Welcome to my NBA Live 09 (Xbox 360) Chicago Bulls Dynasty Thread! I know I'm a little late this year but between other things getting in the way and waiting for an NBA Live 365 update that suited my tastes and was relatively issue-free, my main Dynasty has been pushed back a bit. In any case, I'm ready to play. As usual, I'll be trying to play all 82 games with 12 minute quarters. The rosters themselves are the January 2nd 365 update, with some corrected positions and reordered to ignore injuries.

Bulls acquire Okur, Miles

Okur and Hughes trade places on the eve of the Bulls' season opener
CHICAGO, IL -- On the eve of the 2008/2009 season, the Chicago Bulls have completed a trade with Utah that will send guard Larry Hughes to the Jazz in exchange for centre Mehmet Okur and swingman CJ Miles. Okur and Miles are expected to be in uniform tomorrow night when the Bulls open their season against Central Division rivals the Milwaukee Bucks.
Hughes, acquired in a midseason trade for Ben Wallace last season, posted averages of 12 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 3.1 apg for the Bulls in 28 games last season, including 25 starts. However, he logged less than thirty minutes per game for the first time since the 2002 season and shot just 38.7% from the field. With the selection of Derrick Rose as the first overall pick in the 2008 Draft and Ben Gordon pegged as the starting shooting guard, it appeared as though Hughes' minutes would be further limited this season.
Mehmet Okur appeared in 72 games for the Jazz last season, scoring 14.5 ppg to go along with 7.7 rpg. He is likely to step immediately into the starting lineup and adds an offensive punch to the frontcourt with the added ability to stretch the defense with his shooting touch from the outside. CJ Miles, in his fourth NBA season after being drafted out of high school, played sparingly last season but is a tremendously athletic player who will likely battle Thabo Sefolosha for backup minutes at shooting guard and small forward.
For the Jazz, the trade will allow Paul Millsap to move into the starting lineup alongside All-Star forward Carlos Boozer. Hughes is expected to start ahead of Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer, complimenting Deron Williams in the backcourt.
