No, the jump shot is a part of his game. Watching him play a preseason game against my Rockets, he knocked them down with ease.

Yeah Hibbert definitely has worked on an all-around game but his problem is that his mobility is really bad. He has really gotten some decent fundamentals, but I think you can't train to move like Hakeem Olajuwon or David Robinson.
About the blocks ... I really had to tone down my blocking sliders as Sam Dalembert was getting way too many blocks. It seems like the CPU often takes heavily contested jump shots which get block way too easy/often.

Granger Returns To Form But Indiana Crumbles As J Smoove & Hawks Take Flight
• Wednesday November 17, 2010: Conseco Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN

Image

INDIANA (AP) -- In the Indiana Pacers' home opener, they faced off against the Atlanta Hawks, who are surprisingly just 2-3 on the season. After tonight's win, the Hawks are on a three-game winning streak though. It was a six point game at halftime in this match, but Atlanta just laid a beating on the Pacers after that. The final score doesn't make the game look all as bad as it was, as Indiana's reserves were able to get the lead down to 11 points until the Hawk's starters checked back in. The high-flying Josh Smith finished with his usual double-double, consisting of 26 points and 15 rebounds. All-Star Joe Johnson added 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists to help his club's cause. Former Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford poured in 12 points in his starting role tonight, while the newly acquired Jason Maxiell had 8 points and notched 12 rebounds. Young big man Al Horford was a beast on the boards, grabbing 17 rebounds. Check out how each of Indian's players did below in their second loss of the season. The Pacers will continue their home stand next Tuesday, as they'll welcome in the undefeated (2-0) Boston Celtics.

Rough start to the season, but it looks like Hibbert is all-star bound! Crawford's starting for the Hawks in my association too (and averaging like 24 PPG!)

Thanks for commenting guys, and sorry for the lack of updates lately. It's good to see this section picking up some ground though, as I had to go through about half the page to find my story. Hopefully I can get this thing on the right track again with another recap (V.S. Boston) coming up in a few minutes.

Pierce & Garnett Duo Provides Balanced Attack As Celtics Thwart Pacers In Indy
• Tuesday November 23, 2010: Conseco Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN

Image

INDIANA (AP) -- The Pacers are still desperate for a win this season, and they showed it tonight as they rallied to come back from a huge deficit against a highly favored, veteran Celtics ball club, but to only fall short of a win. Boston remains undefeated on the season as they jump to a record of 3-0 after tonight's win, a blowout win over the Portland Trailblazers two weeks ago, and an eight-point win against the Philadelphia 76ers to open up their season. The Celtics were able to show their resilience yet again, as Paul Pierce was a scoring machine, with 28 points on 13-20 shooting. Kevin Garnett was a bit better than his usual self, posting 24 points and 16 rebounds. The other starters, Rondo, Allen, and Perkins, notched 12, 11, and 6 points respectively, while Rondo added 9 assists and Perkins grabbed 7 boards. Newcomer Jarvis Hayes contributed 8 points in 9 minutes off of the bench for Boston, while Shaquille O'Neal was shy in his 28 minutes of playing time, as he had just 5 points along with a steady 8 rebounds. Indiana will have one more chance to grab their first win of the season in front of their home crowd as they'll host the 1-2 Minnesota Timberwolves before hitting the road, playing six of their next seven games away, after that bout which will take place on Thursday. Don't forget to check out how the Pacers did below, as some of their players played pretty impressively in their eleven-point loss.

Thanks guys. (Y) Tyler's a beast in this game when considering he's only rated a 68 overall. He can nock down his shots when open (even threes), and is a good player to have out there because of his ability to stretch the floor. Don't even get me started on his dunking capabilities either. Anyway, T-Wolves are next on the schedule. Don't know if the recap'll be up today, but I'll be working on it in my spare time.

haven't really checked this ( (Y) for clickable sigs) but it's looking pretty decent so far... not a huge fan of Indy ever since their thuggery dispersal and goodie goodguy makeover post-Detroit BRAWL... though i'll always be thankful to them for taking Bumleavy off GS's hands! anyway, keep it up; you've got something goin' here

Nice to see you stop by Clutch. (Y) It's good to know that the clickable sig is having some type of effect. :) Speaking of Dunleavy, it'd be really convenient if I could find a way to get him off my hands right about now, as it's pretty much a mess trying to evenly distribute minutes between him, Paul George, James Posey, and Brandon Rush. Unfortunately, it's been Mike who's suffered the most because of that. He has yet to play any quality or meaningful minutes this season. (N) On a side note, the recap that I said I've been working on will be posted tomorrow.

Pacers Can't Hold On As Love & Timberwolves Grind Out Win In Well Fought, Scrappy Game
• Thursday November 25, 2010: Conseco Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN

Image

INDIANA (AP) -- Disaster struck once again at Conseco Fieldhouse tonight, as this season just seems to keep slipping more and more from Indiana's grasp. They're not in a very comfortable spot at the start of things, as they'll slide to 0-4 after tonight's heartbreaking loss. Minnesota will grab their second win of the season, as they jump to 2-2. After strong development and a gold medal performance for Team USA this offseason, Kevin Love is really shaping into a solid low post threat. He led Minnesota in scoring tonight, with 28 points and an impressive 18 rebounds. Wesley Johnson showed his worthiness of being the fourth overall pick this past draft, as he notched 22 points and 5 rebounds in 38 minutes of play. Former second overall selection Michael Beasley scored 18 points and grabbed 16 boards for his new team, while Jonny Flynn had a mere double-double of 9 points and 9 assists. For the home team, Danny Granger had a chance to send the game into overtime, but his triple missed at the buzzer. The Pacers will visit Blake Griffin and the Clippers for their first game of three straight on the road to kick off the month of December. Take a look at the box score below from Indiana's closest loss of the season.

    Image

Play Of The Game: Kevin Love can't get the up and under move to fall on Indiana's Roy Hibbert,
but rookie Wesley Johnson is in prime position to follow up with a putback slam to give Minnesota
some momentum in a very tight game.

Ouch. Very unfortunate that Granger's three missed. (N) Good game by him though, and Roy Hibbert continues to dominate. Here's to hoping the losing streak doesn't last much longer. :)

Man, you can't win if Hibbert has more assists than Collison!

Hopefully you can step up and get on winning ways soon.

Rough start, especially considering you're Indiana. 2-7 (your box-score gives your current record away) is about 6-20 pro-rata. Story still looks good though man. (Y)

understandable concerns man. what's Dunleavy's contract look like? he's actually not a horrible player but maybe you can swing him elsewhere for an expiring? unless his is up this season and you can cut him free in the off-season nsa

btw, tough L to the Wolves; Flynn/Beasley duo molested you

Thanks for the kind words guys, and hopefully Hibbert can steal the DPOY title from Dwight. :D

Good catch; I didn't even realize that myself. (Y) You guys would have found out sooner than later though because I'll be recapping all of December with two updates, each covering three games. That'll be a quick way to log some much needed progress on this, without me having to do a whole lot of work.

I knew we have a couple of upcoming free agents, but had no idea that Dunleavy was one of them until you brought it up. His contract is actually worth a little more than $10.5M, so I guess it'll be a good idea to have him stick around for the remainder of the season.
