How did it all start?

In August 1 2010,Nadav Cohen,assistant coach of Maccabi tel aviv got a phone from his friend andrew from USA.

Andrew: I have a suprise for you my friend.
Nadav: What are you talking about?
Andrew: You remember that I told you that I have connection with the board of the Nuggets?
Nadav: Yeah,so?
Andrew: So I talked with them about the coach job for the next season,and I told them that you are the perfect man for this job.
Nadav: What?!,Really?,and what did they said?
Andrew: They said that they will consider it and they will give you an answer after little talk with the correct coach.
Nadav: Oh man,I don't know if it's for real but if it is real I will thank you so much.
Andrew: No problem dude,just stay cool and i'm pretty sure that they will take you.
Nadav: Haha,I feel like you're my agent.
Andrew: Maybe you can take me as an agent.
Nadav: Good idea,I will do it.

After few weeks,Nadav get a phone from Enos Kroenke the Nuggets Owner.

Enos: Hello Nadav,how are you?
Nadav: Pretty good,do I know you?
Enos: I'm the Denver Nuggets Owner.
Nadav: Oh hello sir.
Enos: Nadav I spoke with you're friend Andrew before few weeks,and we talked about the option you will be the next Denver Coach.
What do you think about that idea?
Nadav: I think it will be a big respect to work for you in the Nuggets,it's a dream for me to work in NBA team.
Enos: I'm glad to hear it,Beacuse we want to hire you for the job..
Are you interesting?
Nadav: I'm interesting.
Enos: Great,so I will speak with your agent Andrew and we will sign on a contract on sunday?
Nadav: Yeah sure,See you in sunday..

And now for more details:

Guards: We have pretty good postion on two guards postion.

R.Felton and T.Lawson will fight for the PG postion.

They both good guards alot of team in the NBA will want them.

For now i'm going with Lawson,and we will look how good is he.

In the SG postion I put Smith beacuse this guy is so athletic player,and I prefer to play with him.

although Afflalo is a good solid SG as well.



Forwards: This postion is the strongest in our team,I talked before about the topic,we have a pretty balanced team.

W.Chandler is a talented player,I hope I can make him to a star.

Gallinari is a good backup for him,a killer 3pt shotter.

Forbes won't play so much but maybe he will get a chance in the future.

In the PF postion we have Martin,he's the best rebounder on our team.

And on the bench Harrington,a good solid backup for Martin.


Centers: Nene for sure,is the first choice,a great post up player and good rebounder.

He is important player in our team and I hope he will be a star as well.

On the Bench we have C.Andersen a great rebounder as well,and a flying bird,maybe he will give us few highlights in this season.

Koufos and Ely won't play so much,they will be backup if someone got injured.

Travel Dairy to Denver

30 August 2010,I just finished to package my suitcase,Now its officaly i'm moving to Denver.

After few days I was excited beacuse moving to Denver,I talked with my girlfriend Anna,and she accepted to come with me to Denver.

At first I was sure she will reject my offer but she suprised me with the answer.

Before I left Israel,I gone to say good bye to my family.

When I got to my old house I saw my dog rexi run for my direction.

He didn't want me to go,and it made me much more to be excited and with butterfly in my stomach.

Because I'm young coach and i'm leaving my land.

But I saw that as a challenged.

So my parents made me a party before I left,with all my friends and with my family.

And then my family and Anna family came with us to the airport.

We says goodbye one more time and then we got into the plane.

The plane fly up the sky,it was my first ride on a plane.

I slept few hours,and bored few hours,and then we arrived to Denver.

Andrew came to take us from the airport,I didn't see him for a while but he didn't changed.

A nice guy that always want to help,he take us to our new apartment.

He organized us very nice apartment with a nice view.

The day after,I goes for the first day of practise in my new team.

I met my new players and I talked with everyone of them about our goals for the new season.

The practise was good,they have a good chemistry,we just need to practise hard and we will be a good team.

Tomorrow I have my first press conference in Denver,I will answer all the question.

When I got to the airport of Denver alot of reporters came to ask me questions but I didn't answer beacuse I wanted waiting to my press conference.

Hello,and welcome to the press conference of the new of Denver Nuggets coach:

Question: How are you feeling with your new job?


Answer: First of all I'm glad to be here in Denver.

Second I very excited to be here,it's big team,and it's a dream come true.

I'm sure every coach will be happy about offer to be coach of NBA team.
Every coach in europe team waiting for offer like that.

Question: What do you think about the city and your team?


Answer: Well,Denver is nice city,every people here are very nice.

I'm feeling like in home,the people in here treat to me well.

And about the team,all the board are great,the players nice they welcome me,and im sure I will enjoy here.

Question: Do you planning some change in your team?

Answer: For now the answer is no.

I want to give a chance for every player in here.

We have couple of months to practise and then I will decide.

Question: What is the goals for this season?

Answer: Well,try to reach the playoff,and we will try to take a home advantage.

Question: Denver gave up on Melo and Billups,you think it will hurt your team chances to be a strong team?

Answer: No,I think we have very balanced team,and it's good to be without a superstar,beacuse then all the player give 100%..

Question: You have diffrent agenda from the other NBA coach'es you think it's good or bad?

Answer: Yeah I have european agenda,but I don't think it's bad,I think that my players will be good for my agenda and they will learn from it,and they will take from it the good side of it.

Denver's a solid team. I think a lineup of Felton, Smith, Gallinari, Chandler, and Nene with Lawson, Afflalo, Forbes, Martin, Harrington, Mozgov, and Andersen on the bench is really good. A lot of your bench could be starters for some NBA teams.

Yeah I know,this is the reason why I chose them.

Good luck, now Denver have new lineup and they need to work more together. I think new Denver is better than old Denver with Melo.

-LeBron/Wade/Bosh: Talking about title.
After the summer the Heat brought LeBron and Bosh,and now the big 3 want championship.
The question is how those 3 superstars will play together,and who will take the lead.
The Miami Heat fans say that the Heat are still D.Wade team and LeBron won't replace him.

-Lakers want another ring to collection.
Last season the Lakers won the Boston Celtics in a long battle,and they won championship.
This year Kobe and his team will try to keep the title.

-The Cavs look to regroup after rough summer.
After LeBron left to the Heat,cleveland want to rehabilitate themselves.
Cleveland now much more weaker than last year and we will look how they will be this season.

The season started with a loss




October 27,2010-Denver Nuggets VS Utah Jazz

Utah Jazz came to the pepsi center arena for a battle against Denver.

Denver crowd fulfilled the arena,and before the game we felt the new season feeling.

Denver with they new coach Nadav Cohen,wanted to start the season with a win.

The game started very close,both teams couldn't get the advantage.

But then Wilson Chandler with 6 pts in a row gave to the Nuggets 6 point advantage.

Then Al Jefferson taken control,and score 8 point and gave to the Jazz 2 point lead in the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Jazz succeed to get alot foul from the Nuggets,Nene call for 3 foul in the first half,J.R Smithand Kenyon Martin got 2.

The Jazz used the free thorws to get 8 point lead,J.R Smith hits 3pts shot,and Utah lead by 5 in the first half.

Some statistic from the first half:

The Jazz was 36% from the field goal,Denver had 42%.

The Jazz score from the free thorws 12-13,Denver just 2-4.

The Nuggets take 25 Rebounds,4 more than Jazz.

The third quarter was Kenyon Martin quarter,10 from his 11 points in the match was in the third quarter.

Gallinari put his 7 points in game in the third quarter.

And the Nuggets was down by 3 in the end of the third quarter.
But then Raja Bell gave a great fourth quarter in his battle against J.R Smith.

And D.Harris after bad 3 quarters,hit some few important shot that gave for the Jazz a good win over the Nuggets.

The Nuggets started the season with a loss in home.


Bad start for Nadav,which said after the game:

"We played 3 quarters very well,but in the last quarter we lost our head.

The Jazz played good Defense against us,We had to many turnovers ball.

We need to fix it,im sure we will play better in the next game."

but he can keep playing.
