TheBigEasy's Hornets Dynasty

Postby TheBigEasy on Tue Nov 25, 2003 8:06 am

Hi Folks,

now it is time for my dynasty. I just played the first game vs. Orlando. But the set up first.

10 minute quarters
All Star
Andrews sliders with Gamespeed reduced to 42
28 game season, NBA schedule
3-3-3-3 playoffs

Lineup:

C - Jamaal Magloire / Sean Rooks
PF - PJ Brown / David West / Robert Traylor
SF - Jamaal Mashburn / George Lynch
SG - Me (67 ovrl) / David Wesley / Courtney Alexander
PG - Baron Davis / Darrell Armstrong

IL - Stacey Augmon and Bryce Drew

First Game vs. Orlando. And the Magic are as crappy as in real life :), although Tyronn Lue was two Rebs short of a triple double. Here are the game stats:

Code: Select all
Entire Game         New Orleans      Orlando

Points              125              107
Bench Scoring       39               26
Field Goals         54/101           45/95
Field Goal %        .535             .474
3 Point FG          11/25            6/24
3 Point %           .440             .250
Free Throws         6/8              11/18
Free Throw %        .750             .611
Rebounds            47               40
Off. Rebounds       6                5
Def. Rebounds       41               35
Blocks              10               3
Steals              6                1
Assists             35               29
Turnovers           13               10
Fouls               17               5

A little bit too much shots, so I have to tighten up the D next time and use the clock more. 3pts were not that much ... and I hit a good percentage of them. I split the minutes, with the starters getting around 25 and the rest split pretty even. David Wesley was injured midway through the first, but was able to come back later. I never trailed and sometimes led by as many as 30. They never had a chance. Now the players ...

POG was Jamaal Mashburn, who had a triple double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Midway through the fourth I realised, he needed 5 more assists for a triple double ... so he got them ;). Jamaal Magloire had 7! blocked shots!

NOH:

Code: Select all
                  Pts  Reb  Ast  Blk  Stl
Jamaal Mashburn   21   10   11     0   0
Jamaal Magloire   20    8    3     7   1
Baron Davis       19    4    1     0   2

Magic:

Code: Select all
                  Pts  Reb  Ast  Blk  Stl
Tracy MacGrady    21    2    3     3   0
Tyronn Lue        18    8   11     0   0

So ... this was the first win, with much to come :). Next one is vs. the Celtics. So far all my players played very good, especially Mash, JMag and Baron ... but my created SG also. I'll keep you updated.

Ok ... played the second game vs. Boston. Was pretty close all the way, but I still managed to win. Mash got hurt midway through the first, but could return later. I had him sit out the second quarter and returned him late in the third. So he couldnt get a triple double again. But the rest stepped up, Baron Davis was POG with 25 points and 8 boards.

I couldnt stop Paul Pierce, who had 44 points, but they still lost.

Here are the stats:

Entire Game         Boston           New Orleans

3 Point %           .273             .471
Free Throws         10/21            15/19
Free Throw %        .476             .789
Rebounds            49               44
Off. Rebounds       6                3

Scores are kind of high arent they? If you want to try another set of sliders, try Ben's, very realistic IMO.

I get scores around the 90-105.

Well yes ... they are kinda high ... but I guess it is just my playing style. I have to tighten the D and use the clock more.

Anyway ... I have played two more games. @Atlanta and vs. the Lakers. I lost both :(.

@Atlanta:

Code: Select all
Entire Game         New Orleans      Atlanta

Points              112              118
Bench Scoring       37               30
Field Goals         45/105           49/100
Field Goal %        .429             .490
3 Point FG          4/20             3/15
3 Point %           .200             .200
Free Throws         18/21            17/23
Free Throw %        .857             .739
Rebounds            55               53
Off. Rebounds       10               4
Def. Rebounds       45               49
Blocks              3                2
Steals              7                4
Assists             22               27
Turnovers           16               11
Fouls               19               15

At times I managed to get away, then them. In the end I managed to rally back from a 10 point deficit to tie it at 102 at the end of regulation. In overtime I wasnt able to pull away, so they won it. Abdur-Rahim killed me in this game. He had 34 pts and 16 boards.

For the Hornets BD was best with 29 pts (9/9 from the line), 3 stl and 6 ast.

Next one was at home vs. the Fakers. I controlled the whole game, right until midway through the fourth. I was up by 20 midway through the 3rd, but they still won.

Code: Select all
Entire Game         LA Lakers        New Orleans

Points              117              110
Bench Scoring       8                35
Field Goals         47/104           52/107
Field Goal %        .452             .486
3 Point FG          7/26             3/19
3 Point %           .269             .158
Free Throws         16/22            3/5
Free Throw %        .727             .600
Rebounds            59               51
Off. Rebounds       11               6
Def. Rebounds       48               45
Blocks              3                5
Steals              1                5
Assists             20               24
Turnovers           8                11
Fouls               5                17

Payton was POG with 32 points and 11 assists. On my side my Rookie David West was quite impressive, posting his first double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. But I still couldnt win. I am still trying to figure out how they could have gotten back into the game.

And I think, I have to trade Sean Rooks or Tractor Traylor, or both. Cause they simply suck. They both cant score anything and on the defensive end they are also not that good.

Or I just delete this dynasty, install Andrews new roster, and start a new one.

Man stick with traylor, i found he was quite good off the bench, you just have to give him the ball when hes got a little bit of space then use the pro hop move, he does dat power dribble thing, then try dunk it, i was getting bout 10ppg and 8rpg with him when i did a NO dynasty.
