OKC THUNDER SCOUTING REPORT

Team Roster

PG: Russell Westbrook, Reggie Jackson, Eric Maynor
SG: Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, Thabo Sefolosha
SF: Kevin Durant, Deshaun Thomas
PF: Serge Ibaka, Perry Jones, Nick Collison
C: Kendrick Perkins, Hasheem Thabeet

===================================================

Thunder, the 2nd strongest team in the league right now, after having played 6 games. Their record is currently at 6-0, putting them at #1 in their division and at #1 in their conference.

This team just can't be beaten offensively. One of the strongest in the league in all aspects.

Top scoring team, one of the top 5 in field goal efficiency. (#2 in FG%: 0.488 - #2 in FGeff: 18.22)
You'll need to always have an eye on the perimeter. They can turn a game around with their 3 pointers. They score well, they score a lot. (#4 in 3P%: 0.402 - #3 in 3Peff: 3.01)
They tend to attack the lanes hard, getting to the line and making the most of it. They're one of the best teams in the league at it. (#5 in FT%: 0.789 - #1 in FTeff: 20.64)
They know how to find the open man, and they get their offense going by getting it around the perimeter until a clean shot is there. (#8 in APG: 21.3)

One of the better defensive teams out there, limiting their opponents to low scores night in, night out. (#6 in PAPG: 91.7)

Sensational rebounding team, everybody jumps for the ball, no missed shot is left loose. (#4 in RPG: 46.8, #26 in ORPG: 10.3, #1 in DRPG: 36.5)

Get that thing outta here! Great blocking team, they turn the lights off on any mismatched jumper or drive; sometimes even when you least expect it. (#22 in SPG: 6.0, #1 in BPG: 5.2)
Clumsy team to say the least. They're not careful with the ball, and they foul too much. Keep your eyes open and play hard. (#29 in TPG: 13.3, #28 in FPG: 15.2)

In summary, their best areas are free throws (#1, 26.2 per game on 0.789), defensive rebounds (#1, 36.5), blocks (#1, 5.2), scoring (#2, 108.3), field goals (#2, 37.3 per game on 0.488).

I don't like it either! That's two games in a row. He's now averaging 5.2 assists, I'll have to talk to him about that...

The Spurs will really be kicking themselves after that one. It was neck and neck until the 4th quarter. And I just noticed Kawhi Leonard got injured... With him and Timmy out the next few weeks look pretty bleak for the Spurs. :(

Shout out to rookie Steven Adams, who managed to get 4 boards (2 offensive) and 3 blocks in 12 minutes. He... also only made one bucket and picked up 3 fouls. Keep at it Adams!

Game 12: New York Knicks @ Seattle SuperSonics

November 21, 2013

Seattle SuperSonics

Brandon Jennings | Trevor Ariza | Tyreke Evans | John Henson | Thomas Robinson

Result:

New York Knicks end Seattle's 5 game home streak in rout

Image
Seattle suffered from turn-overs, and their lack of size and depth (mainly thanks to injuries) was exposed when Thomas Robinson fouled out in the 3rd quarter.
The Sonics' bench wasn't able to make up the loss, and stellar performances by Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith put the nail in the coffin.

November 21, Jason Ford ready to play

Postby Pitar on Sat Feb 16, 2013 6:47 pm

Jason Ford (bruised sternum) ready to play

November 21st, 2013

Image

After a week off the court since his injury last week against Portland, Jason Ford says he feels ready to return to the court. With both Tiago Splitter (strained MCL) and Ford off the court the SuperSonics have gone 3-3; with the two both playing the team carried an impressive 5-1 opening record. Splitter is still expected to be side-lined for another week or two, but the team will be more than happy to welcome their #6 pick back into the line-up.

Ford hasn't been able to make an impact on the offensive side of the game as of yet (3.5 ppg on 18.8 min), but has been obtaining rebounds at the fastest rate on the team (6.7 rpg, 12.6 rebounds per 36min). The 22 year old centre possesses a calm, professional attitude that belies his youth, but don't let his demeanour fool you into thinking he doesn't possess the drive to make it at the next level. The organisation has been thoroughly impressed by the work ethic of this young man.
