Hmmmm.......... 3 weeks......long time...... seems like ages doesnt it?
So try and do something to kill that time.
Start a franchise... 56 games, 8 min quarters, fantasy draft.
Pick your favourite team. Get the No.1 lottery.
Now use your top pick to draft Walter McCarty. (dont start flaming me yet, it's quite interesting.....)
Now when yr 2nd round pick comes up, sort the picks by rating.
Now go down to the bottom.
Pick the 11 worst rated players.
The superstar of your team will be McCarty. You'll shoot , score, rebound , pass etc with him. Thats quite cool. You'll get him the MVP award. But thats not the best thing. The best thing is that with 11 59 rated players the game will be pretty damn difficult, + no more dribble dribble dunk scoring.... You'll get one of you underrated guys to win the most improved award, and hey if you get the championship, post a screenshot of McCarty as the Finals MVP

How about trying to stay under the cap limit for 5 years with one team, and actually signing a freeagent out of the fa pool for more than the minimum.

I've tried to fill in the time by playing a Franchise, but my anticipation of Live 2004 has extinguished my enthusiasm for NBA Live 2003. All I do with Live 2003 these days is update the roster.
