Finally it all comes together for the Magic!!!
Magic win thier first game, snap 7 game losing streak...
Memphis Grizzlies (5-2) @ Orlando Magic (0-7)
Pre-Game Newswire:
Havin beaten some very respectable teams of late the Grizzlies come into this one with a heap of confidence, whilst on the other end of the scale the Magic are still trying to find that winning formula. Bubba Wells has been brilliant of late for the Grizzlies as has the likes of Williams and Gasol, they also have the dangerous Posey who doesnt mind a 3 every now and then. The Magic have been getting alot out of Damon Stoudamire who is comin off fresh from a 35 pt effort last night. All they really need now is for TMAC too really fire and then the results will come.
Result: Memphis 102 @ Orlando 105
Recap:
Magic made many mistakes early giving the Grizzlies a big start, they once lead 25-17, but the Magic were able to level at 25 apiece to end the first. Lorenzo Wright proving a big woory for the Magic, offencive rebounds were coming at will for him.
Grizzlies got a break in the second, plenty of fast breaks giving them some breathing space, for some reason everytime i missed a shot, a fast break would occur for them. TMAC and Damon kept quiet for the Magic, Grizz lead 54-43 at the break. Wright 14pts, 11rebs. 3 players tied on 8 pts for the Magic.
Very even quarter, nothing much, a bunch of free throws from each team, TMAC gets into foul trouble, he has 5 to his name by the end of the third. Stevenson plays most of the 3rd and cashes in, hitting several nice jumpers. Grizzlies lead 83-73.
Magic trailed the entire quarter here, untril there was about 2.14 secs left. When Damon hit a huge three, to put the Magic up 102-100. Tmac was fouled out here(a huge last quarter effort from him), Stevenson came on and hit another 3 to end the game, and give the Magic its first win for the season. Magic win 105-102.

Nuggets too hot to handle for Magic!!!
Nuggets hand the Magic a lesson....
Orlando Magic (1-7) @ Denver Nuggets (7-1)
Pre-Game Newswire:
With a new look line-up, tonight we will see a young and upcoming side in the Denver Nuggets taking on one of the league strugglers in the Orlando Magic. Melo Anthony and the Nugg's have been the talk of the league so far, leading the NBA with a 7-1 record. TMAC and his Magic sit not so pretty, dead last on the table to be right on the money. Lenard and Camby have also been the backbone of a determined Nuggets roster. Look for Damon and Darius to step it up tonight in a bid to record the Magic's second win for the season.
Result: Orlando 105 @ Denver 112
Recap:
The Magic's defence started off poorly here giving the Nugg's a 14-3 run to start off the game. In this space of time Melo hits 12 of those. Nugg's continue their marry little way to end the quarter with a 34-21 lead.
Magic hit back here, great defence pressure by Miles and Hunter allows the Magic to take a nice 53-49 lead going into the last half. An incredible 31-14 rebound count at halftime in favour of the Magic, stamping its authority on the game. TMAc had 14pts, Melo 12pts.
Nuggets manage to pull back the lead here, lead changing over several times. Damon stepped up for the Magic here, but it was Lenard who stole the show hitting a couple of big three's in the dieing stages of the quarter to give the homeside the advantage going into the last. Nuggets lead 82-77.
Scores were close through out the last term, however the Nuggets manage to pull away by hitting big three's and defending the Magic into the ground here. Camby and Melo were brilliant here, getting the boards and making the Magic pay by scoring consistantly. Nuggets win 112-105.

Maggette eats Spaghetti and MagicBalls!!!
Maggette rips up the Magic...
Orlando Magic (1-8) @ LA Clippers (1-4)
Pre-Game Newswire:
Two teams that seem to be struggling, or two teams that are just waiting in the wings for something special to happen, you decide. The LA Clippers have an abundance of talent whilst the Magic have flava and pace. Both teams have the ingrediants to be successful but for some reason it just aint working! Expect to see Brand, Maggette and Jaric to fire for the Clips. Whilst look out for Hunter and Gooden to have big games for the Magic in the defencive end.
Result: Orlando 135 @ LA Clippers 138 OT
Recap:
Kenyon Dooling shone for the Clips in the first quarter off the bench with 5 assists and a steal, which led to his team(Clips) leading 25-22 at the first break. Nothing much lese happened here.
Corey Maggette and Damon Stoudamire stole the show from their respective teams in this period both going on a scoring spree, however the Clips managed to hold out their lead just, leading 51-50 at the main break. Maggette had 20 and Stouds had 17pts for the Magic.
Eddie House and the cheating bug combined in the third as the Clips hit everything, House had 9pts, all 3's. TMAc went 0/8 in the quarter. The Clips built a handy lead of 15pts going into the last. 85-70.
Magic cam back hard here, as they nailed there fair share of bull shit shots. Magic were up by 1 with 34 seconds left on the clock when Chris Kaman somehow hit a 3 to put the Clips up by one. Stev Hunter found his way to the basket though with an easy layup to tie the game and send it into overtime. At 112 apiece.
Game again shitted me as i got Damon open for the 3, (138-135) with 4.6 secs left on the clock i shot but somehow and i really mean somehow Chris Kaman blocked me, it was either goal tending or a load of shit one of them, but yeh the Clips got the win and the Magic werent happy. Clips win 138-135.

Lottery Picks on GM Redenbach's mind???
Magic fail again as questions are raised...
Orlando Magic (1-9) @ Utah Jazz (2-8)
Pre-Game Newswire:
After completing a minor trade recently the Jazz acquired Gorden Giricek from the Magic, whilst Deshawn Stevenson was acquired from the Jazz. There is a little battle taking place tonight to see who has the worst record in the league, the two bottom teams face off in slug fight. Who will get out on top, only time will tell, the Jazz will be without its star Andrei Kirilenko tonight, he will be missing with a sore knee. Whilst the Magic will be looking to get pts from the bench tonight, the Jazz will be looking for Giricek to rack em up against his former team.
Result: Orlando 89 @ Utah 102
Recap:
Games started off with a 9-1 run by the Jazz, Although Magic fought back, Drew Gooden on fire for the Magic in the 1st term with 7pts, 6rebs. McCoy stung the Magic off the bench here with 2 late FG's. Jazz lead
27-24.
Gorden Giricek and Matt Harpring both former Magic players seemed like the only thing holding the Magi back here, both scoring with ease, whilst the Magic were on top in every stat catergory except the score board. Jazz lead 51-45. Giricek 15pts, TMAC 11pts.
Magic finnally got their game together, lifting the FG's % but so did the Jazz as the game got close TMAC, Gooden and Stoud's starred whilst the Ex- Magic players were starring for the Jazz. Also Mccoy off the bench had a major factor here. Game tied 71-71.
Magic played there worst quarter of the season to date, missing 15 shots in succession. The Jazz capitalised here and broke away, the game was over with about 4 mins to go. Too many shots just werent going in, TMAC shot terrible in the last, whilst Harpring shot everything. Jazz win 102-89.

Can this team actually play, didnt see it coming!
Magic take a turn and actually win a game...
Orlando Magic (1-10) @ Phoenix Suns (5-5)
Pre-Game Newswire:
In a game that is shaped as nothing much as a training run for the Suns, the Magic actually come into this one with much to be keen about, with recent defeats against lower teams, Magic Gm Redenbach tipped a better performance tonight in the hope of getting a win. Watch for Amare and Marion to shine for the Suns in the big man department, expect to see Hunter and Gooden getting solid minutes tonight to cover those guys.
Result: Orlando 103 @ Phoenix 99
Recap:
Suns start off with a 18-4 run, Magic were then able to hit back hard with a 10-0 of their own. In a low scoring contest in the first the Suns were able to hold their lead 23-21.
The game intensity pickeed up here with both teams defending well, but some late big shots by either team raised the score a little. TMAC and Damon brilliant in the offensive catergory for the Magic whilst Joe Johnson proving dangerous with 23 first half pts. Stouds led the Magic with 10. Suns lead 53-51.
Game kept close here again the rebounds were adding up. Amare Stoudamire makin 3 blks in this quarter for the Suns. Magic missed nine consecutive shots here, as the Suns still only had a small lead 74-72.
Take a bow Darius Miles and TMAC both grabbing crucial rebounds (offensive) and nailing crucial shots in critical situations in the last term. Johnson wasnt able to score here as TMAC owned him, blocking him several times in the dieing seconds. Magic win 103-99.

Two in a row as TMAC goes solo!
Magic hit form patch with surprising win over Kings...
Orlando Magic (2-10) @ Sacramanto Kings (8-3)
Pre-Game Newswire:
Nothing against the Magic here, but if you look at these two sides on paper you would no doubt say that the Kings are way more valuable and talented here. So for the Magic to win this one it would have to take a mighty effort, TMAc would have to fire Hunter would have to own Divac, Webber kept very quiet and Damon passing off more dishes then my dishwasher. All in all, Bibby, C-Webb and Peja will be a huge task for the Magic, expect big games from the Magic's bench tonight.
Result: Orlando 107 @ Sacramanto 104
Steven Hunter grabs another board as he powers to the hoop...Brad Miller is caught hobbiling as the Magic dominate offensively...
Recap:
Kings hit several big trays to open up the first, C Webb and Peja both combine to give the Kings a handy 34-26 first quarter lead. Magic left helpless as Webb goes for 13pts, Whilst Tmac gets 12 for the Magic.
Rod strickland hits a 28-foot jumper on the buzzer t give the Magic a 59-58 halftime lead. Hunter and Godden both holding down Divac and Webber in the term. TMAC 22pts, Webber 13pts.
Game is tied at 79 apiece to end the third, great defence from both teams here, Stoudamire and Bibby dueling out a great battle. Whilst The big fellow's Hunter and Divac make light work of each other, scoring several easy baskets each.
Magic led the entire last term, led by TMAC they proved everyone wrong, that this team maybe an outsider for a playoff berth. Finally things came together as they hit several crucial shots. Deshawn, Rod Strick and Pachulia played major last quarter rolls whilst the stars were rested. Magic win 107-104.

Pacers to strong for the Magic...
Indiana Pacers (7-5) @ Orlando Magic (3-10)
Pre-Game Newswire:
In what's turning out to be an interesting season for the Orlando Magic, tonight they must face one of the leagues best defensive teams in the Indiana Pacers, led by the highly talented Jermaine O'Neal and Mr defense himself Ron Artest, the Magic must make the most of their shots tonight. TMAC, Darius Miles and Drew Gooden will all be out to make their presence felt on the offensive side of things tonight.
Result: Indiana 105 @ Orlando 98
Recap:
Al Harrington came in off the bench and nailed 6 first quarter pts to leave the Magic stunned after ift held at one stage a 19-11 lead. Ending the quarter trailing 25-23, coach Johnny Davis was forced to swap TMAc into the 3 position, and Darius Miles into the 2 postion.
Drew Gooden went down in the second term with 5.46 left on the clock. Magic were left to give Sean Rooks and Zaur Pachulia more time on the court, much to the dislike of Magic fans who were gettign annoyed with several easy shots missed by the Magic big men. Game close still though, Pacers leading 53-51 at the break. TMAC 11pts, O'Neal 14pts.
Nothing much happened here in the third, other then finding out that Gooden would sit the entire game out with a sore knee. Harrington nailed some more crucial shots whilst Rod Strick played his heart out here. Pacers lead 76-71.
Pacers led thorughout, not missing much here in the last. Reggie and Al Harrington supurb, whilst Miles and Hunter made some major plays which almost won the Magic the game, but Pacers would not budge on the FT's goin 22/25 in the match. Pacers win 105-98.

Absolute Magic!!!!!
Magic score an invaluable in...
Boston Celtics (4-9) @ Orlando Magic (3-11)
Pre-Game Newswire:
They say the East is weak right..well when the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics are down the bottom half of the East then that means it certainly is struggling. Both teams have enormous talent just waiting to jump out of the blocks. So why are they playing like they are. Is it teh players or is it the coaches?? But tonight however sees a new chapter unfold in these two teams quest to make it to the playoffs. Both struggling, but a win might just open up the door for either team.
Result: Boston 108 @ Orlando 112
Recap:
Paul Piece was in early foul trouble for the Celts and was forced to sit most of the first term on the bench.Mark Blount shoen for the Celts here grabbing a huge, 8 first quarter rebounds. Magic were held up brilliantly defensively going for 7/27 from the field. Boston led 22-15.
Drew Gooden blocked McCarty then Mihm in the space of 3 seconds to give the second quarter some much needed spice. He had 3 blocks in the quarter. Tmac hit back hard form the 3 pt line but McCarty also was able to make a few 3's. Celts lead 53-51. TMAc 15pts, McCarty 12pts.
Another Basket for TMac, he only went on the score 45...
Quiet quarter here Celtics go up 75-72. lots of three's again Lindsay Hunter the old guy remember him well he went on to go for 13pts in the third, great effort for the Celts playa.
Magic pulled out all its guns in the last to get them home, they took the lead early in the 4th and never looked back. TMAC on fire as usual, though not much help scoring wise but great efforts were there as well. Magic win 112-108.

Fri Apr 30, 2004 11:44 pm
yeh TMAC is starting to get some good games coming together, thats why im starting to win. Steve Hunter is on the rise man, he is playing better then any centre in the league at the moment i think, he's ranked up there in rebounds and blocked shots so he is doing fine...
Lol you would have thought Paul Pierce would have scored 40 odd points in that game but only come up with 5... Linsay Hunter came up big as did Walter McCarty.
More Updates on their way...

Patchy Form continues!
Magic continue their wayward form...
Toronto Raptors (4-10) @ Orlando Magic (4-11)
Pre-Game Newswire:
To say the least, these two teams are very underated. Both have unhealthy rosters, but still manage to test the good teams. So tonight its a battle of pure mentality. Led by Vince and young Rookie Chris Bosh the Raps pose a very big test for the ever improving Magic outfit. If TMAC and Vince fire as they have been of late, then this match would be one that no one should miss. Magic actually expected to win one for a change here.
Result: Toronto 114 @ Orlando 104
Recap:
Led by Alvin Williams the Raptors broke out of the blocks, dishing out 6 first quarter assists and nailing a couple of baskets he proved to hot to handle for the Magic. Raps lead 27-24.
All so close as the much anticipated shoot out between Vince and TMAC began. Tmac hits a 3, 15 seconds later Vince hits one. Surprisingly Jalen Rose led the Raps scoring at the half with 13pts, as TMAC had 15 for the Magic. Raps still lead 50-47.
Darius Miles flies for the Magic, with the slam of the day.
The Raptors begin to stamp their orthority on the game, with Williams, Rose and Vince all in great form. The Magic defence were left pondering as the Raps scortched with a 9-1 run to end the third. Raps lead 82-73.
High scoring last quarter for both teams, with 6 three pointers nailed in this period of time, 4 to the Magic and a couple to the Raps. Free throw shooting was a delite to watch from the Raps in the dieing minutes as it cancelled out any chance of a Magic win. Williams finishing with 16 assists for the game. Raps win 114-104.

After a 94-93 victory over the Magic early on in the season, the Hornets are right up there with the top East teams, whilst the Magic are right down the bottom. The Hornets have won 8 out of their last 10, including a current 5 game winning streak. Led by Baron and Jamael Mashburn the Hornets pose a dangerous line-up, which will give guys like TMAc, Miles and Hunter big problems. Expect a close battle however cos these Magic players will fight right to the end.

Magic Season Update:
An indepth look at the Magic's performance so far this season....
Magic Signing.
Today it was confirmed that the Orlando Magic have signed Centre Cherokee Parks to the minimum. The reason behind this was to give big guys Drew Gooden and Steven Hunter some much needed back-up, with Sean Rooks and Zaur Pachulia already giving support, Parks will move into a back-up role and maybe in the long run Magic will be forced to release a big guy, thats if Parks can do his job defensively.
Magic GM Redenbach had this to say
"Look he's a great pick-up for us, how long he will here i dont know, hopefully for a long time but hes here on a performance based contract so he will have to perform or he will be gone. Personally i think he is going to be apart of the Magic future. I think he will help out Steven (Hunter) and Drew (Gooden) alot, if he can come on and get some boards amybe set up a play or two in the process then his job would be done for the night."
Magic's Newest player Cherokee Parks.

Standings:
The Orlando Magic are ranked last in their conference and are ranked 3rd last overall in the league, with only the Toronto Raptors and the Utah Jazz below them. Coincidentally the Magic have suffered early season defeats to those teams.
Personal Glory:
TOP: Drew Gooden is the number one ranked player in the defensive rebounds catergory with exactly 100 defensive rebounds, he is 2 clear of Detroits Ben Wallace.
MIDDLE: Tracy McGrady is the number ranked player on the MVP candidates catergory as well as being the current league leading scorer with 28.6ppg.
BOTTOM: Steven Hunter is widely tipped to be the MIP player in the league this season going on ealry seasaon form. He has been rewarded by being ranked number 2 in the blocked shots catergory with 2.9 a game. Sitting on top is Ratliff with 3.1 a game.

TMAC was on fire hitting 45pts, whilst Damon Stoudamire proved vital hitting 24pts to go with his 12 assists. Jamael Mashburn's outside shooting is the Magic's major worry as the vetern continues his career best form. "He's been nailing everything from the outside against us we will have to work on that" said Magic player Darius Miles. Watch for Jamel Magloire and Steven Hunter battling it out for the boards.
