BRYANT-JORDAN RIVALRY ENDS IN OT
Montreal Ravens [5-1] @ Chicago Bulls [2-4] 115-116 Nov. 9, Chicago – Michael Jordan, considered by the whole world as the greatest NBA player of all time, scored a season-high 40 points against the 21 year old Kobe Bryant who also had a great night shooting the basketball as he dropped 30 against Jordan, a feat not many can do against the greatest player to ever walk the planet.
The Ravens ended the 1st half with a 1-point lead and ended the 2nd half with a 1-point deficit no thanks to Michael Jordan’s floater with 27.2s remaining over the stretched arms of Chuck Person and Kobe Bryant. Chicago got the lead to 3 points with 8.6s remaining and Montreal saw a way to tie the game and send it to double overtime.
Coming out of the timeout, Wallace inbounded the ball to Bryant and Garnett prepared a screen for him. Bryant let it fly at the buzzer and it went in. Much to their dismay, his foot was on the line and the referees counted it as a two-pointer instead of a 3 which should’ve sent the game to 2OT.
“Well you can’t do anything about it, man. I was just out of place and my focus at that time was just to shoot the ball before the buzzer. The loss is all on me.” remarked Bryant on his last shot.
