Nikolaev is playing very well and is surprising me with quite an ability to block - I mean he's tied with Dalembert who is a shot blocking superstar. I hope to figure out his 3 point shooting soon, but he can hit a shot with a man in his face from 15 feet out and can knock down open jumper 23 feet away with ease.

Recap November 11 - November 17

Snapshot
3 road victories to bring the Sixers to .500.
Iguodala regains last year's form.
Korver hitting timely three-pointers.
Two games come down to final seconds.

(1-4) Philadelphia 93 | (2-3) Utah 89
Player of the Game: Andre Iguodala12 PTS (5-18 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1-1 FT), 10 REB (3 OFF), 7 AST, 3 STL, 1 BLK
Jazz of the Game: Andrei Kirilenko14 PTS (4-15 FG, 1-5 3PT, 5-7 FT), 8 REB (2 OFF), 7 AST, 2 STL

November 12- Utah was playing on thin ice for the fourth quarter with Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer each owners of 5 personal fouls; unlike the 76ers, who benched a foul-laden Samuel Dalembert, the Jazz stuck with their big men and fortunately neither one of them collected their sixth. Momentum shifted back and forth and the fourth quarter was no different, with Utah holding a slim 2 point lead to begin. The Jazz quickly racked up points in spite of the strong defensive pressure by Philadelphia, mostly off of three-pointers. With 3 minutes to play, Dalembert picked up his sixth foul and headed for the locker room with the game at an 84-84 impass. Minutes later, Kyle Korver hit a game-tying three pointer and Declan Parker stripped Deron Williams and then ran it back for the easy lay-in to give the Sixers a 91-89 lead. Parker hit two free throws with 12 seconds to play to put the game on ice. Utah's starters played very well, with Boozer and Okur each recording double-doubles, while Williams added 19 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. In spite of playing only 28 minutes, Dalembert ended the game with 18 point and 11 rebounds; though he lacked a clear defensive presence, Benedict Nikolaev had 4 blocked shots to accompany his 16 points. Parker finished with 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals, 4 of which came in the final quarter, in which Utah turned the ball over 11 times.

(2-4) Philadelphia 96 | (4-4) Chicago 95
Player of the Game: Andre Iguodala 25 PTS (9-18FG, 1-4 3PT, 6-7 FT), 8 REB (5 OFF), 4 AST, 2 STL, 1 BLK
Bull of the Game: Kirk Hinrich24 PTS (9-16 FG, 2-4 3PT, 4-5 FT), 4 REB (2 OFF), 7 AST, 3 STL

November 14- The game came down to the buzzer, but the Sixers left the crowd reeling in defeat. The fourth quarter saw repeated lead changes but the first significant lead came on a Ben Gordon field goal, giving the Bulls an 88-81 lead with under 5 minutes to play. The Sixers wasted no time, bringing in the, as of late, hot-shooting Kyle Korver who, a few possessions later, hit a three-pointer to cut Chicago's lead to 5. The final two minutes were intense, as the first minute saw numerous squandered opportunities and the minute of scorelessness ended after Ben Wallace's second missed free throw in as many attempts landed in Iguodala's hands and then he tore down the court, ending up hanging from the rim. The Bulls had a couple of chances to stretch their lead, with Tyrus Thomas rebounding a missed Hinrich lay-up, but Samuel Dalembert was there for the huge and timely rejection, which led to a Declan Parker finger roll. With the lead back to 3 on a Gordon lay-up, Benedict Nikolaev, a reliable free throw shooter, was fouled but missed his second attempt with just under 25 seconds to play. Ben Wallace was sent to the line, where he missed both free throws and upon Dalembert coming down with the rebound, Philadelphia signalled for a timeout with 11 seconds on the clock and on the wrong side of a 95-93 score. The ball was inbounded to Parker who, in an exemplary illustration of his IQ, found Korver off a screen, alone beyond the three-point arc; sufficed to say he connected, but with 3 seconds on the clock. The halfcourt inbounds pass was given the Thomas on the low block, but his attempt at the buzzer from the baseline hit the rim and rolled over the front edge. Dalembert missed out on a double-double for just the second time this young season, finishing with just 5 points and 9 rebounds compared to his opposing centre, Wallace, who commanded the boards, pulling down 18 to accompany his 12 points and 4 steals. Luol Deng returned from an injury to post 11 points, while tempted defector Andres Nocioni had 14 points and 8 rebounds before he left the game in deep foul trouble. While the victors were led by Iguodala's 25 points, Parker posted 15 points and 5 assists. This was the first game the bench was a solid contributor, with Korver hitting the two key treys to finish with 10 points, while rookie Adrian Cedric had his best game yet, finishing with 12 points, including 2 three-pointers, 3 assists and two steals.

(3-4) Philadelphia 100 | (2-5) Atlanta 90
Player of the Game: Benedict Nikolaev25 PTS (10-19 FG, 5-6 FT), 10 REB (3 OFF), 5 AST, 2 STL, 3 BLK
Hawk of the Game: Marvin Williams 23 PTS (10-24 FG, 3-4 FT), 11 REB (6 OFF), 3 AST, 1 BLK

November 16- Joe Johnson went off for 13 points in the final quarter, but Andre Iguodala's 9 along with the contributions of his teammates led the 76ers to a victory over a hungry Atlanta team. The Hawks cut the Sixer lead, and, in fact, overtook them on a 13-4 run to start the quarter, capped by a Johnson lay-up, taking advantage of a foul-laden Samuel Dalembert. With Anderson Varejao unable to hold off Shelden Williams in the post, the replacement for the fouled-out Zaza Pachulia, Shavlik Randolph made a fourth quarter appearance for the first time since the second game of the season. Perhaps led by Randolph's tenacity, the 76ers mounted an 8-1 run including three-pointers by Kyle Korver and Andre Iguodala. Each Atlanta basket was met by Sixer one until Declan Parker was fouled and hit a pair of free throws to make the score 96-88 and then again hit his foul shots to make it a 10-point differential. Nikolaev did most of his damage earlier in the game, but added a pair of rebounds, assists and steals in the final frame. Andre Iguodala was 4-of-8 in the last 12 minutes, totalling 18 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. While unimpressive in the grand scheme of things, Randolph finished with 6 points, 5 rebounds and a steal, reminding coach Maurice Cheeks that his role as a workhorse pays dividends. Joe Johnson dropped 21 points along with 5 assists, but found little assistance from his wingman Josh Smith, who was limited to just 3 points. The two big men on the Hawks' bench, Paul Millsap and Shelden Williams, combined for 10 points and 13 rebounds, including 6 offensive rebounds by Williams.

Statistics for the two week period:
Samuel Dalembert 10.7 PTS (45% FG, 60% FT), 11.7 REB (3.3 OFF), 1.0 AST, 2.0 STL, 1.0 BLK, 2.7 TO

Thanks for the post Diddy. Again, Nikolaev had a great week, but that one game with 8 turnovers is unacceptable; and he still has not hit a three-pointer...as for the name, shall we say is of a mixed descent, born in Russia and playing in their system, but perhaps the first name was given by the non-Russian parent. In any event, if he spurns me after 4 years, the headline will read "Benedict Arnold".

Looking very good so far. I really like the presentation. As for the graphics - they are a good way to make your recaps more interesting but a lot of people use too many pictures and that makes it worse imo. I remember Andrew's Bulls dynasty, he rarely had pictures but it was a good dynasty because it was entertaining to read.
As for the solution to your problems with graphics I can only advise you to check if you have the latest video card drivers.
Keep up the good work!

I shall try to keep the recaps interesting and make that the draw. Updates will come soon, so stick around.

So quick issue, hope someone can help out with a suggestion. My assistants just finished training and when I go to reassign them, the game shuts down as soon as I hit the Assistant page. I can go to Trainer, Assistant Head Coach and Scout, but I cannot access the assistants any more. I'm worried that this will somehow end my dynasty. Can anyone offer some advice as to what I can do to fix this, be it edit a file or something else I haven't thought of? Could it have something to do with the fact that I have 3 assistants, though it wasn't until this time (I did initial assignments at the beginning of the season, and now everyone is finishing up with their charges)? Anything constructive would be helpful.

Man, sucks about your problem with assistants. I don't think it's because you have 3 coaches, I think it's because you edited some stuff through dbf and probably made the mistake somewhere.

But it's a very nice dynasty. I like the way you wrote about offseason (Y)

I'm surprised the dbf editing I did caused a problem so late in the season.
The major trades were done through dbf editing at the beginning of the season and I haven't done any editing since, except switching Duncan to primarily a centre and Morris Peterson to primarily a SG. There is a new problem now, as the game freezes when on the 30th of November Orlando and Atlanta play. I have not edited their teams and it is always on that game.

It is reading as a codebase error in the workingdb/players.dbf Error code -70 and then it gives 91102 as another code. I don't know what either mean, but unless I can fix these, this dynasty is kaput, ending with the 76ers as a 7-7 team...I hope it isn't the end though...

If this one does have to come to an unfotunate close, I'm going to move on to another team and likely pick it up later in the season again. I'm thinking Orlando, Utah, Atlanta, Toronto, Sacramento or Boston.
