*Be Magic. : Roster Released*

INTRO.
Alright time to get my 2k11 Association underway.
2k10 didn’t really work out for me as I had planned, something about the game struggled to grab my attention but it looks like this year’s instalment will do the trick. Here’s to hoping
I tossed up the idea of a few different teams to do this with and was pretty close to with going with a cellar dweller to see how I could rebuild them but in a realistic way.
However I realised that much like in games like Football Manager and FIFA, I always end up wanting to play with the team I support so Orlando it was!
I’m hoping that since I’m quite a big fan of the team I won’t get lured into making too many roster changes in the first season.
Anyway hope you will all enjoy reading, I’m pretty sure I’m going to enjoy posting it.


ASSOCIATION SETTINGS.
♦ Season Length: 82 Games
♦ Team Chemistry: On
♦ Player Roles: On
♦ Progressive Fatigue: On
♦ Trade Deadline: On
♦ CPU Trades: On
♦ Trade Override: On (Any outrageous trades I may potentially change, I wont be that strict though)
♦ Preseason: On
♦ Injuries: On
♦ Draft Prospect: Ones that came with the Roster set I’m using
♦ Playoffs: 7-7-7-7


GAMEPLAY SETTINGS.
♦ Level: All Star
♦ Roster: Alby’s 30/11/10 (Few Tweaks)
♦ Sliders: Mp3’s (Few Tweaks, plus changing as I go)
♦ Quarter Length: 12 Mins
♦ Sim Length: 12 Mins


ASSOCIATION GOALS.
I thought it would be a cool idea for me to post some of the goals I have in this association.
These will be updated as suggestions are made that I like or whatnot.
So if you think of anything that fits in with the association speak up! Obviously some goals will be harder than others.

Short Term (Current Season)
♦ Return to the NBA Finals.
♦ Beat previous team record of 1 Finals Series Win.
♦ Get Dwight Howard his first MVP award.
♦ Once again have Dwight lead the league in blocked shots and rebounds.
♦ Have Jameer shake the reputation of being a poor playmaker and average 7+ assists for the season.
♦ Have Vince break the 20,000 points threshold by the start of January. Starts season on 19,498.
♦ Have either J.J. Redick or Brandon Bass win Sixth Man of the year.

Long Term (Season two and beyond)
♦ Make moves to ensure that come Dwight’s Free Agency we either have the talent to convince him the roster can win a title or have the cap space to get that talent.
♦ Make the most of Vince’s expiring contract to upgrade talent. (The game does not recognise the $4m guaranteed for next season, so makes this job easier )
♦ Develop Ryan Anderson into a future starting calibre player to replace Rashard “Money Bags” Lewis as the team’s stretch 4 option.

Cool, I hope you can stick with this one. It will be hard to develop Anderson into a solid player, but as long as Dwight stays, you will always get more out of a good shooter. Good luck

Can't wait man. I'd say that the safest way to have a long-tenure story is playing with the team you're a fan of.

Cheers guys, will get some more updates in the next few days. Although should I be waiting for the PC patch to come out? Ie will it affect my dynasty much or should I just go ahead and start it and the bugs will still come into affect?

I heard somewhere it's coming in March...but keeping my hopes up (hence why i havent started on my 2K11 asso yet)

Hmmm interesting, well im going away for the weekend so I will wait that long, if not ill just go ahead and start, apparently most of the changes will still take affect in exisiting dynasties and its just the sig shots that which wont change which im pretty "meh" about since I use real player FG% at this stage anyway.

ROTATION.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES.

Strengths
♦ Good size. Dwight/Bass/Gortat makes for an intimidating front line rotation.
♦ Deep bench. The Magic second unit can go toe-toe with any in the league, and even some teams first units.
♦ Potent Range. Last season the Magic broke the NBA record for most 3 pointers made in a season. Expect much of the same.
♦ Solid interior defence. Couple Dwight Howard with Stan Van Gundy’s solid defensive system and you have a great defensive back bone.

Weaknesses
♦ Lack of a solid second option to Dwight Howard. Vince and Jameer can carry a team on any given night, but can they be relied upon?
♦ Injury prone. From Jameers dodgy shoulders to the nightly chance that Vince could slip over and hurt his vagina, Magic fans are constantly cringing at the sight of any collision.
♦ Not a large amount of trade pieces. If Orlando wants to bring in that second big time player they will need to offer up a good package. Do the Magic have the pieces?
