We did really well to fight back in the last quarter and be in the contest up until the last possession, but I just couldn't get a stop at the other end.

Booker missed a couple of three pointers in the final minute which could have leveled the scores. It was a disappointing loss.

Tough loss. Came pretty close to pulling it off. If it's any consolation, it makes things a little more interesting as a reader compared to an easy sweep. (Y)

I was expecting a sweep, but looks like it was quite a battle with LaVine doing his best to keep the Bulls' hopes alive.

Yeah, I get that. I always feel a little bit guilty when I sweep teams, like people will think I'm playing on easy difficulty or something

Andrew wrote:I was expecting a sweep, but looks like it was quite a battle with LaVine doing his best to keep the Bulls' hopes alive.

Apparently he can shoot :x I always just thought of him as the great athlete from the dunk contests.

I may need to switch Iguodala onto him on defense to try and slow him down. I can't afford to risk Booker getting into foul trouble.

To be fair, they did beat LeBron's Cavs and the top seeded Sixers to get there. It definitely isn't the "best" team from each conference though.

Bamba fouled out with over six minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Len and Booker combined for 22 points in the fourth. Len in particular was a hero for us. He kick-started the last quarter fightback.

This was probably the most intense game that I've ever played. For the first three and a half quarters the lead changed hands on every other possession and never really went beyond 5 points for either team.

So happy to win this game because obviously having a 3-1 lead is a lot better than sitting at 2-2 and Chicago having the momentum.

Everything seemed to come together for me in that last quarter. Very happy to grab a road win.

A 3-1 lead is great, but the Bulls have become tougher with each game since that opening game blowout. Fingers crossed though (Y)

It has been a rapid rise by this team. But it also hasn't happened overnight, for sure.

I definitely owe Westbrook a ring if we win. I'm pretty sure that we would not have beaten the Warriors in a seven game series

"I can only tell you what I saw. What I saw was the biggest heroism case since Ray Allen saved LeBron James' legacy in 2013! Kris Dunn not only just SAVED the Chicago Bulls hopes and dreams last night, but made my prediction of Phoenix winning it all questionable! I told you a few weeks ago I believed this Playoff run by Devin Booker has been only a hair's breadth away from his idol, Kobe Bryant's, status of Michael Jordan-esque levels, but last night's performance by Kris Dunn? Man! That fadeaway three-point shot that just dropped through the net like it was destiny? I had doubt these last few days if Chicago could pull out a punch to equal these Suns output, but they did it! So Shannon Sharpe, let me say, after last night, Chicago really made me have a few doubts on the Suns' lasting power through the rest of the Finals. Booker is still, to me, better this playoff run than any other player I've seen, but can he last? Len had a good game, but LaVine just had a double-double night dishing the ball marvelously! I think he had 12 assists? 11? This team isn't a joke, and like I said, can the Suns maintain their push in game 6? After last night, I am not as confident that they can."
- Excerpt of how I imagine Skip Bayless would react, 2019

I have to say I enjoyed the game, and terrible luck with Dunn and LaVine going off. I think Markannen getting the offensive rebound and foul really put the dagger in the game. Overall a big fan of the story though and caught up these last few days as I've been sick, rooting for the Suns to pick it up and close the door on these Bulls!

I don't know who I played against in the first two games of this series, because from game three on it has felt like playing against the Warriors.

We had so many chances to win this game and seal the championship.

Chicago always seemed to conveniently score a three pointer whenever I got a little bit of momentum going. Then they would close the gap again.

So many little errors cost us. Stepping out of bounds randomly, not grabbing a rebound when we outnumbered them 3-1 in the paint and falling over for no reason and allowing them an open three pointer

Just another frustrating game. Having a game seven is fitting for this series though. These teams are so evenly matched.

So close. Booker had a solid look. Would've been nifty to win the championship on a buzzer-beater.

Game 7, though, doesn't get any better than that. Can't wait!

Tough game. These guys are obviously rather tough and seemed to pick up the intensity as you mentioned around game 2 or 3 from your posts. You have said it is frustrating, but I think thematically going to game 7 is only fitting. The teams are evenly matched and both Cinderella stories have to have a fitting end I think.

I was a bit worried when the Bulls beat the Sixers because I figured that it may result in a lopsided finals series. But they have really exceeded my expectations of them.

I'm glad that game seven is in Phoenix :bday:

I had the exact same thought when it initially happened. But I forgot about it until I was going through the highlights later.

It definitely looks like the ball comes off of Len. Luckily for Chicago I missed the shot

I probably should have made that shot. It was one of the most open shots I got all game

At least I get to try and lift the trophy in our home arena.

It's actually a shame that one of these teams has to lose this series. Although that sentiment probably won't cross my mind once game seven starts

What a series!

I got major game five deja vu halfway through the last quarter after they erased my nine point lead and took the lead for themselves. We rallied this time though and held on to win the title :bday:

Neither of us were the favourites to get here, but we were so well matched and put on a great contest. Hopefully this turns into a good rivalry.

2019 Finals MVP

Devin Booker - Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker was the favourite to win this award before the series started and he didn't disappoint. The twenty-two year old shooting guard averaged nearly twenty-six points and four assists a night in the seven games against Chicago. He did so on very high efficiency shooting.

He was pretty consistent throughout the Suns entire playoff run, only having a few off nights at the offensive end. He effectively used a combination of perimeter shooting and finishing at the rim to accumulate points.

One particular highlight came in game four of their conference semifinals series with Minnesota. He became only the second Phoenix player in franchise history to score fifty or more points in a playoff game by dropping fifty-one against the stunned Timberwolves.

His nightly scoring battles with Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn were definitely the highlight of the NBA Finals. The Chicago duo finished second and third respectively in the voting after averaging just over nineteen points per game each.

Booker's agent Leon Rose will be especially happy with his accomplishment. Booker is nearing the end of his rookie contract with the Suns and will now have even more bargaining power when seeking a max contract extension.

He gave Suns fans some more positive news following game seven, saying "We've been in constant contact with Ryan [McDonough, Suns GM] throughout the playoffs. We feel confident that everything is moving in the right direction and that this will come to a happy conclusion for all involved."

Booker is expected to be offered a five-year max contract by the Suns on July 1st.
