Two Seperate Deals Close to Getting Done
According to many sources, the Dallas Mavericks are going to send Jason Terry and Jason Kidd to the Detroit Pistons for Rip Hamilton, Chris Wilcox and a draft pick. The pick is the thing that's holding up the deal. The Mavs want a 2012 first rounder, but the Pistons only want to surrender a second rounder for this year.
The Mavs want to make this move to get younger, so youngster Rodrique Beaubois is expected to start.
The Pistons are making this move to get better, and make a push for the playoffs, even though they are far away from the playoffs.
In another trade, the Minnesota Timberwolves are planning to send Nikola Pekovic to the Wizards for Alonzo Gee in a minor trade.

Chapter 1: Is Superman English?
Timothy Goodson took it at the face of George Koukoulis and dunked it. He and Pops Mensah-Bonsu were on fire, and with the Brits up 84-82 with 13 seconds left, there was nothing stopping them.
"Timeout." said the Greek coach, upset with is team blowing a 10 point lead.
"Give it to George," he said in Greek. "Don't screw up, especially you Sofo." He said to a shocked Sofoklis Schortsanis. "Greece on 3." The team then broke the huddle, ready to tie the game.
On the other side, Rio Grande Valley Vipers coach Chris Finch was happy, "Look, we we;re major underdogs, now we're winning. Seal this game with tight defense. Defense on 3." Goodson broke the huddle, locking eyes with Koukoulis. "Hey punk," said Goodson. "Ready for an ass kickin'?"
George knew what he said, but didn't respond. He took the ball with 13 seconds left and passed it to Sofo. Sofo then found a wide-open Koukoulis, who had a knockdown three in his grasp. As he got set to take the game winning shot, a flying figure came out of nowhere.
"What the hell?" he yelled, as a flying Andrew Sullivan came out of nowhere and forced George into a travel. The Greece supporters moaned, and began to leave the arena. As George fouled Goodson, the two exchanged some trash talking.
"Nice travel." said Goodson.
"Screw off." said Koukoulis.
Goodson nailed the two free throws, and with no timeouts left, George gave the ball to Sofo and as he missed a Hook Shot, the Britain bench began to shout, "Choke! Choke!"
The buzzer had sounded. Great Britain had just pulled off an amazing upset. George left the court, without shaking any hands. He was upset. He had no help. His league numbers were staggering. "Hey," he thought. "At least the NBA has supporters. Next year, I'll be out of year."
Goodson on the other hand, decided to hold a press conference to talk about his future.
"First off, I would like to thank the Mersey Tigers for the wonderful opportunity I had with them. They gave me a shot when no one else did, so they will always be in my heart. Liverpool is my home, and playing for my hometown team means a lot. However, the National Basketball Association has called my name. The league is amazing. I can not pass up this opportunity. I am going to enter the 2011 NBA Draft."
David Kahn screamed for joy. Doug Collins high-fived Ed Stefanski. Every NBA team knew that this kid could change their team forever.
At his weekly press conference, Willie Lewis answered the first question about Timothy Goodson with a bang.
"Do you think you can get Timothy Goodson?" asked a reporter.
"We don't need him. Jerryd and Jose are just amazing. Not sure he can be as great." said Lewis "No more Goodson questions. Next."
That gave Jerryd Bayless the confidence he needed to step up his game.

The Orlando Magic's new crew led them to a 8-0 start.
Toronto didn't know that.
The Raptors upsetted the undefeated Magic, clipping them by 1.
"They played a great game," said Stan van Gundy. "Our mistake was choking. We were cocky when we had a 10 point lead, and after we blew it, we couldn't come back."
The comeback effort, was led by the big man off the bench, the rookie, Ed Davis. Davis, who didn't know he had 21 points at the end of the 3rd quarter, was put on Dwight Howard after Andrea Bargnani picked up his 4th foul. Davis then led the comeback effort, fueling the team with 28 points and 6 rebounds.
"When Coach [Jay] Triano told me I was covering Dwight, I was pumped. I was excited to face off against the big fella."
However, Davis was not alone. Swingman DeMar DeRozan burned the Magic on fast breaks, with 25 points and 6 assists, three of the assists coming to Sonny Weems on alley-hoops. "He was feeding me the ball on fast breaks, like we were in the dunk contest." joked a happy Weems. He had 4 points and 7 rebounds.
But in quarters 1-3, Amir Johnson seemed to be the hero. Triano put him on Howard, and he shut him down. Johnson himself had 15 points and 7 rebounds.
"You see, Andrea comes from Europe, where they play finesse, and not physicality. But my God, he couldn't cover Dwight to save his life. We gotta work on that." said Coach Triano.
The Magic started off fast, led by Jason Richardson, the newly acquired swingman from Phoenix. He had 26 points on mainly open three pointers.
The Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson combo had a total of 32 points, 14 assists, and 16 rebounds. However, Jameer didn't heat up till the fourth quarter, where he started nailing threes.
With Nelson's three's and with 6.1 seconds left, Gilbert Arenas was given the ball to try to save the Magic from losing their first game. Arenas beat out Jerryd Bayless but was forced to fadeaway after DeRozan's help defense. It hit the front iron, and the Magic lost. Arenas had 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
"I have to nail that. I can't miss game winning shots." he said after the loss.

He already got posterized a couple of times in his career , and once real nasty.
Great pic though.

The Heat had been struggling. Maybe LeBron needed to step up his game.
He did.
LeBron James led the Miami Heat to victory, scoring 42 points, as the Heat beat the Raptors.
"Sometimes, you gotta lead a team. If Dwayne and Chris are getting stuck, I have to take over." he said after the game.
The Raptors looked like a team ready to win, up by 11 in the 3rd, and then they collapsed. LeBron and his crew took over, and they turned around a game that looked hopeless, into a win.
"LeBron saved us." said Chris Bosh, who had 18 points and 12 boards.
All Toronto could do is watch as LeBron nailed unreal threes in the faces of Jerryd Bayless and DeMar DeRozan, back to back.
"Damn insane. We had hands up in his face, and he still nailed them. That's what a real star does." said DeRozan, who had a quiet 20 points and 6 rebounds.
"LeBron is a true baller. He balls till the final whistle." said Jay Triano.
Sonny Weems was not impressed though.
"I'm upset. We had the game, and we blew it. But of course, Queen James gets away with everything. Shoving, elbows, everything. Gotta love the refs protecting the Queens of the NBA." said a frustrated Weems, who was upended in the first by Bosh and was awarded a technical for arguing the call.
"That wasn't a flagrant? Then what is a flagrant? A freaking concussion?"
Raptors
Sonny Weems: 21 points, 9 rebounds
DeMar DeRozan: 20 points, 6 reboudns, 6 assists

Otoo ejected in first loss of the seasona against Kentucky
Zee Otoo, star forward from NC State, was ejected in NC State's first loss to Kentucky, 77-66. The Wolfpack had been 12-0, but choked in the 2nd half, allowing Kentucky to pull away from their 2 point lead. Otoo was ejected after he argued a call.
"The guy tackled me, and they didn't even call a foul." said Otoo, who was explaining his case for arguing. He also had 18 points and 4 rebounds.
Kentuckty was led by Brandon Knight, who had 24 points and 9 assists. Terrence Jones also had 24 points.
The Wildcats now improve their winning streak to 14 games.
UCLA in Turmoil
After what seemed to be a picture perfect start, the UCLA Bruins are falling into a downward spiral.
After starting out 7-0, the Bruins have dropped 5 straight, dropping them out of the Top 25, and causing frustration between teammates.
Coach Ben Howland made the change after the 4th loss and put Valdis Iesalnieks as the starter. Many people were shocked, but Iesalnieks proved that he could start, scoring 13 points in the loss. Julian Martin did even better, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds off the bench.
"Doesn't matter if I'm a starter," said a pumped Martin. "As long as I do better than Valdis in the minutes I play, I feel good."
Duke still undefeated
The Duke Blue Devils are still undefeated, going 13-0 in their first 13 games.
Star Nolan Smith said that this was expected.
"Listen, we won the national championship last year, and you think this is suprising? Earnest and Carl have been doing good, kicking butt for us. Seth is getting all the assists, and the rest of us are helping out."
In a 84-56 win over UAB, Smith had 23, Carl Cruise had 19, and Slamdunk Earnest had a quiet 12.
Koukoulis given opt out clause
Star guard George Koukoulis was finally given his opt-out clause, in what has been a Melo-esque situation.
Koukoulis, who was frustrated by the lack of cooperation from Olympiakos, was finally rewarded after 18 games worth of wait. In that span, Olympiacos has surged, going 15-3.
"Thanks to Olympiacos, I can go off to the NBA." said an excited Koukoulis.
He averages 22.8 points per game, and 4.5 assists.
Mike Perchard, SEC Player of the Week
Senior guard Mike Perchard was named SEC Player of the Week after 2 unbelievable games.
Perchard scored 32 against the Fordham Rams, then 40 against Georgia Southern, who had started out 10-1.
"Gotta thank my teammates for feeding me the ball, and for providing support. God bless Florida." said an ecstatic Perchard.
