[flash=]Big trade between Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks[/flash]
In an attempt to get a point gaurd who is a great passer, the atlanta hawks send veteran point gaurd Mike Bibby and Zaza Pachulia to the dallas mavericks for 15 year veteran Jason Kidd.
Comments from the gm of the atlanta hawks
I feel this was a good temporary trade for us, right now we developing Jeff Teague and he will learn how to be a great point gaurd from one of the all time greats and future hall of famer Jason Kidd. Jason is good for 8 assists a game and a decent amount of points per game, but for now we just need Kidd to pass the ball since he's one of today's greatest playmakers.
Before we god Kidd, we had no one who could pass the ball this well, we had Bibby, but we needed someone much better, someone who could be a leader on this team along with Joe Johnson. Now Joe has someone elese he can count on, not only to make plays for other players, but also to take some of the pressure to score off of him.
But now there's a hole in the big man position that we need to fill, and that's our center position, with Zaza gone now. We'll probably sign a center. Jason Kidd is a temporary solution because he'll be retiring soon as he is a 15 year veteran.

Trade with the Lakers and final one of seasonAtlanta sends Marvin Williams and Jason Collins to the La Lakers for Lamar Odom
Hawks sign Hilton Armstrong to fill hole at center
No more transactions for the hawks will take place unless another team offers a trade proposal that is too good to pass.
The atlanta hawks are playing well and only lost one game in the southeast division, and that was against the charlotte bobcats. The hawks are also 7nth in the eastern conference playoff race, the gm feels they have enough offense to slide by, right into the playoffs.

Please man, PLEASE
Stay with this one. Maybe you'll get bored in some time with those acquisitions (Kidd and Odom), but not sure considering your record.

Comments from the coach of the hawksIt looks like we'll make the playoffs this year, even with a struggeling record. But what's been helping us stay in the top 8, is the fact that we are 7-2 in our division this year so far. That was our main goal in terms of winning this year is to win our divisional games.

I like this one. You have a starting line-up of all-star players. Johnson and Smith aer pretty much obvious all-stars, Odom should be an All-Star no problem and J-Kidd and Horford are fringe All-Stars at this point of their careers.
If you want to quit restarting dynasties over and over again, I suggest using a different game. I didn't find Live 07 fun at all.
Tue Dec 14, 2010 7:28 am
Thanks zo2, i appreciate that. But actually i enjoy live 07 because of the face that you can turn players into shooters scorers and other types of players, and that's what i enjoy the most out of the game. The main downfall of 07 though, is the fact that the cpu doesn't sub.

Hawks say good bye to an old friend and a big man
First in the rookie draft the hawks drafted a 6'8 247 power forward from Eastern Michigan university
D.Bonner-72
Bonner-Good athletic body, good conditioning and unafraid of taking a big shot
Hawks needed a power forward since they chose not to resign veteran Joe Smith
Hawks say good bye to an old friend, hawks traded Josh Smith + Jamal Crawford and Maurice Evans to the nuggets for Carmelo Anthony + J.R. Smith.
Hawks also traded Al Horford and Hobbes Wilkinson to toronto for Andrea Bargnani
All these trades this off season was an attempt to get better offensively, Carmelo adds around 20-25 points per game, and Bargnani about 10-15 points per game. Hawks missed the playoffs last year and in the nba finals it was the san antonio spurs winning the series against the surprise team, the washington wizards.
More updates later in the week.
Tue Dec 14, 2010 12:28 pm
Again, you've completely changed your roster.
Good job getting Carmelo Anthony, but I think you gave up too much. Honestly, in the long run, I'd rather have Josh Smith than Carmelo. That's just me, though.
Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:55 pm
Best of luck... the Hawks are a good choice and hope this one works out for you. I was kinda sad to see you trade Bibby (who else's head can foul Kobe's elbow?), but Old Man Kidd is a pretty good point as well. Melo should pan out well and J.R. Smith is a gun in the games.
Tue Dec 14, 2010 3:06 pm
Thanks guys, Jason Kidd is just temporary until i turn Jeff Teague, who's possibly my future starting point gaurd, into a star. I didn't want to give trade Crawford, but i had to be fair and give the nuggets a shooting gaurd in return and J.R. Smith can become better than Jamal Crawford.

Next game against the milwaukee bucksThe bucks and the hawks have a big three, the bucks big three are Michael Redd with 19ppg, Andrew Bogut with 15ppg and 11rbs ppg and Brandon Jennings with 14 ppg per game and their sixth man is John Salmons with 5 points off the bench. Carlos Delfino is a league leader in three point shooting, so we'll have to play extra outside defense against this jump shooting team. The only low post presence that the bucks have is Andrew Bogut.
Hawks newsHawks have just signed veteran sharp shooter Eddie House who recently played for the boston celtics and he'll be the backup for the rest of the year behind superstar veteran Jason Kidd. The hawks big three are Carmelo Anthony, Joe Johnson and Jason all avereging over 15 points per game with Anthony averaging 20, and is obviously the team leader, here are the starting lineups for each team in tomorrows game.

Atlanta hawks playing wellOur home town team is 15-15 and has the 8th spot in the playoff race, hopefully this year they can bring home the gold, an nba championship. We haven't had a major sports championship since the braves world series in the 1990's, and we are a hungry city, the gm has done everything in his power to get a championship.
Eddie House has proved to be the spark off the bench that the hawks have despereately needed, now we have five players scoring no less than 4ppg off the bench! We just need to add a few defenders to this team, or develop the players that we already have into defenders.
Gm Sam:I have done everything in my power to make this team into a championship caliber team, but we're still struggeling. But at least we have three team leaders, Joe Johnson, Carmelo Anthony and Jason Kidd. We have to start playing better defense and beat the elite teams.

Mon Dec 27, 2010 1:36 pm
I'm amazed you don't have more than 20 wins right now with that starting lineup.
Mon Dec 27, 2010 1:43 pm
Yeah, we don't have much defense.
Mon Dec 27, 2010 1:46 pm
Still, that lineup should be enough for at least 20! You're behind mmy lolcats!
Wed Dec 29, 2010 10:43 pm
The playoffs are hereThe playoffs are upon us and the atlanta hawks are in, they finished the season at 46-36 and are the 6th seed. They have to play a very good milwaukee buck team who finished 3rd in the east and whom also finished at 51-31 on the year. The bucks are led by Michael red who can still light it up from midrange, Andrew Bogut and Brandon Jennings, Luke Ridnour plays well off the bench as well.

Season 2 is over disappointing elimination
Through out the year this year the hawks were average until the last two months, they made it all the way to the eastern conference finals to play the miami heat, but in a sudden death elimination playoff game, it was just too much Dwayne Wade, Michael Beasely and Jermaine Oneal in scoring offense.
The heat eliminated the hawks in the eastern conference finals 1 game to 0, Kidd was the star of the hawks though with 24 points, the hawks look to make it back to the eastern conference finals and win an nba championship next season. The hawks trouble all season long was not only defense, but mainly not enough low post scoring. The only players who could really score was the big three, Kidd, Johnson and Anthony. The hawks are looking to add some bigs in the offseason, the spurs defeated the heat in the nba finals to win the nba championship.

Our first game of the season is against a very tough team last year, the orlando magic, here are last season's stats for the starters, and plus they added a couple of players as well.

Rashard Lewis 22 ppg 9 rpg
Matt Barnes 11 ppg 6 rpg
Vince Carter 17 ppg
Jameer Nelson 15 ppg

Orlando's bench players without stats included
Ryan Anderson
Brandon Bass
Joey Graham
J.J. Reddick
Morris Almond

The magic don't have much of a bench, the most points per game any bench player scored last year was Joey Graham with 3 ppg. Odds are in our favor to win this game, since we have the deeper bench. The leader of our team is of course Joe Johnson whom i am building this team around.
We have a major free agent this year in Jason Kidd, whom we may or may not resign, it depends on how much Jeff teague developes this season.
