LOS ANGELES, CA -- The 2008 Seattle Supersonics have had their first true test of the season, and they stood up to adversity and came out victorious. The Lakers played a dominant offensive game the whole game, but they failed to come up with stops in the 4th quarter to close the game. Up eleven points heading into the 4th, the Lakers proceeded to coast and the Sonics would have none of this. They gained composure and hit bucket after bucket, tying the game and eventually winning the game in overtime. The lack of Kevin Durant in the lineup hampered Seattle once again, but other players stepped up to contribute. This included rookie point-guard Conrad Burry who elevated his game to score 20 points (3 triples in the 4th Q) and 4 key rebounds. Just as the last game showed, veteran Chris Wilcox lead his team to the victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Also, big-man Francisco Elson stepped up again with a crucial 15 points in the 4th quarter to net 19 for the game. The weak inside defense of the Sonics allowed both Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum to score 20 points apiece and both grab 10 rebounds. For the game, the Lakers shot 57%, while the Sonics only shot 47%, but Seattle was the aggressor of the game, going to the charity stripe 12 more times than the Lakers and nailing a stunning 26 of 27 free throws.
Jing had an awsome night off the bench. So Saarela is the only starter right now? You´re doing great job with the Sonics right now, although I have a question: Why is C.Burry always twice in your boxscores(always with same amount of assists, minutes etc)?
