I would suggest getting Lewis at SF or Bender (change from PF to SF)...size rules.
Sun Apr 11, 2004 5:38 pm
Yeah i still got Hedo, but Tayshun can handle himself alright. If i face up agaisnt a tall SF i just play Dirk there and start Kwame.
My only MVP Candidate is Wade

he is averaging 19.9ppg 56% 6.9rpg 2.6spg and 10.0apg, but his assists are dropping a little.
Im sitting first in the east and second in the league, cant remember behind who.
BTW thanks for the feedback and nice words.
Mon Apr 12, 2004 11:35 am
Wade's playing really well. Are you aiming for ROY?
Mon Apr 12, 2004 4:51 pm
Well he is looking like the front-runner, but i don't know yet, maybe MVP is more in my eyes lol
Nah ROY wud do jst fine, i was very supprised to find him in the MVP candidates.
Mon Apr 12, 2004 7:08 pm
I'd say if he wins the MVP award, his numbers should be good enough for him to be named ROY too.

Cleveland Cavs (5-3) @ Boston Celtics (6-2)
This match up was set to be yet another scoring focused game, both team coming in with an arsenal of scoring and atletic talent. The big match ups were thought to be C-Webb vs Dirk Nowitski (An Athletic big man with great passing abilities vs a superb shooter) and Gilbert Arenas vs Dwyane Wade (Both explosive, quick players) also eyes were on the hot shooting Michael Redd and poor shooting (35%) Quentin Richardson.

C:Eddy Curry
G:Michael Redd -C
G:Dwyane Wade
Cavs
F:James Posey
F:Chris Webber
C:Mark Blount
G:Quentin Richardson
G:Gilber Arenas
The first quarter started with a fizzel, the Cavs shooting a high percentage but getting less shots and the Celts shooting a low percentage and shooting loads. C-Webb was owing Dirk in the post so the double team had to be called. At the end of the first the Cavs were leading 22-20.
The second quarter saw the Cavs have a strong run at the start jumping out to a 10 point lead but, during the alst 3 minutes Dirk went on a rampage hitting 4/4 and 2/2 from beyond the arc.
Half Time 46-46
The third saw the most amazing quarter by the Celtics scoring a season high 42 points while the Cavs could only manage 23. Michael Redd was on fire contantly finding himself open and draining the 3, while Tyrone Lue was crashing the boards and playing the passing lanes well, filling in for a TO troubled Wade. At the end of 3 the Celts were up 88-69.
The Fourth quarter saw the Celts bring on the bench to finish it off, Gilbert had 3 runaway dunks in a row and the Cavs were contantly trying to run the court and shorten the lead, but it was a helpless fight.

Interview with Cleveland Coach Paul Silas
Press -"You had a tough loss here in boston tonight, what do you think you lost on?"
Silas -"Well at half time i tried to seem confident in the changing room, but it was hard, since it was close i knew chances were the game was gone for us. I like to think of the Celts as the old Bulls with MJ, they kill teams in the 3rd then coast the fourth"
Press -"A very good observation, what about Wade's game, you must have come in being weary of him, since hes having such a stellar rookie season"
Silas -"Yeah well I told Gilbert that he had to step up his D tonight, even at the cost of his offense. But there was not much need, Dwyane was a Rookie tonight, not a super star, but you look at his stats for the game and he still did a great job, people need to remember that Wade, just like Lebron and Carmelo are rookies and you cant expect them to be consistant every night."
Press -"You must be dissapointed you didnt get a excellent rookie this season, since you were going to be getting Lebron if not for the re-draft"
Silas -"Yeah its was a dissapointment, but look at the team i got, tonight didnt show how good we are, we have a lot of talent"
Press -"Thanks Paul, good luck for the season"

Celtics Trade Curry!!
Boston-
Today it was announced by the Celtics management that Center Eddy Curry had been traded away. The trade saw Curry sent to D.C. for versitile foward Johnathon Bender. When asked why this trade as put through Celtics GM Match_66 replied, "Mainly because of the emergence of Kwame Brown, who has fought well for a starting spot, also we get Bender who is a great foward who can be efeective starting or off the bench. I think this trade will work well for Eddy, he will be able to take a much larger role in Washington and get more playing time.
Bender will be coming off the bench or starting at foward along with Dirk Nowitski.

This game looked to be the hardest yet for the Celtics. The New York Kincks brought a very talented front court to the game, backed up by a top ranked back court. Look for the front courts of both teams to battle it out down low.
The first quarter was a slow affair with the Knicks looking to dominate, but the Celtics managed to tag along, and in the final minutes went on a nice little run to close out the first quarter 32-25 in front.
The second quarter the Celtics build up a nice lead behind a 15 point quarter effort from Bender. The Knicks then tried to mount a comeback but Boston managed to withstand the offensive onslaught and come out on top at half time
Half Time Score: 63-52 Celtics Lead
The third quarter saw the whole game go to stew with both teams playing defense like a Junior High team, and the offense was not much better just mainly fast breaks. Antwan Jamison was strong for the Knicks during this quarter. At 3rd quarter time the score was 93-89 in favour of the Celts.
The fourth was another pathetic attempt at quality basktball, once more just a fast break contest, the Celtics began to falter near the end allowing the Knicks back into the game but they managed to hang on for the win.
End Score 122-117

Whoa, alot has happened since I've been away. The trade was alright, for starters I'd have to say. Was Bender the only option, and could there have been maybe a 3 team deal?? Im only asking.
Anyway, good to see that you're on the winning path again mate. Dwyane and Dirk. Has a nice ring to it doesn't it?? Those two are unstoppable, it's like a Stockton and Malone thing except the whole colour thing, black and white, is the other way around. Anyway, those two make a great trio. I'm really looking foward to your next post. Any ideas for future trades, or will we have to wait and see??
Great work Match, keep it up mate.
Macca
P.S. My dynasty, really needs some voice, its more empty than George W. Bush himself....hiao!!
Sun Apr 18, 2004 1:26 pm
let me start off by saying that i love your team...it's awesome and sounds like you're having lots of fun with your dynasty.
match_66 wrote:You rekon Miller yould be good at the two??
I know it's too late but that's a big NO. I know, as Andrew said, Miller plays some 2 when Boykins comes in, but that's only out of necessity...Miller is a pure 1 with limited range and a bad shot...even when he does play the "2" (it's really more like 2 point guards than a point and a shooting guard), he gets the ball, either drives or does the pick and roll with a big man. I just want to mention that Wade is much more of a 2 than Miller is...Wade plays more 2 than Miller does, as Alston frequently comes in and plays the point. Wade only plays a few minutes at the 1, where it's clear he's a 2, not a 1. I just wanted to point that out to you...although it doesn't matter since, this is NBA Live

.
That's a really interesting trade you made (the Curry-Bender one). Personally I've never liked Bender and I prefer to keep a pure center, but hey, we're all different. Love the Redd pickup though...gives your team range and another potent offensive scorer who plays good defense. Nice dynasty so far, you're doing well, so keep it up!
Sun Apr 18, 2004 8:05 pm
i would never ever start andre at the 2 position. he is a solid 1 man.
Sun Apr 18, 2004 8:16 pm
Thanks for the feedback guys.
On the Bender trade, it was really spur-of-the moment aye. Curry was not playing that well and Brown was performing muhc better on the boards, which is what i wanted out of my starting center, Plus Bender is gonna be a great 6th man, cos he can play 4 of the 5 positions, maybe even the 1 if im in heaps of trouble
Anyway, ive been away so ill play a game tomorrow.

In the previous match up between these two teams the Celtics came out victorious playing away at New Orleans. Dwyane Wade was very effective scoring 33 points, to prove his point that he can match up against stellar guards like Payton. Look for Wade to once again have a strong game while Payton will hope to put on a good show to keep up his end.
The game started out as most Boston home games have seemed to this season, Boston running lots of set for the first 6 minutes. But at the 5 minute mark the Celtics swithced to a full court press, which worked incredibly puching them out on a 15-2 run to finish the quarter ahead 29-16. Kwame Brown was out muscling Divac racking up 8 boards.
The second quarter saw Boston play some extremely good defense, mainly done by the bench players especially Johnathon Bender who had 3 blocks in the quarter. On the offenseive end Bender was on show aas well, playing really we under the hoop. The Celtics managed to hold the Hornets to just 14 points in the second quarter.
Halftime Score: 63-30 Boston Lead
Johnathon Bender having to adjust one of is second quarter baskets due to some good D from Divac. - Bender made the shot.
The Third quater saw a better quarter from the Hornets who were only out scored by the Celtics by 7 points. Tayshun Prince had a strong quarter, while he was accompanied by Redd who had 24 points by the end of the 3rd. Lue had racked up 9 asts by this time.
Prince soaring in for two of his 13 points.
The fourth quarter was nothing but a crowd pleaser, both teams slacking off on defense and showing the crowds, some good family fun action

. Although at the start of the fourth the Hornets tried a comeback but to no avail, and admitted defeat.
Final Score: 123-76 Boston Win

Ok i just lost this whole post because of the whole couldnt find server thing
So i played two games won both one home agaisnt Philli and one away against New York. Redd has played well in both and Dirk broke his scoring drought. Wade is still playing like an All- Star 19ppg 54%fg 6rpg 3spg 9.5apg.
Im Looking to do a trade to get some more rebounding, Kwame is not bad, but Dirk aint that good and Bender and Mccarty aint either, its mainly my guards that do the work.
I will trade Prince, Bender (Reluctantly), Bell, Mccarty or the last 5 players on my roster. If anyone has a really good idea, maybe even Dirk, cso his role hsa dropped a lot wiht the emergance of Wade and play of Redd.
any ideas id love.

The team tipped to be the best vs the team that is the best so far. Boston came into this game as the most hyped up team this season, while Orlando has been recieving hype for the opposite reasons. Orlando was ment to trash all comers this season, haveing the first pic in the draft and a good balance of talent and leadership, yet they havent performed. While Boston on the other hand has opened many eyes, shooting out to a league best record and turning into a strong team from some excellent trading by GM Match_66. This game was set to explode.
The first quarter was a dissapointment for the fans as both teams quietly ran their sets and played a slow game. T-Mac was quiet for the Magic who were getting good production from Maggete. The Celtics played rather average on offense but thier defense helped them to a 21-15 lead at the end of the first.
The second saw another closely fought quarter with Brown playing very solid, going at Coleman 100%, he ended the half with 15p and 7rebs. Once again it was the Boston defense that helped them out to take a 45-41 halftime lead.
Halftime Score: 45-41 Celtics
The third was much the same as the rest of the game, nice and slow, but the Magic fans began to chant for some action. But it was the Celtics that provided going on a 8 point fast break run, including 2 alley oops by Wade to Redd and Brown. The Celtics closed out the third 70-60.
The fourth quarter saw a huge collapse from the Celtics that you would only expect to see from a high school team. The Magic lived up to their name going on a shooting spree and speeding past the Celtics to a 5 point lead with 2 minutes left 83-78. The Celtics knuckled down to pull it within one point with 15 seconds left, but the clutch shot from Michael Redd was off giving the Magic the win.

TRADE!!
It was announced today by the Boston Management that F Tayshun Price and F Marcus Haslip had been traded for C Michael Olowakandi.
Thu Apr 29, 2004 8:08 pm
Good trade.

Are you planning to start Curry or the Kandi Man?
Fri Apr 30, 2004 2:45 pm
intresting trade. dont u already have e-curry?
Fri Apr 30, 2004 3:36 pm
Nah wont be starting Curry, cos i traded him earlier for Bender, bit of a throw away, but Eddy jst wasnt working dat well for me and Kwame was playing really well.
My new Starting Line-up will be:
C: Kandi
PF: Kwame
SF:Dirk
SG: Redd
PG: Wade
I might try Wade at 6th man occasionly though andplay Lue at PG, since Lue has been pretty impressive at the point. Alternativley i could Bench either Kandy or Kwame and play Redd at SF and move Dirk back to PF, if the opponents SF is rather small or unskilled.
