Portland Trailblazers defensive minded

Thu Mar 17, 2011 11:19 am

The portland trailblazers announce the hiring of a brand new gm, 38 year old Louis Jenkins. As a kid its been his dream to be a player for the trailblazers, but he went undrafted in the 1992 draft when he was 19 years old and straight out of highschool.

He decided to go to Harvard university but never played professional basketball, but during his college years he gained knowledge of what it takes to be a gm in the nba. He's from Los Angeles, California, but his heart was always in portland, and his favorite team was always the portland trailblazers.

When he got out of college he moved back to portland to coach a small portland highschool team, and led them to 3 straight state titles. He was even a college basketball coach for 5 years at oregon state and led them to 2 straight sweet 16s. He applied for the job as a portland trailblazer gm and was immediately hired.

His contract is for 4 years, it is now time for Louis to address the media, with no questions, just statements made by the new gm.

Louis:I'm hear to talk to the fans of the portland trailblazers and the city of portland, i promise to bring a championship before my time is up in 4 years. An nba championship that is, but i make this promise to you first, that your portland trailblazers will earn a playoff birth this year! And i'll try my best to bring in a 3rd star to this team within the next year.

I know what it takes to win as i've been on teams who have won before, and i have coached teams who have won before. Right now, i'm building this team around the combination of Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. I'll have our assistants build up our players to become great players as well, that is all, i'll see you all when the season starts.

There is going to be one big trade this year to make our team better, here are the players that we are looking at to trade for.

1.Steve Nash
2.J.J. Hickson
3.Jeff Green

Nah, i'm not gonna give up, i can keep up with this one. I know i've said that before, but would still be doing the old atlanta hawks dynasty if i still had it. You see things will be different with this one, and you can see i almost made a page with my old hawks story :)

If i don't make at least a page, then i won't create another dynasty story, i'll just continue reading others. The reason i make trades is because, the teams that i do, always lack a good player at an important position. Like this portland team i still feel, lacks a superstar veteran point gaurd, though i'll try not trade away the whole team.

I also do trades, because i want to improve the team, besides training players, which is what i enjoy the most about nba live, particularly 06 and 07, which i both have for the pc. But as far as deleting dynastys, it will not happen with this one, i'll probably do this dynasty for 2 or 3 seasons, but only if i make one page. I'm sorry to get you guys upset over creating all these different dynastys.

But sometimes i just have the urge to create a new story, because i like telling people about my dynastys, that's all, but i'm sorry for getting you guys so upset, because i know people don't like seeing the same person with a bunch of dynastys.

I'm not upset, I want you to do a dyansty, just make it different (i.e. use a different game, change your recap style, etc). I think of different types of dynasty stories every few days, I thought of trying a Portland franchise in Live 2003, since a lineup including Gerald Wallace, Lamarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roy, and Rudy Fernandez looks AWESOME to me, but I had two different stories going on here at the same time and I didn't want to quit either one. Don't let ideas of new dynasties keep you from enjoying the old ones. Your recap style and format are exactly the same every time, and you get bored of them. I won't go into how others feel.

As for your problem with a vet superstar point guard, Andre Miller's pretty solid, and Brandon Roy, Rudy Fernandez, and Patty Mills can all play the PG quite well.

I've actually played a half season with Portland in Live 2003 (current rosters). A line-up I think you should try is: Aldridge (C), Wallace (PF), Batum (SF), Matthews (SG), Fernandez (PG) with a ridiculously good bench that includes Roy (injury made hiim kind of suck), Camby, and Miller. Works for me, I love it. Wallace is a bit undersized for a PF, but he's pretty good at playing there so I think it should work. Very exciting starting five.

Don't trade anyone, or only make a very minor trade. Please don't bring in Steve Nash, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard, etc. To give you an idea, the only trade I made with the Blazers was trading Collins and Oden to OKC for an injured Serge Ibaka (who I haven't even played with yet, he's injured till March, and it's still January!)

There you go, I hope you read all of that, now have fun and dominate with the Blazers! :D

Thanks, i'm going to read these dynasty stories and see if i can come up with an idea for a new recap and format style, i'm not going to start this dynasty until i do, because i really like this new Portland lineup with Gerald Wallace, plus they have Marcus Camby and Greg Oden who are defensive stoppers in 07.

I won't sim all the games this time, and i'm really into simming because i don't want to play every game. I'll play some, and let the cpu control both teams sometimes, i've recently tried that with another dynasty i'm doing.

You definitely should play a lot of the games, otherwise it gets boring just simming. I only sim games if my game crashes when I try to play a game. For example, everytime I play the Knicks in New York, my game crashes. I only use simming as a last resort for franchise stories. It's a lot more interesting for the readers since you can get an idea how your guys actually play. Also screenshots are cool.

News about the biggest surprise of the year are the cleveland cavaliers, they've been playing well so far with Antawn Jamison scoring 24 ppg and Baron Davis with 22 ppg. So life without Lebron has been good for cleveland so far.

Portland struggles to score in the low post and only score 99 ppg and plays lowsy defense, we average 6 spg and 8 bpg, but the main thing the trailblazers have to do is score more, the best teams are scoring over 100 ppg, and portland's low scoring is why they are in 4th place in the northwest division at 3-4.

I really want you to succeed with this one, but I think you need to take care of some layout issues to make this more appealing. Stuff as simple as making the titles bigger than the rest of the text would help the layout immensely. Playing more games would help your story a lot too. I've simmed seasons, but I came back to it in future years and that helped my story become better.

If you want to see a great way of recapping games, check out Phil89's Thunder dynasty (either HOF or current one)

Thanks a lot i'll take your advice, i will play the games, because i've tried it with other dynastys that i'm doing, and playing games has become fun to me again. I've been reading and studying other dynastys, and am trying to figure out a type of layout that i want to do. But i will make what you said bigger, thanks for the advice.

Also bro make your recap simple & Clean like what if you have a decorative recap but it's not clean then no one will be interested to bother reading. its all about the trust in your self. Hope you succeed. Playing games is fun to make your dynasty enjoyable.

I think you should go back and see Axel.'s Houston Dynasty for ideas. That was a perfect combination of simplicity, attractiveness, and fun. There's a reason it's in the HOF.
