The Underachievers? The Atlanta Hawks story

Sorry for the corny title, but this is my Atlanta Hawks dynasty.

I will play 3-4 games each season on 10 min quarters and I will post all trades I make (normally 3-4) each season. So without further ado here it is.

After a terrible 2002-2003 NBA season the Atlanta Hawks made drastic changes in the offseason. They traded their top scorer from the previous season, Glenn Robinson, and recieved Terrell Brandon. They drafted rookies Boris Diaw and Travis Hansen. And they signed Stephen Jackson. And on Opening night they surprised the NBA by making some key signings and trades.............

They started by releasing Point Guards Emanual Davis and Jaque Vaughn.

Then they signed Point Guard Tito Maddox and Center James Lang.

Then the trade: Atlanta sends Tito Maddox and Travis Hansen to Seattle and in return they recieved Vitaly Potapenko and Ronald Murray.

Here is the lineup to take on Boston after two months of simming.

Good luck, i look foward to more posts, but why did you trade for Murry then put him on the injured list?? Didnt you edit him before hand??

Thanks for replying. Yeah I forgot to edit him so he is only rated 41 lol. But he does make my roster look better.

Anyway to my Boston game.

Final Scores 108-94 Atlanta wins.

Shareef got player of the game.
Diaw got injured in the first quarter but he was right to play out the game.

Well I simmed to January the 21st to play Chicago, and I made another trade.

Boris Diaw and James Lang to Cleveland for Ira Newble and Bruno Sundov.

I wanted to bring back Ira Newble to Atlanta as he was one of my favourite players.

Please post any thoughts you have.

I rekon you shuold try to get a stronger swingman, i think Ratliff cud be good bait, i like him alot and hes good to play with but with his rating you could get someone quite good, maybe package him and jackson or something.

How do you like Terry? I traded Kirilenko for him, and even though most people in my poll have voted it as a silly trade it think it really paid off, he's dynamite, really quick.

Thanks again for posting match_66. I have thought about trading Jackson or Ratliff but I have made one more trade as you will read below but I am considering a big trade in the offseason which won't be too far away the way I sim!

As for Terry he is lighting quick and I would pick him over Kirilenko any day. He is one of the quickest in the league, and he has a 3 point icon and a defense icon.

I lost to Chicago 106-86.
It was a prettybad game throughout for the Hawks as they never looked like making a comeback. Stephen Jackson was unplayable before the game which forced Dion Glover into the Starting SG spot. I also witnessed one of the greatest NBA Live battles of my career between Chandler and Abdur-Rahim. Abdur-Rahim would get blocked but then he's go down the other end and force Chandler to miss and grab the boards.

T.Chandler 22 points, 6 blocks S.Abdur-Rahim 24 points
T.Ratliff 3 blocks
J.Terry 10 assists

Now to my last trade of the season on deadline day:
D.Dickau and A.Henderson to Utah for M.Madsen and R.Lopez.

A minor trade but I figured I needed a better backup PF than Henderson so I brought in Madsen who is rated better than him.

Lol seems like im the only one posting so far, i know how you feel i hardly get anyone posting in mine, but there are people viewing so its all good.
I rekon that trade wasnt too bad, it really depends wether you play or sim if you play its pretty good, cos Lopez may have a shite rating but hes pretty quick, not too bad a 3 point shooter. Since he is quick hes pretty good at setting up a break.

Interesting dynasty you've started here, but I'd have to agree with match_66, you look like you could use a stronger swingman, someone else who can bring in points aside from Rahim! Try packaging some people up and get one, good luck

if your atlanta team isnt winning, you could try a package deal and put in your first round pick to try get a star from another team. Because you need a better swingman, you could try for Pierce! hey, its worth a shot!
i like your dynasty and i'll be back to read it more, let us know who some of the leaders are in the league.

Thanks so much for your comments guys, I appreciate it. I'm about to go and play Cleveland and I am past the trade deadline so I cant work a trade but I have started thinking about a trade in the offseason but I suppose I have to wait and see what players I need to re-sign and stuff.

I'll post team stats next time.
