As possible as I can, I look forward to this one. Good luck with the hype. I agree with Thierry, there should be a role for Brandon Roy.

2011-12 Portland Trail Blazers Season Preview
October 31, 2011 - Tomorrow night, the NBA season kicks off after an accelerated offseason and shortened training camp. It also comes just a week after the announcement that Blazers franchise player Brandon Roy would retire due to degenerative knees.
Although Roy had by far the worst season of his career last year (averaging 12.2 points on 40% shooting in just 47 games) save for one last legendary moment, his retirement ushers in an era of uncertainty for the Blazers. However, this team did win 48 games last season with an ineffective Brandon Roy, no small thanks to the emergence of LaMarcus Aldridge as an all-NBA player. After four seasons of marginal improvement, Aldridge came into his own with Roy in and out of the lineup, finishing the season with career high averages of 21.8 points and 8.8 rebounds.
The mid-season addition of Gerald Wallace last year in addition to the free agency additions of Jamal Crawford, Craig Smith and Kurt Thomas round out what looks to be a playoff team. Whether they can compete with the league's elite, or even get out of the first round is the question. The fate of the season could come down to the play of Raymond Felton, acquired in an off-season deal for veteran point guard Andre Miller and moody Spaniard Rudy Fernandez. Despite his stocky physique, Felton gives the Blazers a much quicker option at the point.
With rotation players Gerald Wallace, Raymond Felton, Jamal Crawford, Nicolas Batum, Greg Oden (sad that this is his only mention) and Marcus Camby all eligible for free agency this summer, this should prove to be a pivotal season in Blazers basketball. If all doesn't go well, the team might just have to hire a general manager.
2010-11 Record: 48-34 (3rd Northwest, 6th West, eliminated by DAL 4-2 in first round)
Players Added: Raymond Felton (trade), Jamal Crawford (free agency), Craig Smith (free agent), Kurt Thomas (free agent), Nolan Smith (draft)

Really cool article. I wasn't aware of the fact that all your key players except LA will be eligible for Free Agency. Could turn out to be a huge rebuild if this season fails.

The Blazers on paper are actually pretty solid, I see you winning close to 50 games and possibly making the second round if no injuries come your way

I'm gonna predict 48-34 & a 2nd round exit
Team talent suggests you could go win another half dozen games but you might take a little while to get use to 2K12.

My prediction is same as X's except reversed, 34-48 it is.

Nah, come on shadow, this team will win no less than 40 games.

I dunno guys, Oden is injured.
In all seriousness, if you LMA injury-free, a 44 win season would be nice.

May be a few days before this gets underway. Deciding on whether I want to get 2K12 for PS3 or whether its worth getting a new 360. Would need to remake the NLSC draftees for this if I took the PS3 route, but we'll see how it goes.
If anybody ends up correctly guessing our win total for the year, they get points.

Personally I prefer PS3 over 360

What are the prices like over there?
As for the prediction, I am same as The X in terms of a record of 48-34, but falling short of the second round

After tax, it'd be about $220 for a new 4GB Xbox, $150 for a white refurbished one that'll just break, and $55 for a PS3 copy of 2K12. I have a lot of content invested in Xbox Marketplace and quite a few games, but it seems hard to justify now. I don't really care for any of Xbox's exclusives.

Price of the XBox seems pretty much the same, but 55 usd for 2k12?! quite expensive compared to prices over here...there is the advantage of being able to play online without paying extra like you do with XBox live though

In the end, its up to you

The Month Ahead: November 2011
The Portland Trail Blazers will kick off their season November 3rd at home versus the division rival Denver Nuggets. Portland will play 15 games in the month of November, with six of those at home, and eight against 10-11 playoff teams. The Blazers will look to start the season off strong, and big tests will come in the form of the visiting Chicago Bulls, then later on the road against the defending champion Dallas Mavericks.
Question Of The MonthHow many games will the Blazers win in November? (must answer before first November game recap)
----------And we're back! After acquiring a PS3 copy of 2K12 (so glad my 360 copy was borrowed from Gamefly) and remaking the draft classes, this will be starting up again. The first posts have been updated, and will be hopefully useful for reference down the line.
Each in-game month (and probably other intervals as well) will have a contest like this. Points earned will go towards your NLSC player's draft stock.
Fri Feb 10, 2012 11:24 am
im going to go with 9 wins
Fri Feb 10, 2012 11:34 am
I'd say 9 as well. 4 of your first 5 are tough games, but I think you should come good towards the end of the month.
Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:03 pm
I say you'll win 10 games. You might be able to upset Denver or LA in one of your first two games, and as long as you take advantage of the home games, that's certainly feasible.
Fri Feb 10, 2012 3:24 pm
11.
Fri Feb 10, 2012 3:54 pm
13. I know you can play the game unlike the X who suck in 2k.
Fri Feb 10, 2012 11:54 pm
Going with 8.
Sat Feb 11, 2012 1:53 am
8, with losses @DEN, @LAC, vs SAS, vs CHI, @IND, @DAL, @ATL
