Another huge update! (Y)

Played against the Timberwolfs (credits to Leo Kap (Y))... Won!

Rasheed: 14 pts, 8 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal
Duncan: 26 pts (13/14 FG), 11 boards, 1 assist, 2 blocks (POG)
Davis: 17 pts (6/17 FG), 6 boards, 10 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Woods: 17 pts, 2 boards, 7 assists, 1 block, 2 steals
James: 21 pts, 1 board, 8 assists

For Minnesota:

Terrell Brandon: 21 pts (4/17 FG), 1 board, 9 assists
Wally World: 15 pts, 1 board, 1 assist
Joe Smith: 13 pts, 5 boards, 3 blocks
Felipe Lopez: 11 pts, 1 board, 1 assist, 2 steals
Marc Jackson: 11 pts, 8 boards, 1 block, 2 steals
Kevin Garnett: 8 pts, 1 board, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 block (in 26 mins... major disappointment)

Now, played the Bucks... Easy win... Though they have a rookie frontcourt who will kick some ass in future seasons...

Rasheed: 24 pts, 11 boards, 1 assist, 2 block, 2 steals
Duncan: 26 pts, 9 boards, 3 assists, 1 block
Davis: 9 pts (4/11 FG), 4 boards, 8 assists, 1 steal
Woods: 8 pts, 2 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal
James: 25 pts, 8 boards (6 offensive!), 8 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks, 6 turnovers (POG)

For Milwaukee...

Gary Payton: 22 pts, 2 boards, 9 assists, 1 steal
Desmond Mason: 20 pts, 3 boards, 9 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Tim Thomas: 10 pts, 2 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, 3 steals
Erwin Oak (CPU generated rookie Center): 13 pts, 4 boards, 1 assist, 1 block, 3 steal... (like Curry of Chicago, very good on O)
Andrew Barnes: (CPU generated rookie PF): 9 pts, 7 boards, 1 assist, 3 blocks, 4 steals... (like Chandler of Chicago, very good on D)

Played against the Suns, too... One of the most entertaining teams... They added a very good rookie... who went on the win ROY for the season, and had the 2nd best performance a rookie had against me... That Knicks rookie is still unbeatable... And I lost the game to 1 or 2 points, can't remember exactly.

Rasheed: 14 pts, 7 boards, 1 assist, 4 turnovers
Duncan: 26 pts, 7 boards, 2 steals
Davis: 20 pts, 8 boards, 9 assists, 1 steal, 0 turnovers (POG, dunno why)
Woods: 11 pts, 1 board, 2 assists
James: 20 pts, 6 boards, 10 assists, 2 blocks

For the Suns...

Kareem Cato: 33 pts (16/22 FG), 1 board, 3 assists, 1 block, 4 turnovers (plays like a mix of Allen Iverson/Ray Allen)
Shawn Marion: 28 pts, 1 board, 1 assist, 1 steal
Stephon Marbury: 10 pts (3/12 FG), 2 boards, 13 assists, 1 steal
Amare: 5 pts, 8 boards, 1 block, 2 steals (Yay Nick!)

Now, Atlanta... Very difficult game... Very high scoring... They just couldn't miss... But I kept with my strategy... Lebron with the ball and all... Won in the end.

Rasheed: 26 pts (13/14 FG), 5 boards, 2 assists, 1 block
Duncan: 37 pts (17/20 FG), 11 boards, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 turnover
Davis: 16 pts, 1 board, 9 assist, 1 block, 5 turnovers... played more like a PG this game.
Woods: 6 pts, 3 boards, 8 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal
James: 42 pts (17/23 FG, 8/13 FT), 2 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, 8 turnovers (POG)

For Atlanta...

Jason Terry: 42 pts, 3 boards, 12 assists, 3 turnovers
DerMarr Johnson: 36 pts, 3 boards, 1 steal
Nick Ellis (CPU generated SF): 14 pts, 1 board, 2 assists, 3 steals
Dan Dickau: 11 pts, 5 assists
Theo Ratliff: 8 pts, 5 boards, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 steals
Shareef Loser-Rahim: 8 pts, 3 boards, 2 steals
Glenn Robinson: 4 pts, 1 steal (he's on the bench!)

Last game of the season... Against the powerful & unstoppable Miami Heat... I lost!

Rasheed: 23 pts, 4 boards, 1 block, 1 steal
Duncan: 27 pts, 10 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal
Davis: 26 pts, 6 boards, 11 assists, 4 steals
Woods: 9 pts, 3 boards, 5 assists, 1 block
James: 27 pts, 0 boards, 11 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal

For The Mighty Miami...

Zo Mourning: 22 pts, 13 boards, 1 block (first pts/boards double-double a CPU player ever done on me, if I'm not mistaken! WOW! Realistic! (Y))
Travis Best: 20 pts, 18 assists, 1 steal (POG... what else can you say when a player is responsible for 60 pts of his team...?)
Jamal Clark (CPU generated SF, very good): 19 pts, 7 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 3 steals, 8 turnovers... kinda like that Odom guy
Eddie Jones: 18 pts, 3 boards, 5 assists, 1 block
Caron Butler: 16 pts, 1 board, 1 assist (off the bench... Jamal Clark starts)
Tom Gugliotta: 15 pts, 3 boards, 1 assist, 2 steals (yeah, he's back!)

I'll save my final player's stats, season awards and playoff seeds for next post... Till later guys, stay tuned! (Y)

Well, couldn't resist the urge to go on... I will post the stats & final playoff results later...

Heading into offseason I managed to resign Duncan and dump everybody else from my bench, only kep Dajuan Wagner after his very good playoff showing (18 pts, 6 assists - ?)... Didn't resign Kerr, Ferry, Boozer, Mihm, etc...

As I said, I kept Duncan, and got a rookie SF, dunno his name. Also got - AHEM! - Jamal Crawford, Marcus Camby and Gordan Giricek on the FA pool...

Now my team lineup is as it follows...

Rasheed Wallace
Tim Duncan
Ricky Davis
Dajuan Wagner (dunno what to do with him... not that I don't like him, it's that his rating dropped from a 67 to 59... he's not any good)
LeBron James

Bench:

DeSagana Diop
Marcus Camby
Gordan Giricek
Qyntel Woods
Jamal Crawford

IR:

Pete Byers (CPU generated ex-rookie PG)
CPU SF rook

What do you guys think of my team roster now? Opinions, suggestions welcome (Y)

cos wagner wud prob be more effective off the bench... All you need to make the bench stronger is another big man

Can you post everyones ratings now. I think you should release waggy because theres no point for a guy rated 59 to start. Put jamal crawford or woods at sg.

Well, as I promised, here's another update... Now we will focus on the end of the 2nd season final stats for my team, and the awards... Also, the playoffs seeds, the lone playoff game I played (I lost, hence that), and the offseason moves...

Final season stats:

Cleveland Cavaliers: 19-9 (10-4 at home, 9-5 away... I won GM of the year for this; best record, also).

Dunno Player

Final season awards:

MVP: Allen Iverson, Philadelphia: 32.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 5.4 apg, 2.6 spg, 38,3% FG
MIP: Rasual Butler, Miami: 6.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 40,2 % FG (heh)
6th man: Jamie Feick, New Jersey: 3.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg (silly game... Feick wins a lot this award)
DPOY: Ben Wallace, San Antonio: 10.1 ppg, 18 rpg, 2.3 apg, 3.6 bpg, 1.6 spg
ROY: Kareem Cato, Phoenix: 22.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.7 apg, 50 % FG, 68 3pt made in a 28 game season

All-Defensive team: Ratliff, Big Ben, Artest, Iverson & LeBron (Y)
All-Rookie team: Cato (SG, Suns), Barnes (PF, Bucks), Sadler (SG, Knicks), Rogers (C, Jazz) & Parker (PF, Magic)... see previous posts to notice how they perform against me...

Playoffs seedings:

East:

(1) Cleveland vs. (8) Orlando
(4) New Orleans vs. (5) Atlanta
(3) Detroit vs. (6) Boston
(2) New Jersey vs. (7) Toronto

West:

(1) Utah vs. (8) Phoenix
(4) Denver vs. (5) Minnesota
(3) Memphis vs. (6) Dallas
(2) Lakers vs. (7) Golden State

So, I played against Orlando... Lost in a double overtime thriller... Whitney is the X-Factor... (N)

Rasheed: 17 pts, 8 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block
Duncan: 27 pts, 13 boards, 3 assists, 7 blocks, 3 steals, 5 turnovers
Davis: 27 pts, 2 boards, 9 assists, 4 turnovers

James: 38 pts (1/10 3pt FG), 4 boards, 8 assists, 6 blocks, 5 steals, 12 turnovers... tried too much

Wagner: 21 pts, 3 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals... in 24 mins
others: not so much...

For the Mighty Magic...

Tracy McGrady: 41 pts (20/24 FG), 2 boards, 1 block, 3 turnovers
Chris Whitney: 31 pts, 3 boards, 25 (!) assists, 2 steals, 9 turnovers... (POG)
Grant Hill: 22 pts, 5 boards, 2 assists, 6 blocks, 3 steals
Jason Parker: 14 pts, 17 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 5 steals
Gordon Giricek: 10 pts, 1 assist, 1 steal

Who advanced:

East: Orlando, New Orleans, Detroit and Toronto
West: Utah, Minnesota, Memphis and the Lakers

Who advanced:

East: New Orleans and Detroit
West: Utah and Memphis

NBA Finals... Utah vs. New Orleans

NBA Champion: Utah ((N) for realism...)

Finals MVP: Matt Harpring (Jazz): 22.7 pg, 7.1 rpg, 1.1 apg

Jazz starting five:

Lou Rogers (C): 18 ppg, 6 rpg (rookie)
Curtis Borchardt (PF): 13.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.0 bpg
Matt Harpring (SF): see above
Bob Young (SG): 3.3 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.1 spg
Raul Lopez: 4.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg

Also: Andrei Kirilenko, Scott Midgett, Jarron Collins, John Amaechi (him!), Greg Ostertag, Calbert Cheaney, and DeShawn Stevenson... what a ballclub!

Goin' into offseason...

Could have resigned the following players... Carlos Boozer, Tim Duncan, Danny Ferry, Steve Kerr, Chris Mihm and Mehmet Okur... Only resigned Duncan, (Y)... got rid of my awful bench.

Drafted SF Walbert Cheaney with the 29th pick... He's 6'8'', 211 lbs... Forfeited the 2nd round pick.

Got 3 players on the free agents pool: Jamal Crawford, Gordan Giricek and Marcus "Iron" Camby... (He's in NBA Live World, so he won't get injured)

My roster now is the following:

Rasheed Wallace
Tim Duncan
Ricky Davis
DaJuan Wagner (gave him another chance after playoff showing)
LeBron James

Bench: DeSagana Diop, Marcus Camby, Gordan Giricek, Qyntel Woods, Jamal Crawford.
IR: Walbert Cheaney and Pete Byers (last year's rook)

So now I'm on my 3rd season... Played a game, too... Against Minnesota... Here are the stats:

Rasheed: 18 pts, 5 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal
Duncan: 18 pts, 11 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals
Davis: 15 pts, 5 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals
Wagner: 0 pts (0/8 FG), 27 mins, 2 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, 0 turnovers... His ratings went from 65 to 62 to now 59... He's just slow-assed to go to...
James: 29 pts (4/9 3pt FG), 3 boards, 10 assists, 1 block, 2 steals, 5 turnovers

Bench (hehe):

Diop: 1 steal, 1 assist (great all-around game)
Camby: 6 pts, 3 boards
Giricek: 3 pts, 1 steal
Woods: 3 pts, 1 steal, 2 assists
Crawford: 14 pts (in 8 mins), 1 board, 1 assist, 4 fouls

For the Wolfs...

Kevin Garnett: 37 pts (15/22 FG), 7 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover (POG)
Wally Sckzekakjlaksdj9w: 30 pts, 4 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals
Terrell Brandon: 9 pts, 5 assists
Troy Hudson: 4 pts (2/12 FG), 18 assists
Joe Smith & Marc Jackson: 6 pts and 7 boards each...

As expected due to his ratings' drop, Wagner didn't play well... He lacks the speed, though his shootin' is ok I guess... It's that Minnesota had one of those rookie generated players guarding him... You know what I'm talking about... The velcro hands... So I kept the ball away from Wagner as much as I could...

Next post, I'll try to play a game with what Nick suggested... By heart, I know Duncan is 80, Wallace 77, Davis 65, Dajuan 59, LeBron 73... Camby and Giricek 69, Woods 70, Crawford 71 (I think)... Dunno about Diop.

That's all people.. Hope you enjoyed the post... Later... (Y)

I played another game, decided to try Nick's idea for a lineup... Here what I got...

I faced Orlando... My nemesis... They got all a "tweaked franchise" can ask for... A "great" PG in Whitney, two greats forwards in McGrady and Hill, and at least a rookie frontcourt player... It's impossible to beat them.

My stats:

Rasheed: 17 pts, 7 boards, 8 assists, 2 blocks, 5 steals
Duncan: 27 pts, 6 boards, 1 assist, 4 blocks
James (SF): 29 pts (4/10 3pt FG), 7 boards, 7 assists, 1 steal, 4 turnovers
Davis: 15 mins, 0 pts (0/1 FG), 1 board, 2 assists... Same like Wagner last game... There is something about my SG spot I can't figure... More on that later...
Crawford: 30 pts, 4 assists, 6 steals... weak D, though

Bench... Nobody did any good, specially Giricek... who has a very limited range, the exact opposite of what I was looking for him.

For Orlando...

McGrady: 44 pts (20/29 FG), 2 boards, 2 assists (POG)
Jason Parker: 16 pts, 10 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal
Steven Hunter: 11 pts, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal
Grant Hill: 10 pts, 6 boards, 4 steals, 3 blocks
Chris Whitney: 9 pts, 24 assists, 5 turnovers

Now I had this idea of playing with 3 big forwards in my frountcourt... Here's what I did...

Released DeSagana Diop and DaJuan Wagner... Bye bye so long amigos. (N)

Signed Nick Van Exel and Vitaly Potapenko (he's rated at 68!!!) on the FA pool...

Did 2 trades...

1: Sent Rasheed Wallace, Ricky Davis and Gordan Giricek to Sacramento. Got Chris Webber, Vlade Divac and Hedo Turkoglu

2: Sent Qyntel Woods and Marcus Camby to the Pacers... Got Jermaine O'Neal and Fred Jones!

Now my roster is the following:

Jermaine O'Neal (73)
Tim Duncan (80)
Chris Webber (78)
LeBron James (73)
Nick Van Exel (68)

Vlade Divac (64)
Vitaly Potapenko (68)
Hedo Turkoglu (65)
Fred Jones (62)
Jamal Crawford (69)
Pete Byers (66) (IL)
Whitman Cheaney (65) (IL)

Let the season begin...

You have 3 star Power Forwards, O'Neal is too skinny for C, and Webber abilites are better off used at PF. LeBron isn't a slasher.

But... Since its' NBA Live...

Great team! :D 3 stars...one future star (well, he is becoming one quite nicely) and an experienced PG to lead the offense. (Y)

You should edit your players ratings a little bit. Doesnt seem too realistic( I know NBA Live isnt realistic either). Jermaine O'Neal-73 after 3 seasons in your franchise? Hmmm.

Anyway-Good job holding T-Mac under 50,60,70+. Especially in 2 OT.

Yes you are (Y)

Anyways I wasn't happy with Webber's rebounding so I did two trades:

Webber & Divac for Carter & J. Williams

J. Williams & Nick Van Exel for Jason Williams & Cezary Tribasnky (spl)

The way I see my lineup now:

Jermaine
Duncan
LeBron
Carter
Crawford (or White Chocolate)

Thoughts, please...

Pretty good trade. Now you can shuffle the lineup to a big team or a regular. Say:
C-Duncan(or JO)
PF-JO(or duncan)
SF-Ricky Davis---Or how about Jerome! Big Lineup
SG-Carter
PG-Lebron

Now thats a big lineup. You can have lots of defensive power. Or you can keep Jamal Crawford since he is a pretty big PG. It doesnt really matter. Good Move though.
