I just had probably my most exciting game of the season. We narrowly beat the Wizards by 1 points (112-111). Here's a copy of the recap straight from my website. Enjoy.

One of the best games of the season. Both teams were down by double digit margins at one stage or another, and both managed fightbacks to take this great game right down to the wire.

It was the home team Wizards who got off to the best start. They started the game with a 12-2 run which forced the Bulls into a timeout and to re-structure their team. Jerry Stackhouse scored 15 first quarter points, taking feeds from Gilbert Arenas who had 7 assists in the first alone. The Bulls replaced Crawford, who seemed to struggle early, with rookie Kirk Heinrich who was able to make some good assists. Rose missed several shots early in the first, giving Harpring of the Wizards some easy boards.
At the end of the first, the Wizards were up 32-24.

In the second things tightened up. The game slowed down as both teams put more focus into defense. Rose got things going offensively to finish the half with over 20 points. Harpring continued to take it to Rose however, hitting several shots of his own. Stackhouse and Harpring were great on offense, forcing the Bulls to do many awkward switches which often resulted in open shots or an empty lane. By half time it was the Wizards by 9, and they deffinately were in control of the game.

In the 3rd something amazing happened. The Bulls went on a rampage, producing 43 points for the quarter. This was aided by a 10-0 run early in the 3rd, and back-to-back three point plays by backups Marcus Fizer and Kendall Gill.
The Bulls were 16 of 20 from the field, and 11 from 11 at the charity line for the quarter. The Wizards were very rattled and lost their composure. By the end of the third period the Bulls were up by 13 points, an amazing turn around, and all of a sudden the streak looked safe.

In the fourth something else special happened. The young Wizards showed their heart and passion and desire to win this game. Slowly but surely, they worked their way back into the game. Stackhouse and Harpring lit up from downtown. Hughes took it to the rack, along with Laettner in the paint. Now it was the Bulls who looked shaky as their lead disappeared right in front of them.

With 2:05 left in the game, the Wizards hit the lead by one via a Stackhouse basket. The arena exploded with cheers and the players could hardly contain their emotions. With a couple quick rebounds and baskets the Wizards were out to a 5 point margin, and the game looked over.

Enter Jalen Rose and Kendall Gill. The two Bulls players returned the favour to the upstart Wizards. A Wizards miss and a turnover allowed these two players to make consecutive baskets, leaving the Bulls down by just one. Another defensive rebound by the Bulls with 19.1 seconds to go and a timeout was called.

Everyone knew Rose would take the final shot of the game, but from where, and how.

The ball was imbounded by Rose to Crawford, who used up some clock, then dished to Gill also on the perimeter. Gill dribbled around the arch and passed it off to Rose with 6 seconds left. Rose quickly made his move towards the hoop, pro-hopping towards the rim and threw down a thunderous one hand dunk with just 1.1 seconds on the clock.
The Bulls bench errupted with cheers, as the hearts of the young Wizards sank and the crowd was simply stunned. A final Wizards three point attempt from way downtown was off, and the Bulls had won a huge epic game on the road.

Tough loss Jase. I'm playing the Rockets next in my Bulls season - hopefully I'll have better luck.

Love the Dynasty page. Keep up the good work! (Y)

I'll certainly try. :) They defeated me 131-117 in our first matchup, so I'm looking for revenge anyway.
