Chicago,Ill
Coach Skiles is still shaking his head after this one as the bulls had a chance to win at the buzzer but kirk Hinrich's shot bounced off front iron as the New YouK Knicks held on to win a close one here in Chicago. the Bulls who jumped out to an early lead in the first with a multitude of fast break dunks that was just pretty to watch "We were in the zone that first quarter" says Bulls SF Luol Deng the Bulls led by 7 at the end of one and looked poised to dominate as they opened the second frame on a 12-4 run and had a comfortable 12 point lead midway thru the second then the Knicks showed up and Bulls went home the Bulls had two seperate 5 misses in a row and the Knicks caused 3 turnovers but even with a terrrible quarter the Bulls held a small halftime lead of 41-38 the third quarter was the worst thing that could happen as Hinrich picked up his 4 foul 2 min in "That ref was hounding me all night" said Hinrich after the game. the third quarter just got worse though as the Bulls couldnt find the mark and NY couldnt miss. then this game just got ugly as the Bulls rallied but after pulling within 3 with 2 min to go neither team would hit a shot the rest of the way out. the Bulls looked poised to rally coming out and tying it on Glenn Robinson's 3 12 secs in to the 4th quarter but that would be the last of Robinsons 24 points going 0-13 down the stretch the bulls had a chance as Stephon Marbury. who had 15 points and 9 assists, missed 2 freethrows with 3.1 remaining but Hinrich missed the 3 from the left side "i thought it was going in, it was the best look i had all night" Hinrich said as he left the Bulls Locker Room
these two teams meet again Wed Night in New York it should be a great game
*my record now stands at 21-13 l have lost 2 in a row at home (Sixers and Knicks)
