Chandler, Nowitzki, and Marion power the Mavs to a win

It was all about the Dallas Mavericks tonight, as they cruised to a 111-85 victory over the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, who have begun the painful rebuilding process without franchise cornerstone Gerald Wallace.

The Mavs flat out dominated the Bobcats in the first quarter, shutting them down for 15 points. They continued to build on their lead, up by 33 at one time. The Bobcats had no answer, and the small frontcourt of Boris Diaw and Tyrus Thomas was getting dominated by Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler.

"We knew that we had a size advantage, so whenever we had the chance, we would feed it to Chandler, who would either get fouled, or dunk on them." said Jason Terry, who had 11 points off the bench.

The Bobcats had no answer for the two, and no defense, as they were getting burned on every fast break opportunity. Offense was even worse, with Thomas and Stephen Jackson, carrying the load on offense.

"Look, we struggled. We just need to move on." said head coach Paul Silas.

And when the Mavs weren't getting points from their starters, their bench didn't let down. The bench scored 51 points, with Shawn Marion scoring 19 of them.

"We had a great start of the season," said Nowitzki.

"Now we need to carry this through for the rest of the season."

Bobcats (15-18-22-30-85)
Stephen Jackson: 23 points
Tyrus Thomas: 20 points, 19 rebounds
Gerald Henderson: 12 points, 9 rebounds
DJ Augustin: 12 points, 9 assists

Mavericks (31-20-35-25-111)
Dirk Nowitzki: 21 points, 5 rebounds
Tyson Chandler (Jordan Player of the Game):19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks
Shawn Marion: 19 points, 6 rebounds
Jason Terry: 11 points

I love to see Tyson Chandler take home player of the game. Please make him an All-Star! :D

Yeah Chandler, is a beast. (Y)

Update hopefully in a few days. This week I'm busy, a major band competition, district track meet, and a tournament. Awesome.

I am a fan of the Spurs but there is something about the Mavs that I really like and I can't figure out what it is.

I'm adding them to my list of possible association teams for 2012.

The Mavs have a deep bench, a good starting core, and good young players (Beaubois, Jones, Mahinimi, Barea)

Grizzles game coming up. Then I'll recap the Clipper game, and then go to a weekly recapping style.

Allen leads Grizzles to victory after a shootout in the 4th quarter

It was the wild west shootout. The Grizzles had survived it. They had defeated their rival, the Dallas Mavericks 126-123 in what will be remembered for its amazing fourth quarter.

"We fought hard. We just can't blow leads like that and scare us to death." said Coach Lionel Hollins, whos team had an 18 point lead at one point during the game.

The Mavericks had amazing games from Dirk Nowitzki and Roddy Beaubois.

"You know, we let Roddy take over. It was like his show." said Rick Carlisle, who left Beaubois in. He had 29 points and 15 assists. Dirk was being Dirk, scoring 37 points and 15 rebounds.

But the Grizzles were just too good. Tony Allen began to pass, and he had 17 points to go along with his 11 assists and 8 rebounds. And with tank Zack Randolph providing a quiet double-double, the Mavs knew they were in trouble.

"We gotta do better. We can let them score at will." said Jason Terry

"Gotta do better on D. No slacking," said Tyson Chandler

"You have to earn your wins. You can't just stand there and do nothing. D. We play efense. No D."

Notes: The teams set a record for the most points in the 3rd quarter with 66. The previous record was 57...... They almost came close to setting another record, with 84 points in the 4th, for second.... Tony Allen did not play point guard all game.

Grizzles (35-23-30-38-126)
Zach Randolph: 27 points, 11 rebounds
Rudy Gay: 22 points, 7 rebounds
Micheal Conley: 19 points, 9 assists
Tony Allen (Jordan Player of the Game): 17 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds

Mavericks (23-18-36-48-123)
Dirk Nowitzki: 37 points, 15 rebounds
Rodrique Beaubois: 27 points, 15 rebounds
Tyson Chandler: 20 points, 7 rebounds
Peja Stojakovic: 12 points

Marion w/ 19 in 2K? I can never get him more than 7 pts off the bench. That's a good score for the bench, but 19 in 2K's weird. Good game, the Bobcats are a weaker team, you'll face tougher defense soon enough.

Hah, right after I comment on the BC game you post this. Roddy needs those minutes & points. Great double- double. You should try starting him every once & a while. I do that sometyimes & it works out pretty well.

Rodrique Beaubois is a beast after 2 seasons. In one of my associations, he scored 52 points. then every game he has 30.

The Matrix is really good as a PF, where I mainly use him.

Roddy is my starter, and he's getting the minutes to preform. I left him in because he was on fire. Expect more amazing Roddy games

Yup, he's a beast

Surprised me too.

I hope to post my next recap today or on Tuesday. Warning: this game was a shootout, and I got new sliders so the shootout never happens again.

Interested to see how the new sliders will change the game. That said, the Grizzlies game sounds intense. Hope to see more close contests, with the Mavs coming out on top of course :)
