Regain Supremacy! | vs Memphis | @ Miami

Hey all,
Since the patch is now out, it is now safe to start an association. This is my second attempt in doing an association. I hope this goes well and becomes successful unlike the first one. Thanks and wish me luck!

MIP? 1 game of 27 points is not MIP. I've seen some no names spark up for 50. But this is a start. Go Kingless Cavs!

Parker's third quarter surge help Cavs win

Anthony Parker has done it again. After scoring 27 points in their first game, Parker followed it up with another brilliant performance as he scored 26 against the Bobcats.

The game was close through the first 2 quarters as it saw 8 lead changes and no team led more than 6 points. But when the 3rd quarter started, Parker came out waxing hot. He hit 3 consecutive 3-pointers to push their 4 point half-time lead to 13 points. The Cavs never looked back as they beat the Bobcats 100 - 92.

Parker led the Cavs with 26 points. Mo Williams followed him with 19 points. He also grabbed 5 boards and dished 12 assists. Tyrus Thomas and Gerald Wallace scored 20 apiece for the Bobcats.

"I just started to hit them. You know, I hit one, then I started to get confident with my shot. I shot and shot and all of them are falling in. I had a great great game today" said Parker.

That concludes the month of November for the Cavs. They will have back to back games against Phoenix and Denver on the first week of December.

NOTE: Derrick Brown sprained his ankle midway to the fourth quarter and did not return

I can't connect to 2ksports that's why I don't have boxscores today. Sorry.

Cavs roll behind Parker's career high 30 points

The Cavs started their back to back road games with a bang. The Cavs beat the Suns 119-110 to push their record to 3-0. Their best start in recent memory.

The Cavs looked sloppy at the start as the Suns made an 8-0 run. The Cavs made a run of their own but ended the first quarter with a 6-point deficit. The second quarter is when the Cavs made their push. They scored 39 points in the second quarter as opposed to Phoenix's 24.

The Cavs never looked back as they made their lead grow. They outscored the Suns in all the remaining quarters. Parker had a career game as he scored 30 points. He also had 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Mo Williams added 24 points and 10 assists. Williams recorded his second double double of the season.

Grant Hill scored 32 points for the Suns. J-Rich added 28. Steve Nash mananged to score only 4 points in 2-14 shooting. But he dished 14 assists. The Suns now fall to 2-2 after this game.

The Cavs will be meeting the Nuggets at Pepsi Center for their first meeting of the season.

For a moment, I saw your name in this thread, and thought it was a new Thierry topic, but then I realized the title would be something like "BurningEverythingToAshExceptForHeart - Pre-season Game #1 Preview"

But this looks solid. Nice, simple recaps do the job and give it an old-school feel.

Cavs finish road trip with win
Box Score

After winning in Phoenix last night, the Cavs carried their momentum to Denver beating them 112-103.

The Cavs started slow as Denver forced many turnovers from the Cavs and outscored them 32-18. Anthony led the charge with 13 first quarter points. But the Cavs kept their composure and turned the game around in the second quarter. They made a run of their own and outscored the Nuggets 38-25. The Cavs cut the deficit from 14 to 1.

The third quarter became a seesaw battle as both teams exchanged shots. Mo Williams and Carmelo Anthony were the ones who carried their own teams as they exchanged shots one after the other. But one of them has to get cold, and Anthony is that guy. Without Anthony, the Nuggets struggled to score and the Cavs beat them.

Mo Williams led the Cavs with 32 points and 13 assists. Anthony Parker recorded his first triple double of his career as he scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished 10 assits. Jamison scored 15 points off the bench with only 17 minutes of playing time. Anthony led the Nuggets with 32 points and Billups followed with 23.

Well, that's just great. I just like in-depth stories, what's the problem? But you will never see me preview a preseason game again, I've learned the lesson.

On-topic, great wins. I definitely think Parker will be on the MIP race (Y)

Nets hand Cavs first loss of the season
Box Score

The New Jersey Nets went to Cleveland with a mission. To beat the only team with no loss so far in this season. And they did just that. Anthony Morrow led the charge with 35 points in 16-22 shooting. Devin Harris added 20 points.

From the get go the Nets have been unstoppable. They started the quarter with 70% shooting. Anthony Morrow went a perfect 7-7 in the field. The Cavs did not have any answer for the Nets as they tore up the defense with 3 point shots. The first quarter finished with a score of 37-22

In the second quarter the Cavs seemed like they were back on track as they cut the deficit to 6 points.Manny Harris provided the spark of the bench as he scored 6 straight points to start the run. The Nets called a timeout then went back to a surge. The Nets put the lead back to 11 before half time.

Third quarter was back and forth for both teams. The Cavs was not able to make any stops and cut the lead anymore. In the fourth quarter the Cavs practically gave up as they let the Nets score 45 points as opposed to their 26. The game finished with a whopping 30 point lead, 142-112. The Nets scored the biggest output of any team so far in this season. They also shot 60% in the field for the whole game.

NOTE: Anthony Parker strained his abdomen in the fourth quarter and did not return.

Anthony Parker out with strained abdomen

Anthony Parker suffered an injury in last night's game against the Nets. 6 minutes into the third quarter, Parker drove to the lane and had a mid-air collision with Brook Lopez. Parker went down cluthing hit gut. He went to the locker room and did not return.

The Cavaliers' top scorer will be out for 1-2 weeks. Daniel Gibson will likely start in place of Parker. Parker averages 23 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists per game.

Boozer's double double help Bulls beat Cavs
Box Score

The Cavs are having their second game of their back to back home stand. The Cavs are determined to get a win after being blown out by the Nets last night.

The game started to be pretty even as both teams shot the ball equally well. Rebounding was pretty even also as the Cavs grabbed 12 rebounds in the first quarter while the Bulls grabbed 14. After the first, the Bulls led by 3 with a score of 25-22.

The second quarter is when the Cavs went to their usual routine of turning the ball over. In all of the games that the Cavs have played, they turned the ball over more than their opponent. This game is no different. The Cavs turned the ball over 12 times more than the Bulls. But the Cavs' great defense and exceptional shooting kept the game close.

The two teams exchanged leads in the third and no one pulled away by more than 5 points. The Cavs would go on a 5-0 for the most and the Bulls will fight back with their own run. The Bulls though, would still be up by 3 after three.

Coach Byron Scott decided to play his bench in the fourth quarter and that was the crucial mistake that he made. With the Bulls playing their starters to start the fourth, they blitzed on a 10-0 run to push their lead to 13. The Cavs would bounce back though, as the starters were inserted back they cut the deficit to 4 with 15 seconds remaining. But that will be the closest that they can get. Derrick Rose missed his two free throws and the Cavs will have a chance to cut the deficit to 1 with a 3-pointer but Gibson missed it.

Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Derrick Rose added 21 points and dished 11 assists. Luol Deng had 19 points. Mo Williams scored 28 for the Cavs and had 8 assists. Gibson, who started in place of the injured Parker, had 24 and Graham scored 17. The Bulls and Cavs are now tied in the standings as they are both 4-2.

Duncan, Spurs annihilate Cavaliers 144-89
Box Score

The Spurs started out the game strong. And they finished it stronger.

The Spurs used an 8-0 in the first quarter to push their lead to double digits and from there on, they never looked back.

The Spurs had an answer for every comeback attempt that the Cavs will do. The Spurs outscored the Cavs in every quarter and they even scored a season high 43 points in the fourth quarter.

This is the second time in this season that the Cavs allowed 140 or more points in a game. Parker's absence has been crucial for the Cavs as they have nobody to go to when they are in need of points.

The Cavs have not won a single game since the absence of Parker.

Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Manu Ginobili scored 22 and Parker added 19.

The Cavs face the Blazers at home for their next game.

Blazers hand Cavs their fourth straight loss
Box Score

The Blazers and the Cavs come into this game both with losing streaks. One team would end up snapping that streak. And that team was the Blazers.

The Blazers started the game out strong as they humiliated the Cavs in the first quarter. The Blazers are one of the slowest, if not slowest paced teams in the NBA. But the Cavs' non-existent defense made them look like a run and gun team. The Blazers did not score under 30 in all of the quarters and they finished a season high 129 points.

The Blazers led most of the game and had a lead as high as 15. But the Cavs never quit as they try to bounce back with runs of their own. The Cavs scored 41 points in the second quarter to cut the lead to 6 by halftime. The Blazers put the lead back to 15 in the third thanks to Brandon Roy's hot shooting. B-Roy shot 77% for the game and finished with 38 points. He also had 11 assists.

In the fourth quarter though, the Cavs would once again bounce back. Taking advantage of the starters of the Blazers being on the bench, the Cavs went on a tear as they took the lead with 2:56 remaining. But the Blazers quickly answered. Coach Nate McMillan inserted his starters back and they went on a 8-0 run. The Cavs would answer with a Gibson 3pointer to cut the lead to 5. They would make a stop and score another bucket to cut it to 3 with under a minute remaining. The Blazers would milk the clock with under 10 remaining. Their shot clock is still on so they have to put up a shot and it missed. Cavs call timeout.

They executed the perfect play to get Mo Williams an open 3-pointer. He got the ball, squared for the shot and took it.

Swish.

It seemed like the game was tied with 2.6 seconds remaining. But when the officials reviewed the tape, they saw that Mo was stepping on the line. It was ruled a 2-point basket. The Cavs fouled Roy with under 2 seconds remaining and he calmly sank both charities. With no timeouts left, Mo Williams threw a half-court heave to end the game.

"It was heartbreaking, we all thought that we were going to overtime. It was all my fault that I didn't realized that I was stepping on the line" said Mo Williams
