Colin's T-Dot Dynasty

Postby Colin on Tue Nov 18, 2003 12:50 pm

To get you up to speed, before I started the dynasty I waived Bateer and signed Colin (89 ovrl, pg.) As soon as the season started I waived Milt Palacio in favour of Joe Forte, and traded Antonio Davis to Boston for Raef Lafrentz, my only roster update to the default was creating me and trading Walker and Lafrentz. Surprisingly Raef has provided good post D. Those 2 inches make a difference. Now my settings.

All-Star
6 minute quarters
28 game season
3-3-3-3 playoff format
(I will post my slider settings later, I don't know how to access them outside the game, if anyone knows that'd be a big help. I'll write them down sometime soon otherwise)

So far I've played two games, against the Nets and T-Wolves. I forgot to save stats in the T-wolves game.

I lost to the Nets, allthough it was a close game but I couldn't hit a 3 to save my life, so I upped 3's on the slider by 5 (to 55, may seem high but I like it.)

Changing this to fit was a lot of trouble, so no more full player stats, just main ones.

I won my second game against Minnesota despite terrible free-throw shooting from everyone. The score wa something like 69-60. I got KG in foul trouble by taking a charge on post ups and having Bosh go at him when he came on.

Hope you enjoy my franchise. (Y)

I think you can access sliders from the main menu, or the dynasty menu. Just go to settings and click either gameplay settings or ingame settings, i cant remember which.

I know that, but I don't want to do the minimize, maximize thing while writing them down, I've changed them in game.

Ahh, my bad. I thought you meant outside of a game like Toronto vs Minnesota or something

whoosh right over my head

Anyway, maybe you could limit the alt-tabbing by taking screenshots of the sliders and writing them after? you'd probably only need about 5 screenshots i'd guess.

True I'll try that.

Next up is Dallas and I'm probably gonna get killed. Literally, if I don't post here again it's probably because Dallas killed me in NBA Live.

Sorry for the long wait, but due to homework and the in-ability to save games I hadn't played the game yet. I just played Dallas and actually won, 76-70. Colin won the player of the game by scoring 33 on 14-20 shooting (I only drove the ball) and 5-6 from the line. Colin also recorded 3 boards and 4 assists. The Raptors shot 54% for the game and Dallas shot 52%. I'm very forgetful and didn't save stats. Or take slider screenies.

Recap

This was very close game the Raptors almost lost for good in the 2nd quarter. After electing to keep starters in for another 30-60 seconds at the 5:30 mark in the 2nd there was no play stoppage until there was a mere 30 seconds left. My starting line-up was virtually dead and Dallas had built a 12 point lead, 38 - 26 at the end of the half. In the third Colin came out firing making 5 straight shots for the Raptors as part of a 12 - 2 run to bring the game within 2. Dirk Nowitzki proceeded to make an insane ammount of adjusted shots by flicking it right over JYD's outstreched hands. The reffing was terrible as not a single offensive foul was called for the Mavericks in the second half. It especially showed as they shot 60% in the 3rd keeping a 1 point lead heading into the fourth. Antione Walker subbed in for Nowitzki and made a few hoops to extend it to 7. Then Alvin Williams stepped up made two lay-ups and made a beautiful kick out for a fake and drive from Joe Forte. Then with 1:10 left VC was back in and hit a 3 from the right corner to make it a 5 point game, 73 - 68. After nearly wunning the clock out Dallas missed a three Toronto threw the outlet and a questionble no call on a lay-up by Mo Peterson gave Dallas the ball back with 30 on the clock. The proceed to get it into to Shawn Bradley for the dunk and 20 seconds left. Mo-Pete ended up with it again at the line and made 1 of 2 to put the game away with a 4 point lead. Dallas missed again and Toronto threw the ball upcourt for a wide open Chris Bos dunk to make the final score 76-70.

0-2 Washington is up next, Larry Hughes is questionable and Brendan Haywood won't play. Also Anthony Mason and Shaq are out for a respective 6 dyas and 2 weeks. With recovery bars at about 1/4.

Sorry for another long wait, f*in homework.

Anyway I played Washington (0-3 at the time) and LA (2-1 at the time) Las was minus Shaq, so that made everything about a million times easier.

Against Washington both teams shot above 65% for almost the whole game as it was high speed fast breaking. I didn't mind the high % for one game as it was both teams. Washington scored about 5 points in the 4th, which dropped their % to a more normal 48%. Mine went up due to their lack of defensive recovery. I had 24 "hustle points" for the game (16 from fast break, 8 from 2nd chance.) Stackhouse was the big performer for Washington with 15-18, Colin won the POTG with 29 points and 6 assists. If you haven't figured it out, I won the game. Stats...

(New Feature) Highlight of the game...Colin slamming home an absolute facial on the break. If I had a site I'd show you a fancy screenie, but no, html doesn't like me, I don't like it, and we have a mutual dislike.

I have no stats for my LA game, but I won by 21, they hardly ever gave the ball to Kobe, he had a quiet 17 while shooting about 70% and making about 4 three's. GP controlled their offence scoring 19, but only shooting about 45%. Vince helped give me the lead by scoring 17 first half points, and Colin carried it the rest of the way ending up with 25 points, 7 dimes, and 4 boards (boards all in the 1st, I was hoping triple-double.) I think the final score was about 80-59.

Highlight of the game...Morris Peterson starts on the right block runs a route out to the three point line, to the top of the key and down, then calls for an alley-oop from Colin and slams it home with two hands. This was after attempting to get about4 previous ones to go down.

Injury update: Jermaine O'Neal (IND, NBA's leading rebounder and 2nd in scoring) is out for roughly two weeks. Brian Grant (MIA, nothing special about this mofo) out for 9 days. Shaq will most likely be back in about 5 days from what the recovery bar tells me. I love that recovery bar.

BTW, Vince lead the league in FT attempts with 30 and has sank 23, Colin is 3rd or 4th with 19 out of 25 (bad % I know) Colin leads the leage in scoring and Raef is tearing up the boards with two double figure rebounding nights the past two games.

Do you like my franchise? What can I do to improve (other than a site, and more stats, site = never, stats = I forget, maybe I should write a note) Anyways, tell me.

I played myself another game. This one was against the Rockets, I would have been done yesterday if it wasn't for minmizing doing something else coming back and downloading/installing patches, all while the game is minimized, anyways the game crashed as soon as I exited the game and I ended up having to replace all the render files from the disc. :(

I remembered to save my stats this time.
Code: Select all
Entire Game         Houston          Toronto

Points              55               68

3 Point FG          3/17             5/8
3 Point %           .176             .625
Free Throws         8/10             13/21
Free Throw %        .800             .619
Rebounds            31               33
Off. Rebounds       4                7
Def. Rebounds       27               26

Steals              1                6
Assists             10               12
Turnovers           11               5
Fouls               14               5

As you can see the shooting %'s were low, due to my missing of every single lay-up with someone within 2 feet and my defence that kept the Rockets out of the key (BTW, Yao only had about 4 points on me :) ) and left them outside to brick three's. I made my 3's but I play an inside out game so I usually drive (and abuse pro-hop) and if I'm really stuck and there's a wide open player outside Ill kick it out. They did foul me a lot inside but I just couldn't capitalize, especially with the 1-6 from the line Morris Peterson.

Colin won POTG with 25 and 8. Vince had 19-20 and Mo-Pete had 12 (should have been at least 15, stupid free-throws) Next up is the 4-1 Philadelphia Sixers.

Trade:
I made another trade, I was looking for a taller back-up center who could give me a bit more offence. I looked at Magloire and made a few offers but no deal, then I went after Keon Clark and ended up with this trade:

Utah trades:
Keon Clark
Jarron Collins

Toronto trades:
Jerome Moiso
Michael Bradley (for some reason teh interest bar on this guy was about halfway :? )
Michael Curry (just to make the salaries work)
