Melo sinks Kings in a close one

A usual picture in this game

Denver Nuggets 75-73 Sacramento Kings

Another fourth-quarter-fairytale the Nuggets recieved from Carmelo Anthony: The Syracuse-alumni out of Brooklyn, NY, lifted his team over the struggling Kings who are now standing at 1-3. After scoring 15 points in the first half, Anthony went dead-silent in the third, scoring no points at all. The audience being angry about the Nuggets' problems with the lousy Kings, pushed the team and merely Anthony to a fourth-quarter-rally to overcome the five point deficit. Carmelo played the whole last quarter, scoring 14 points whilst also sinking 2 treys. In the clutch he went crazy, scoring the nine last points Denver's - also the game winning shot with 3.6 seconds left on the clock.

"He was absolutely awesome in the last", Chauncey Billups was quoted, "I will miss playing with him. His efforts are very important for us." Billups also was strong in this game, grabbing 5 rebounds to his 15 points but had strong problems with his counterpart Beno Udrih. The slovenian King nearly recorded a Triple Double.

"We will try to keep this going", said Coach George Karl in the post game conference, Denver now has won three games in a row.

Denver Nuggets:
Carmelo Anthony: 29 P, 4 R, 1 A
Chuncey Billups: 13 P, 5 R, 4 A
Ty Lawson: 9 P, 2 A, 3-4 3P

Sacramento Kings:
Tyreke Evans: 19 P, 1 R, 2 A
Carl Landry: 15 P, 5 R, 1 A
Beno Udrih: 13 P, 9 R, 7 A

Chapter 2

Stanley Kroenke faced Isiah in the meeting room of the Nuggets' office, taking an expectantly look onto the face of this former basketball hero back in the 80's. 'How has he changed', Kroenke thought quietly to himself, wondering how the years had left their marks in Thomas' face.

"Ok, so what do you got up here?", he started the meeting. "Some different things - two main points are in our focus.", Isiah responded. "Firstly, Melo has once again demanded a trade in the media. Although we assured that from now on, he's the fix point of the organization, he still wants out."

Taking a look at today's newspaper, Kroenke said ironically "Yes, that's nothing new." - "I think, we must be realistic here. The earlier we are, the more we'll recieve in exchange for him. That's the law of the market."

"Hmm. Well, you're right in this one. We should move something around in this matter", Kroenke admitted. "I'm sad to see him leaving. However - the other point?" Thomas nodded in agreement with Stanley's point.

"Yes. The good thing is - we already recieved some fantastic offers." - "How many?", Kroenke insisted. "In total, 29. There are some offers, that are not worth the electricity to show it - other's are fantastic."

With every word, the team owner got more interested. He was happy that this meeting wasn't going to get as boring as so many in the past. "For example", Isiah looked on his sheet of paper, "...Oklahoma wants Melo and Ty for Durant." - "Fantastic!", Kroenke shouted out. "Not really. Despite this, they want us to pick up Nick Collison." That's makes it look good and bad both."

Both stopped talking, when a secretary walked in to bring in some Coke. When she left, Thomas wanted to continue. But when Kroenke looked on his watch, he stopped him in his beginnings. "I'm sorry - got some serious business to take care of. Just leave me  that sheet of paper here, ok?!" - "Of course, we can continue it later!"

The two shook hands, then Isiah stepped outside. While packing his bag, Kroenke looked on that sheet:
• MIA: Bosh <> Anthony, 2nd 11
• OKC: Durant, Collison <> Anthony, Lawson
• GSW: Lee/Ellis <> Anthony, Harrington, 1st 12
• NYK 1: Stoudemire <> Anthony, 2nd 11
• NYK 2: Felton, Chandler, Gallinari, 1st 14, 2nd 12, 2nd GSW 13 <> Anthony, Billups, S. Williams, Balkman, Carter

He pointed on one offer: "Yes, I like that one there!"

Hi, i like your story. I think the most accurate deal would be the real life deal, but you shouldnt do that if you dont like to play with Felton and Chandler

Going to send you an application for the NLSC draft soon.

Waiting for it. (Y) no other NLSC'ers?!

Nuggets close to acquiring Thabeet, Melo on his way out
Sources close to the Denver Nuggets' management report that a deal involving former No. 2 Pick Hasheem Thabeet is very likely to happen in the next hours.
In return, Memphis would recieve some picks and Melvin Ely.
Only some few minor details have to be assured, the source said. Isiah Thomas is said to be very happy about the deal: "Of course, he's a bust. But I like him!"

On the other hand, Carmelo Anthony seems to be done with the Denver Nuggets. A deal with the New York Knicks is said to be close to be finished.

Power over substance: K-Mart tries to hold the ball

Denver Nuggets 89 - 91 San Antonio Spurs

No Carmelo Anthony, no win. The Denver Nuggets had to get used to this experience this friday as the superstar fouled himself out of the game within 5 minutes. After the game, he was clearly fuming: "The ref's stole our win! They called me a foul, even if I moved myself alone." He was fined for about $ 25,000 for his statement afterwards by NBA commissioner David Stern.

In fact, with Carmelo Anthony the Nuggets' would have won this home effort: In his 5 minutes of playing, the Small Forward was recorded for 5 points and 1 rebound, sure impressive for that amount of time. More than anything else, Denver missed it's go-to-guy in the clutch when the game was at it's peak.

On the other side of the court, Denver's interior had many problems in stopping Tim Duncan late in the game. One bucket after another added to his statline and Coach Karl's desperation. Whether bank shots, tip-ins or plain and simple dunk - he was not to be stopped in the last 3 minutes, stepping up 10 points.

For the first time, Al Harrington justified his multi-year-contract in Denver: With Anthony out due to his fouls, Harrington to rise from the ashes and stretched the defense. In the end, he had gathered 21 points and 9 rebounds but also 4 giveaways. "I am content with his performance", George Karl said post-game, "he was shining with Carmelo out on the bench. Without him and Chauncey it wouldn't have been so close. Now we have to forget that first loss, and concentrate on the road game tomorrow in Houston!"

Denver Nuggets:
Al Harrington: 21 P, 9 R, 4 T
Chauncey Billups: 21 P, 11 A, 2 S
Nêne: 8 P, 3 R, 6 S

San Antonio Spurs:
Richard Jefferson: 18 P, 2 R, 2 S
Manu Ginobili: 18 P, 4 R, 3 S
Tim Duncan: 16 P, 8 R, 2 A

Denver Nuggets 72 - 95 Houston Rockets

"I have no answer. This was very devastating, we looked like some AAU team tonight", Nuggets Coach George Karl said in the post-game press conference. "We were out-rebounded, outscored, outplayed - out-everythinged. By any means."

The audience in Houston could see a huge blowout this saturday, as the Denver Nuggets visited the struggling Houston Rockets. What was said to be a "must-win" for the Nuggets, turned out be an impressive performance by the Rockets. In a nice team effort, five players managed to end up with double figures in scoring, led by Kevin Martin with 21 points. "K-Mart", recently involved in many trade rumors, lit up the scoreboard while hitting 9 out of 11 shots from the field, with 1 of 2 from beyond the arc.

Another reason for the Rocket's dominance was the effort under the boards as they managed to pull down 14 rebounds more than the visiting Nuggets. This was stressed by Kenyon Martin's injury deeped in the second quarter who is for approximately 1 or 2 weeks with a strained thigh. Even Carmelo Anthony's efforts couldn't turn this thing around.

"I want to thank this franchise for everything it gave to me - I hope I could return something. Thanks go out also to the city Denver and it's fans, they were wonderful", Carmelo Anthony said after the game. His statement fired off rumors that his trade is going to happen in the next few days.

Denver Nuggets:
Carmelo Anthony: 16 P, 5 R, 2 B
Al Harrington: 12 P, 2 R, 4 T
Chauncey Billups: 9 P, 4 A, 2 T

Houston Rockets:
Kevin Martin: 21 P, 2 S, 9-11 FG
Yao Ming: 18 P, 6 R, 8-8 FT
Luis Scola: 17 P, 9 R, 6-8 FG

Loosing two games and loosing Melo - a tough week, but i think you received enough talent to compete.

osaki, it will take some time to get used to them but meanwhile I'm also looking for some trades, I'm not happy with the team now.

thatwizardguy, in fact 2k11 is not even capable enough for all the trade components - i had to split it and also tweak it a little bit in terms of cap fillers. ^^

I think you made the right decision going with the real Knicks trade. The package you got will serve you well for future seasons and it certainly beats losing Melo for nothing in the offseason. I'm also really digging the style of tying in real brands like Real GM into the story.

Looking good so far, future is bright in Denver.

Grandmama Johnson, thanks. In faxt, I'm damn pissed off by the team, I really need to make some moves. Felton & Lawson unfortunately can't co-exist. I think Ray is going to be traded.
