I'm guessing he'd have to trade for a few expirings to have a shot at doing that.

Maybe MJ is targeting Stephen Curry? But still there is a lot of FA to choose from if he didn't get CP or Dwight

no chance in hell :lol: unless i start trading for expirings as Andrew mentioned and don't re-sign Curry; not exactly out of the question atm as I'm not exactly sold on Mayo just yet; I think I need someone else, just not sure who :?

DAMN! never thought of that; just like Meal Ticket huh? losing Steph to FA might mark the end of the road for this dynasty if it came to that; it'd be like losing Agent Zero or Baron all over again (and every other player that left to become All-Stars elsewhere)

WEEK 4: November 18 - 24, 2012

Image
Shift+Click individual game tabs for Box Scores

Image

Stephen Curry shot 7-7 from the charity stripe in the 4th-qtr help to Golden State edge Miami 124-117… Daequan Cook shot a red-hot 14-19 including 3-4 from downtown to lead the Heat with 34 pts… Warriors rookie Ayana Edney hyper-extended his right knee after an awkward landing and left the match after playing only 8 min… he finish with 6 pts

Image

As they'd done to that other LA team a week prior, Golden State dominated the Clippers from opening tip… OJ Mayo led the charge with 27 pts while David Lee and Andris Biedrins controlled the paint in a combined 20 reb effort… playing injured, Ayana Edney led the bench with 11 pts, 3 ast on 5-6 shooting… Blake Griffin led the Clippers with 23 pts, 8 reb who shot a forgettable 0-7 beyond the arc

Image

Trailing 117-118 with 32.2 remaining Austin Daye came up huge, drilling the go-ahead trey from downtown, then an "and-1" drive to the bucket two possessions later to snatch only Detroit's second victory of the season… Golden State accumulated 26 fouls as the Pistons formed a conga line to the free-throw stripe in an astonishing 41 trips to the Warriors 16

Image

The Thunder called time with 18.3 seconds left in the match and the score tied 110-110… they got the ball in the hands of superstar Kevin Durant who then buried a clutch three over 2 defenders to seal the victory… Durant finished with 20 pts; Dwyane Wade with 16 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast and Jeff Green anchored OKC with a team-high 25 pts… Steph Curry notched 28 pts, 7 ast in defeat

Great win over the Clippers, shame about the two losses to end the week. Not too bad a loss against the Pistons considering the free throw discrepancy though.

yeah, the bastards are still sore from us whoopin' on them 3-1 last season hah;

megarover wrote:When Daye is one of all people scoring on you down the stretch it must sting a bit :?

actually i like Daye; long, lanky framed Forward with Guard-ish tendencies, he's like a poor man's Durant... like broke, penniless, dirt poor :lol:

Lamrock wrote:Tough losses to end the week. Just noticed that the blue thing on the back of the jersey was a trolley. :oops:

i only recently noticed it a few days prior to using the jersey's for the season more by accident than anything else lol;

my squad gets up for playing LA teams for some reason; but yeah, that FT discrepancy was nuts! usually we're the ones getting to the line more but on that night? we couldn't look at their players w/o picking up a foul;

Thierry • wrote:Man, 110+ points every night (Y) I struggle to get to 100.

yeah, i could say, "That's Warriors basketball!" but honestly it's the gameplay settings; even GS can't keep up that pace so i'm doing some tweaks to try and bring that down just a bit;

Valor wrote:2-2, not a bad week, but could be better; tough losses man :wink:

we'll take the split ;) though the Detroit L really sucked since they are one of the league's bottomfeeders

WEEK 5: November 25 - December 1, 2012

Image
Shift+Click Individual game tabs for Box Scores

Image

With both teams shooting over 53% from the field, the Warriors out-gunned the Kings in total shot attempts 91 to 77… OJ Mayo led Golden State with 29 pts on 11-19 shooting and Anthony Morrow went 7-9 for 15 pts to lead the bench… David Lee had another solid double-double with 19 pts, 12 reb while Tyreke Evans also notched one with 16 pts, 10 ast for the Kings

Image

Epic. For the second time this season the Warriors routed the defending champion Lakers by a margin of 20 or more… close only for a quarter, Golden State pulled away on a streak of 12 consecutive made buckets starting midway through the 2nd-qtr and carrying into the 3rd period… stifling defense limited LA to 18 pts in both the 3rd & 4th quarters… OJ Mayo torched Kobe Bryant for a game-high 37 pts while Bryant struggled on just 2-11 shooting, 0-4 from beyond the arc, to finish with a season-low 4 pts.

Image

The Warriors choked a 12-pt third quarter advantage outscored 30-18 in the final period of regulation to send the match into OT, where they were pummeled into submission by OKC's frontcourt tandem of Nene and Jeff Green… the duo had a double-double each and accounted for 47 pts, 28 rebs… Oklahoma's high-powered assault saw four players reach 22 pts or better while OJ Mayo ended a red-hot week leading Golden State with 34 pts… unfortunately Kelenna Azubuike went down injured just before halftime later assessed to be a bone spur in his left foot… Azubuike is expected to miss approx. 2 weeks

Current Record: 10-7

Week 6 Preview

EDIT: Added 'Current Record' and fixed a mathematical inaccuracy which said, "Golden State led by 15 at the half," vs. LAL where in fact they only led by 8 then turned on the afterburners in the 3rd qtr... Math. Just not my thing :lol:

OKC's definitely the real deal. Nene may have been the missing link for them and i think they got a new/better assistant coach over the off-season so they're training better/faster/stronger as well :(

hahah yeah, not really sure what's going on with them but they're nowhere near looking like defending champs; in fact, they're struggling just to stay within 8th-seed range even after i helped them out by forcing the Gerald Wallace trade :? ah well... screw 'em lol

The fuzzy picture surrounding Carmelo trade talks may be coming into focus for Golden State

Warriors Wishing For A "Melo" Christmas?

December 1, 2012 Oakland, CA (AP) -- During the off-season, rumors swirled that a sign & trade attempt by the Golden State Warriors to acquire Denver's perennial All-Star Forward, Carmelo Anthony, went sour due to a last minute change of heart by owner Chris Cohan who reportedly was unwilling to include certain 'protected' Warriors players in a proposed trade package. With Anthony re-signing to Denver and Golden State picking up OJ Mayo for a long-term contract at the start of the season, most figured the matter to be closed; however this may not be the case as rumors of a pending trade have rekindled.

An anonymous source close to Melo's agent reported that securing OJ Mayo was part of the Nuggets prerequisites to any potential deal and that negotiations between the two camps have in fact continued. In addition to Mayo, other names circulated in what the source claimed to be an 'imminent' trade included Andris Biedrins, Roger Mason, Anthony Morrow, DeAndre Jordan, as well as Kelenna Azubuike.

For now, any potential blockbuster between the two teams remains speculation at best, at least for the next two weeks with Azubuike out for said duration due to an aggravated bone spur injury.

Whether there's fire behind these smoky rumors remains to be seen.
