Miami Pregame show
Game 7

Image

With the recently acquired Yao Ming, Houston has become a much stronger opponent. But it's not all about Yao, Houston has other great players too.

Fierce Opponent

Image
Steve Francis (fake smile LOL)

Steve Francis is a quick explosive point guard, one of the league's best. He's off to a great start, averaging 22 ppg. He's very explosive and loves to play above the rim. At only 6'3", Steve Francis is a spectacular dunker.

Image
The Franchise leaped over 7'1" Tyson Chandler earlier this month.

Dwyane Wade is going to have to watch some tapes if he is going to have any chance of beating him.

Image
Francis also dropped 31 points on Chicago that night.

That concludes the pregame show and we'll see you at Game 8.

Houston defends home court

The final score - 95 to 97

Steve Francis dropped 33 points on Miami, but the win was also in large part because of Yao Ming. Together Kelvin Cato and Yao Ming were able to outrebound Miami, giving them more second chances and decreasing Miami's second chances. All the players on Miami played fairly well, with Rasual Butler playing great off the bench. Lamar Odom had an off night, shooting only 33% and scoring 15 points. At one moment in the game Brian Grant was injured and had to sit out to be checked out. His leg was hurt, but he was able to return. Cuttino Mobley was also injured, and the results showed he banged up his elbow, but he also returned to the game. Shortly after the injury, Brian Grant made a 3 pointer to beat the shotclock, only a mere hint at what was to come later. Down 95-97 on the final possession, Dwyane Wade brought the ball up the court, and handed it off the Brian Grant at the 3 point line to start the play. Caught up in the moment, the veteran center shot a 3 pointer, something that came as a surprise to everyone. Brian Grant airballed, the ball went out of bounds, and that sealed up the game.

Image
Yao Ming and Brian Grant grabbed a total of 25 boards.

Player of the Game - Steve Francis

Player of the game Steve Francis talks to reporters after the final horn.

Question 1: How does it feel to have such a great start to the season?

Franchise: It's great. I've been shooting the ball and my shots are falling.

Question 2: Did you have any idea Brian Grant would attempt another 3 pointer?

Franchise: No, I didn't, but when he started to try it, I was happy, because he's just not a 3 point shooter. I guess there's more to his injury then it seems. *points to noggin*

Question 3: How has the team been with the arrival of Yao Ming?

Franchise: It's been great, we hope to make the playoffs this year.

Miami Pregame show
Game 8

Image

After having one of the worst records in the NBA last year, Cleveland is looking to do a lot better this year, and hopefully make the playoffs. This team is led by Z, Booze, and the rookie phenom Lebron James.

Fierce Opponent

Image
Lebron James

Lebron James is only in his rookie year, but he's already proving his stay on Cleveland. He's one of their star players, and he can do it all. He can play many positions, he can shoot from anywhere on the court, and he's also a very unselfish player and a great passer.

Image
James almost achieved a triple double in his first game.

Lebron James is leading Cleveland, and the attendance in the stadium has soared, all because everyone wants to see the rookie out of high school play in the big leagues. Dwyane Wade is expected to play the point, but may also switch onto shooting guard and possibly even defend Lebron James.

Image
Lebron James is the focus of the new Cavaliers.

That concludes the pregame show and we'll see you at Game 9.

Yeah, thanks for the comments, it's tough trying to take a team all the way all by yourself, but things are starting to shape up. I'm trying to limit myself on pictures for the recaps and pregame shows, but at the end of each month I will look into the gigabytes of pics that I have taken and throw a barrage of pics that I've taken for that game month.

I have the recap ready to post, but for some reason I can't open the photobucket web page....

If you can't stand the Heat...

The final score - 106 to 96

Miami took an easy win in this dominating performance. Cleveland shot a decent 43%, but Miami shot a burning hot 53% from the field. Miami believed that Carlos Boozer would give Odom trouble, but it was Booze that had the trouble, only scoring 4 points as opposed to Odom's 26. Caron Butler also had a very explosive game. Eddie Jones didn't have his best night, but he knocked down the occasional bucket to keep the lead strong. Dwyane Wade had another great game, knocking down a clutch shot over Tony Battie, and throwing a perfect ally oop pass to Caron Butler. Miami predicted a tough game, because it mainly rides on Odom's shoulders, but he prevailed, and so did Miami.

Image
Caron Butler slams home the exclamation with 1:31 left to play.

Player of the Game - Dwyane Wade

Player of the game Dwyane Wade talks to reporters after the final horn.

Question 1: What did you predict coming into this game?

Wade: I thought this would be tough, Carlos Boozer is much stronger then Odom, so Odom wasn't aggressive in trying to power him down. He used his speed and ball handling to knock down shots.

Question 2: Caron Butler is proving he is becoming a great player. What do you think about his performance?

Wade: He was great, he was using his power to get to the basket to make those shots. He's a great player, but his 3 point shot is lacking.

Question 3: How was it playing Lebron James?

Wade: He was good, I played against him for a good amount of the game. Whenever he went out, I went out too, whenever he went in, I went in to, and vice versa.

Miami Pregame show
Game 9

Image

Washington is also in a rebuilding phase, but they seem to be farther behind then Miami is. They acquired Jerry Stackhouse, a player who was supposed to bring great success, and Kwame Brown, who has so far not lived up to expectations. Although Stackhouse hasn't been doing what he was expected to do, he is still a solid player.

Fierce Opponent

Image
Jerry Stackhouse

Jerry Stackhouse is a great penetrator, and he somehow is able to get to the line a lot. He can run with tremendous speed, and still shoots a decent 14 point average per game. Caron Butler will have to either keep up with him or try to out power him.

Image
Jerry Stackhouse's shoes must be pretty hot after exploding to the rim.

That concludes the pregame show and we'll see you at Game 10.

Miami takes the game

The final score - 118 to 114

This was a long and grueling game, especially for Caron Butler and Jerry Stackhouse. They both played great games, while several other players made their mark as well. Brian Grant scored a dominating 21 points, while Dwyane Wade posted 24 and Lamar Odom posted 22. Eddie Jones posted 15 points but also an infatic 6 blocks. The leader on the boards was Gilbert Arenas, who's hustle play helped Washington gain 8 offensive boards, but both teams were tied in total rebounds at 41. Miami suffered from more turnovers, but Washington suffered from worse shooting, and Miami was able to close it out.

Both Stack and Butler played over 40 minutes, posting 22 and 24 points respectively.

Player of the Game - Caron Butler

Player of the game Caron Butler talks to reporters after the final horn.

Question 1: What did you think about Stackhouse's performance?

Butler: It was great, he played like he used to, I didn't expect it.

Question 2: Who do you think played better of the two of you?

Butler: That's hard to say, I was uses my power against him and he was just gliding by me, it was even I should say.

Question 3: Do you think the game would have been as close without the great play of Stackhouse?

Butler: Nah, because then I bet Grant would have had a bad game too.

Miami Pregame show
Game 10

Image

The Lakers are known to have one of the best dynasties of all time. It will be tough for Miami to win, especially since they are on the road, and because the Lakers have many stars, such as Kobe Bryant.

Fierce Opponent

Image
Kobe Bryant

This guy can do it all. Kobe can shoot, pass, dribble, and even deliver in the clutch. He's proved many times before that he can make clutch shots, and his top notch free throw shooting is also a reason to go to him late in games. He has an unbreakable will, and can often times take over games in the 3rd quarter, knocking down shot after shot, either bringing the Lakers back in the game or shutting out the other team. Kobe is one tough player to defend.

Image
Kobe Bryant is an incredible player, and will prove tough to stop.

Eddie Jones and the Heat win

The final score - 106 to 98

Miami was able to beat the Los Angeles Lakers in what was first a close game. Both teams had their runs, battling continously, but it was the Lakers that fell first. Lamar Odom was dominating when Malone was out, shooting 63% and grabbing 17 boards. Gary Payton scored 30 points, though at a cost, shooting 32% and attempting 43 field goals. Karl Malone shot a great 71% with a solid 20 points. Kobe Bryant and Eddie Jones were battling throughout the game. Kobe shot a higher percentage, 53%, but Eddie Jones had more points, scoring 22 as opposed to Kobe's 19, and shooting 47%. Jones also had 8 rebounds and 3 assists, as opposed to Kobe's 4 rebounds and single assist. Eddie Jones outplayed Kobe, and if Gary Payton didn't miss so many shots, and if Shaq got the ball more, the Lakers could have very well won the game.

Image
Eddie Jones had 22/8/3 as he played against the team which gave him his start in the NBA.

Player of the Game - Lamar Odom

Player of the game Lamar Odom talks to reporters after the final horn.

Question 1: How easy or how hard was it to defeat the Lakers?

Odom: It was easier then we expected, they just weren't doing the right things.

Question 2: How well did you play against Malone?

Odom: I don't know, I did well. I scored more points but he shot much higher and was still able to grab 11 boards, despite my 17.

Question 3: Do you think Shaq should have gotten the ball more?

Odom: Oh yeah, if Shaq got the ball we would have lost a long time ago.

With the recent departure of Gary Payton, Seattle looked to be falling down in the ranks, but they recieved new players in the trade. One of which is Ray Allen, who hopes to lead Seattle to the playoffs.

Fierce Opponent

Ray Allen

Ray Allen spent his career on the bucks until he was traded to Seattle. He's one of the best shooter in the league. He can also dunk just as well as he can shoot. You can't just pressure him so he forces up shots, because then he can drive and either go all the way or dish it off to a teammate. Eddie Jones will need to play some great defense to keep him in check.

Three (count'em) players turn their attention to Ray Allen.

I've placed myself as PG on the Clippers' team, I play with player lock, I'll tell you it's probably the most fun I've ever had.

I get pretty normals stats, 12-13 points, 8 assists and 4-5 rebounds.

Just making the pass and watching your team-mates make a lay-up, sweetness. I love it.

To me its more fun then 5on5. It's really easy to get realistic scores, and since I'm not in control of everything, it's challenging to win. The close games are really fun. Not being in control of everything kind of makes you wonder what can happen. In an earlier game (vs the spurs I think) Lamar Odom slammed home a putback that sealed the game (gave me a 4 point lead). The great thing about that was my teammate did that, not me. It shows me how good it is to have him on the team. Dwyane Wade gets tons more assists then I would like though, it's something I'm trying to work on.

So far this hasn't been boring for me at all, it's just I've been working on cyberfaces lately and haven't had time to play my games.. :(

Miami tops .500%

The final score - 100 to 96

With this win, Miami has surpassed the .500% win-loss mark, and are hoping to continue to improve in the near future. Miami started off well, leading by as many as 20 points in the 1st quarter, but then it began to fall apart. From the end of the 1st quarter, Rashard Lewis drove his way to 23 points, achieving 68% from the field. Ray Allen was too much for Eddie Jones as he scored 22 points shooting 58%. Eddie Jones didn't have much success, with 38% and 11 points. Lamar Odom was able to fill that void, however, with 28 points. Brian Grant had another one of those great nights of his, scoring 21 points. Dwyane Wade had only 6 points, but had 7 assists, and 3 steals that really helped Miami get on a run to retake control of the game. Miami never fell farther behind then 18, and from there they slowly closed the gap until they were on the winning side of this game.

Image
The game might not have been so close if not for Eddie Jones' off night.

Player of the Game - Lamar Odom

Player of the game Lamar Odom talks to reporters after the final horn.

Question 1: What really let Seattle catch up after the 1st quarter?

Odom: We started missing our shots, and Lewis was tearing it up. We eventually had to play zone, because he was just driving by Caron and scoring easy points.

Question 2: Should EJ and Caron have switched on defense?

Odom: I think they should have. I think Caron could keep Allen in check, but Lewis is a lot taller then Jones, so I wouldn't really know.

Question 3: Would the game have been so close if not for EJ's off night?

Odom: Oh yeah, it wouldn't have been so close, but I filled in for him this time.

Zach Randolph was nothing more then a bench player... until now. He's been explosive this year, averaging much higher numbers then he used to. He's a great scorer and quick on his feet. He saved Portland in an overtime win against Sacramento on the 13th. Odom and Randolph will make for an interesting matchup.

(Cool, that's cool, looks like it works alright.)

Portland's defense wins game

The final score - 103 to 106

Zach Randolph scored 'only' 10 points. Normally that would mean Portland's offensive production would have slowed, but it didn't. A Trail Blazer had a breakout game, and that player was Darius Miles. Scoring 25 points on 9 for 18 shooting, Miles was playing like a well developed veteran. This unexpected performance gave Portland the edge. Dwyane Wade had a fabulous game, playing great man to man defense and getting 7 steals to go with his 22 points and 7 assists. Brian Grant had a solid game, as he carried the team through tough times. Miami fell apart in the 2nd quarter, after not taking Portland seriously anymore, and fell down to a 14 point deficit. Miami never actually had a lead throughout most of the game, it was either tied or they trailed. Their first lead was in the 4th quarter when Caron Butler made a teardrop in the paint. Foul trouble also slowed Miami. Caron Butler was plauged with foul trouble, and eventually fouled out on an intentional out of desperation. Derek Anderson knocked down TWO three pointers in a row to give Portland a five point lead. Lamar Odom scored after getting an offensive rebound, but it was too late. Miami let this game slip away.

Player of the Game - Damon Stoudemire

Player of the game Damon Stoudemire talks to reporters after the final horn.

Question 1: Dwyane Wade had a fabulous game. How hard was it with him defending you?

Stoudemire: It was tough, I already watched some tapes of him, and I've never seen him like this. He was stripping the ball so many times, I couldnt' believe it.

Question 2: How would the game have went if Z-BO hadn't had an off night?

Stoudemire: It would have been easier to win. With Randolph scoring and D-Miles breaking out, it would have been an easy win.

Question 3: If you were in charge of choosing the player of the game who would you choose?

Stoudemire: Definitely Wade. He played more minutes then me and he also did a lot better.

Miami Pregame show
Game 13

Image

Although Golden State isn't the most feared opponent, they certainly do have a lot of talent. Jason Richardson is a very explosive, young player, and can usually always get it done offensively.

Fierce Opponent

Image
Jason Richardson

Having already won the slam dunk contest two times in a row, Jason Richardson has already proved to many that he is a very explosive dunker. If you don't keep him in check, you'll blink you eyes and see his head above the rim. Eddie Jones may be too old to keep up with him, and Caron Butler may be sent to guard him.
