Little Caesars Hot & Ready Dynasty Challenge

My roomate Sam and I decided to wager a little caesars hot and ready pizza on who could take the cavs to win the finals. Yeah its only 5 bucks, 7 if the specialty one is still available but who can deny a challenge to ones gaming skills.

First we set some rules so that we would be limited in what we could do.

Wager: Little Caesars’ Hot ‘N’ Ready ($7 if available)


1. Must start with the Cavs

2. No restarting dynasty mode once already started

3. No reloading dynasty mode to previous save point

4. Can only start each off-season once

5. Injuries must be set on

6. Allowed only two trades in first season

7. In remaining seasons; one trade in off-season and one in-season

8. Cannot re-trade players in the same season; must wait one year

9. Allowed to accept computer initiated trades

10. Allowed to accept other job offers to different teams

11. Can draft however you like (simulate or manual)

12. In playoffs, must play series deciding game (other games optional)

13. Must play all NBA Finals games

14. First person to win NBA Finals is declared winner

15. Winner must concede to wager, otherwise drink liquor concoction

Im playing on the computer and he is playing it on ps2. So i could go through the seasons faster.

Season 1
Cody:
With the addition of Pau Gasol, team struggles to a 33-49 to finish 24th overall missing the playoffs.
Sam:
60-22 but eliminated in round 2 game 7.
Starts with Bosh and Ford

Season 2
Cody:
A lack of effective bigs led me to a last second trade for gilbert arenas, it cost me pau. Finished the season strong but finished 36-46 and 21st overall. My rookie lottery pick made the all rookie team.
Sam:
62-20 but again eliminated in round game 7

Season 3
Cody:
By this time i have added okafor and biedrins to my front court. Lebron is going strong wins mvp. Also added Kevin martin in free agency. Strong season finished 62-20. Made it to finals versus Phoenix Suns. I was ready for glory and won the first game at home. Then Steve Nash, Barbosa, Diaw, and Bell along with strong rejections from marion and amare sent me home 4-1.
Sam:
67-15 and he is up 3-1 on miami, he'll play the spurs or suns in the finals.

Season 4
Cody:
Feeling a little dejected from getting raped by the suns i pulled out the stops and got a big man from miami....kevin garnett, yeah he was traded for shaq last year and they finished last. I was feeling good about the fact that i had three big men to go at what i hoped was a rematch against phoenix. Martin is gone, and my first two lottery picks are proving useful off the bench. I finish 50-32 and Gilbert won the mvp. I get my wish the rematch Suns. They win the first game by 3, i win the second by 2, they win by 7, i win by 5, they raped me by 20, i nearly blow a 25 point lead in the 4th quarter to win by 7. Series tied 3-3. I lose a heart breaker by 5. Offseason he we go.

Season 5
Cody:
Well garnett didnt help as i had wished plus he was declining fast, i managed to use him to get paul pierce. Also steve nash retires so im happy about that, but then again i wont be able to exact my revenge on him. Knowing my days are numbered i finish 60-22 and plow through the playoffs and beat the duncan lead pistons to go face......you guessed it the suns. the only bad thing is i lose pierce for the year in the game. This heated rivalry is about to start round 3 and being ahead of sam by a few seasons i desperately need to win the title this year.

Game 1:
Jump out to 27-22 lead in first quarter behind okafors 16 points.
bench stepped up kept 54-48 at halftime
74-67 3rd. okafor 27, lebron 16
96-96 blew lead headed to overtime.
Lebron fouls out, team folds in typical fashion of years past. Lose 122-109
