file got corrupted on my PC for some reason. I got lazy to do it all over again plus my PS3 got fixed so I went back to the console version.

New Kingdom Shall Rise(Cavs) | Stern Announces 58-Game Seaso

David Stern Announces Shortened Season Schedule

David Stern addresses the media.

NEW YORK - In a surprising announcement, David Stern announced the approval of a shortened 58-game schedule per team. The previous schedule had each team playing 82 games. Each team, no matter the conference, will face twice. In the previous format, teams from the same conference faced each other three or four times a season, and inter-conference games are played twice each year.

The season will still run from late October to mid-April, with the NBA Playoffs running the regular 7-7-7-7 format.

"We feel shortening the schedule will enhance the quality of our games," Stern said in a press conference. "Teams will rarely, if ever, have to play in back-to-back situations. This in turn will reduce the fatigue to the players and lessen injuries, which cripples the competition on the floor. In addition, the downtime between games allows for more rest, and increases the build-up to games or the hype which fans like."

Stern has made controversial league-changing decisions in the past, yielding different results. He legalized the zone defense in the NBA in 2001-2002, made revisions to hand-checking on defense and changed the official game-ball to a microfiber one then went back to the old leather ball.
