KNICKS AND NUGGETS INVOLVED IN ANOTHER TRADE
The Knicks have been 9-7 and since the trade and are currently in the 6th seed in the playoff picture in the East, but Carmelo Anthony has yet to sign the 3 year, $65 million extension...until now. The Knicks have stated that Carmelo is happy being with the team and just wanted to make sure they were headed in the right direction. Their standings could be better, but is favorable, which is why they decided to conduct two more trades.
First they talked with the Nuggets again and worked out a deal to land Carmelo's running mate Chancey Billups, whom had success together in the playoffs. They then made a cost cutting move to acquire Corey Brewer from the Timberwolves in exchange for Anthony Randolph and Ryan Gomes.
Corey Brewer is rumored to be bought out by the trade deadline. If he is the possible teams that would be interested start with the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics among others.
Since the trade, Melo has been very happy and showed it by scoring 41 points with his new/old teammates in a narrow 3 point win against the Bulls
The Nuggets were sad to let Denver native Billups go, but with Melo gone they were in rebuilding mode. They plan to start their new acquisition Raymond Felton in the time being and have sent Ty Lawson do the D-League to avoid the two Point Guards from clashing in minutes. In the long run however, they envision Ty Lawson as they believe he is their point guard of the future with Felton accepting a 6th man role.

NETS ANSWER WITH TRADES OF THEIR OWN
In light Knicks recent trade, the Nets have made a bold move to acquire their own star to build around in Deron Williams.
Rumors have been circulating that Jazz long time coach Jerry Sloan has not been eye-to-eye with Deron and management has decided that it is time to move him before he messes up their system in Utah. Devin Harris, a former all-star with Dallas will replace Williams in the starting lineup and sources have said that Devin is honored to run the Jerry Sloan system. Along with Harris comes rookie Derrick Favors, adding to an already strong front court of Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap.
The Nets hope to start with Deron Williams as a stepping stone to acquire more talents through Free Agency as they have virtually given up all but 1 pick in the 2012 draft. They are also taking a risk as they have 2 years to convince Deron to sign a contract extension or else risk losing him in Free Agency in 2012.
In addition, they have also moved Troy Murphy to the Warriors for Brandan Wight and Dan Gadzuric. The Warriors are rumored to buyout Murphy's contract by the trade deadline, if so, the Boston Celtics or the Miami Heatseem to be the front runners to sign Murphy.
